Out of curiosity what is the max load a house can consume before tripping tge fuse
Post #550 here https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058266696/sunsynk-deye-hybrid-inverters/p19 and the one after it will give you an idea.
So which would be better schedule charge on the id4 or schedule the zappi to charge?
Zappi. Then it's clearer if there is any issue as you know what system is controlling it. Zappi or car charging software.
Worked grand last night using scheduled zappi to start at 2am.
Not sure if this is the right thread for this but hopefully someone can help. Yesterday was the first time I had enough juice in the battery that I could discharge some back to the grid before the Pinergy night rate window. Checked today and less than half of what I had discharged went back to the grid.
Finally got around to seeing what went wrong and realised it was the V1 Zappi set in eco+ mode. As soon as it detected the grid was receiving energy it started to charge the car (obvious in hindsight!).
Thought it would be an easy fix, just set the export minimum to 6000W however when I got home and tried that, the export minimum only seems to go up to 900W. Just wondering if anyone has a way to get the Zappi to do a timed charge, and not ever use surplus solar as I want to maximise my export?
Just don't plug in the car during the day. I only ever plug in at night.
Yeah, but even if I plug it in at bed time depending on the remaining battery I might want to discharge back to the grid from midnight to 2am so wouldn't work. I could just turn the Zappi to Fast mode and set the timer in the car but would prefer to use the Zappi if it was possible.
Are you using Home Assistant? If so then as part of your export automation also set the car charging mode to stopped. Then once finished exporting set it back to Eco+
Yeah, I'm using Home Assistant but unfortunately this is a dumb V1 Zappi. Might see if I can pick up a myenergi hub cheap and go this route though as setting the car timer is annoying if I want to boost charge during the day. The joys of a small battery PHEV! If I had full EV I'd never need to boost during the day as the night time charge would cover a week's driving for me.
just got the NC6 confirmation email from ESBN. is it from today i'll start to get paid FIT or the day it was sent which was the 9th?
I believe it's from when it was processed, so today probably.
Price cut by pinergy again and thankfully keeping the microgen still at 25c 🎉
by my calculations that reduces the night rate to 4.58c.
Daaaaaamn, the taxman will come after me for sure now 😭
Yer not massive saving to be had by us only using the ev rate alright every bit helps.
More thankful that microgen payment not being reduced as that is the main reason for me staying with pinergy.
Actually they are not, only day rate on the EV tariff is coming down, they have new prices on their site post April: https://pinergy.ie/terms-conditions/tariffs/
Old price:
From April:
Surely the 8.4% rate cut they are shouting from the rooftops to all media outlets today should be off all rates including ev hours rate?
Well they also DO NOT pay us vat on the export, while other companies do so it seems they do whatever the F they want 🤣
If they paid us vat, would we not have to be vat registered and then forward all vat portions on to the revenue ?
Everyone else pays Inc vat. It's not unheard of, eg non registered farmers get the 5% vat on animals they sell.
But if you were vat registered you would have to forward on the balance to the revenue. But if you were registered you could claim vat back on any imports. Simpler just to pay it.
As for pinenrgy, I did see a bill a while ago, where the FIT was before the vat calculation.
@SD_DRACULA could you post a snippet of your bill (or pm me it) for my own curiosity?
This is incorrect. VAT is never paid on supplies of electricity that are intended for resale, no matter whether the seller is registered for VAT or not. The reverse charge mechanism applies
https://www.revenue.ie/en/tax-professionals/tdm/value-added-tax/part03-taxable-transactions-goods-ica-services/Goods/goods-reverse-charge-gas-electricity-certificates.pdf
Whos incorrect? Your going to have to explain more please.
From the introduction Its between a taxable dealer (of energy) and a business.
Is a household a business?...
section 2, FIT doesnt really fall into any of the catergories.
The electric companies have far more informed people working for them than me, and all bar Pinergy are paying it inclusive of VAT. there was a statement in one of the threads but no chance of finding it to run the math on it.
Flogas have a separate invoice for FIT:
Here's my bill. The microgen credit is listed before the VAT calculation but if you work it out they have
calculated the VAT based on my units used and standing charged. The microgen credit is then added on after the vat calculation.
Exactly, your usage is 194.55 * 9% is €17.51 so that VAT is on usage only, nothing on your export.
Yes flogas did pay me with the VAT included and I'm not vat registered or anything.
I also asked them directly what's the story with the VAT and they said this:
I am reading their website as they should but whatever:
I asked esbn too and they said this:
If anyone wants to waste more time
What's the best provider these days?
The price comparison sites exclude some providers. Have smart meter and PV.
I think this is the current league table:
Does anybody know if any companies are paying for export to the grid if you don't have a smart meter installed?
Bord gais No
EI No
Airtrcity No.
every company must pay you deemed non-metered export based on your inverter max output.
