How do people feel about this one? Will it be short and sweet?

What % figure would you vote for?
This is absolutely laughable...real salary from day one!!! This is the type of hood winked rubbish gives public servants a bad name
Spot on. Performance review mechanisms go out the window for a start if an increment cant be withheld.
I mean do you even bloody read comments, rather than post the same **** repeatedly?
What percentage? Im not going to thrawl back. A lot of stuff gets posted here and i dont read all of it.
That's on you. Learn to pay attention to what you actually already quoted.
It makes you look sloppy
So what percentage? 15? 20? 25?
I've stated my position previously.
So just tell me again. Genuine question btw. Not sure why you wont just post it again. I really havent seen it.
Define "real salary"?
I feel a little bit sorry for our regular anti PS posters, they are here year after year decade after decade giving out about Public Service renumeration. That is some level of dedication/begrudgery.
Their position was 8% or more and only one year deal.
If nothing else at least this thread has confirmed that there are basket cases in both the public and private sectors.
So their argument makes little or no sense now. Just whinging for the sake of it.
Its a good deal by their standards now so.
10.25 of 2.5.
In fairness most of their guff is laughably poor...
They are getting some well deserved counterpoints landed right on top of their usual nonsense here if people care to read it.
Makes a change from them getting away with a constant stream of moronic brain farts repetive mistruths, half truths, obfuscation and in some cases deliberate lies you see them spew out unchallenged nearly everywhere else.
I often wonder if they are on a retainer or simply sit stewing in bitterness in a dark cellar lit only by a monitor regretting their life choices.
Madness.
AOs have a 10 year scale (before LS1/2), APs and POs 5.
The obvious counter point is that they'd probably prefer a few more points on their scale.
It is not, by their standard. The current deal is far off the 8% in one year. Now, we all know that the 8% in one year was not possible in the first place.
The deal on the table is for general round increases amounting to 9.25% with an additional 1% for local bargaining in Sept 2025, that not everyone will receive.
9.25% is a whole whopping 0.75% more than the original offer, and still over 30 months which is far too long a time period.
As such, I will be rejecting it, out of principal.
(ETA:)
Proposed Public Sector Pay Adjustments for the period 1st January 2024 to 30th June 2026
2024
2025
2026
I think it's ironic the only voice speaking for those reliant on state services is me, those paid to deliver the services talk about shutting down the country without a care of how it would impact on others.
At least I can hold my head high above those who go after the vulnerable in order to line their pockets.
As in happens, my skillset in the better performing sector of the economy is much better suited and compensated in the private sector so I'm content with my choices.
I don't have to hand over €400 a year to someone else to negotiate for me. I get to keep the €400 and pocket the payrise I negotiate.
As I stated, I said the proposed - second offer from Pascal - was very fair.
10%, over 2 years, front loaded most to the start of each year, so the majority of the 5% in January of each year. Most PS/CS on this thread have not indicated anymore than 12.5% at most, but nearly all agree that 10% or 10+% would be acceptable if given out fairly.
This deal is <10% for many. The only positive is for the lowest paid workers.
15/20/25 is ridiculous and despite what some say here, no one would even consider complaning, other than that they would realise that they new government would have to row back on it because of how risiculous it is. If the government gave any of those there would be a snap election and they know it, absolute poppycock and those posters know it.
Anyone any idea when the first increase might kick in?
A couple of months at least but will be backdated to January, Unions will only agree come March/April, then a month of two to implement, so could well be June before you see it.
On an aside, if you leave the PS/CS before then, will you get a check in the post for the increase? Lets say i leave at the end of February, will I get that little % increase paid out later, even if I am not there. Silly question, and not enough cash to really think about but just wondering.
6.25% over the next 13 months
Yeah I was thinking it might take long enough that it’s nearly combined with Junes 1% as well. Hahah no idea ,interesting question tho

Agreed, which is why dragging this deal out into 2026 is so crap. By the time they play the same games again, and another deal is negotiated and implemented after it, the rest of 2026 will have passed.
As long as it is backdated we DO get the increase though regardless of any delay. I don't see a huge issue with that so long as it is backdated... If it wasn't that'd be a huge issue because everyone would be left out to dry for half of a year.
And then a mere 3%, delivered in 1% drips, over the remaining 17 months of the deal.
You have to admire their dedication and tenacity though 😀
The biggest problem will be for those who move departments before the first payout. Will take months to go through each person's file , calculate the increase and pay. Happened me the last time. Took 7 months to get the backdated money
they are assuming inflation will be almost 0% later part of deal .. thats a big stretch who knows?
