My intention has always been to keep my Mustang until about 2030. Range wise now I have had my Mustang a year or so I find my range is about 400km in good weather and around 300km when its really cold.
problem is, they tried the premium branding before (Vignale anyone?) and it didnt take off. They reckoned I assume that an expensive mustang was more likely to sell than an expensive ford.
It’s probably the only way they can justify the price. It’s a Ford with a mustang badge unfortunately IMO.

Given it’s ID.4 underpinnings and the massive Ford dealer network here, it should do very well.
Ford have a track record of getting pricing very wrong especially their more premium offerings: the Probe, the Edge and the Mustang Mach E were all very overpriced and sold poorly as a result. Though the mustang Mach is a great product and is a very desirable car
Not so sure about the great product or desirable, it’s remarkably inefficient and the only part of it that reminds me of the classic Mustang is the badging.

I can’t say I agree with this sentence. It may be desirable to a few, but it’s not a very desirable EV. Only 82 units sold in 2023, compared to 4200 VW EV’s in the same period for example.
Well I can say as a Mustang Mach E owner I love it and have had no issues with it at all. Its a great car and a brilliant new direction for the Mustang line.
I see the base price has dropped to 58,000 now, at least according to the website.
Says 32 weeks for delivery though!
It could be short lived, it’s likely it may get ditched when the Explorer gets here.

They may attempt to sell the Explorer alongside the Mach E for a while initially. If so, it will have to be cheaper. Given it’s based on the ID.4, the Explorer will have to be similarly priced to its VW cousin at €45K here.
Do dealer offer any discounts on Mach e? Noticed starting price is now 58k after grant.
Has anyone had the pleasure of VRT'ing one of these in from the NI? I know it's 7% but of what amount. Can't find it on the calculator. I've VRT'd petrol cars previously, but I'm sure it's pretty much the same process. Any feedback would be great.
VRT is 0 on an EV. Should be no VAT or Excise on car coming from NI if the car is originally registered in NI or been in NI for period of time prior to your import.
Anyone see this reel from Ashford Motors where she says she had a woman in to trade a 242 Mustang Mach-e (trim or mileage unknown), but was unable to find any buyer for it and only got an offer of 20k? Used models seem to have fairly healthy prices on Carzone, there's not even anything newer than a 2023 due to the low number that we're sold to begin with. But if the claim is true it's shocking.
Granted she's routinely gone out of her way to say EVs are a scam and she won't sell them so it could just be nonsense. Or the dealers she sells to are like her and sell more niche used ICE cars and don't want used EVs.
Seen it and it may be exaggerated slightly but I think it’s quite plausible to be fair to her. Not many car dealers wanting to buy in a 2024 EV for retail stock, particularly a Ford. That said cheapest I can find available currently is a 2022 LR version for €27K from N.I. If you put a 2024 Mach-E into the Tesla trade in system, you’ll get your answer.
She is a troll , she can not think of one positive about owning an EV , which just shows she has a predisposition to run them down.
She is pro MCgregor and Pro Trump , tells you all you need to know about her.
Not sure how pro mcgregor she is after his assault on a pub patron ended up costing her big bucks on the sale of his i8. But she is definitely a troll with bias worn as openly as she displays her assets.
She plays to her customer base, that's all.
When they are ready to move to EVs she will flip quite quickly.
The low value offered for the car she spoke of may have more to do with the particular model not because it is an EV.
It is an anecdote but I was talking last year to the sales guy in a BMW dealer about trade in values for EV’s. He mentioned some cars were in demand and others not. For example he told me that they were trying to sell a BMW iX 40 model for months and there was no interest in it until a guy with a mustang Mach e wanted to trade in for it. The sales man said he would take a punt by taking it as a trade in just to get rid of the iX and offered small money for the mustang but the guy took it as he wanted out of it badly. The BMW guy said it broke his heart trying to get someone in the trade including Ford dealers to take it off his hands even at low price. He eventually got a Ford dealer to take it off his hands but said they wouldn’t take another one in again…

That's completely understandable, it has been an absolute white elephant for Ford.
You're quite right - in this instance it's a model-specific gripe.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong, the Mach E doesn't sell well and is not in demand so I'm not surprised at lowball overs. This one seemed particularly low though and what really bugged me was her taking this anecdotal incident to smear all EVs. As a small dealer with no servicing facilities she's obviously very vulnerable to depreciation in trade-in a but she's constantly pushing a lot of "EVs don't work, they halve in value each year, you can't get parts" topics.
Well the used EV market is depressed. Values are poor. And harder to sell. Literally four times more people buying ICE in new sales.
She is clearly pushing an agenda. And as said above she would change her tune if it suited. But there's still some truth there for used car retailers.
Some of this is partly social media driven. She can spit out whatever clickbait suits to a gullible audience.
Similar story with some folk selling Jap imports currently, they’ll slate Irish cars with higher mileage to push their own stock. Others will diss Jap imports that they’re all clocked, crashed, can’t get parts etc.
Well as a Mustang Mach E owner of 3 years now all I can say is I love the car and have nothing but good things to say about it personally.
lovely car but I very rarely ever see one. Must be a (another) total financial disaster for Ford If the sales figures are replicated in other markets. I don’t think Mustang has enough premium catchet outside North America to do the numbers Ford probably expected and they don’t have the market credibility to compete in the premium end. Just remember the Scorpio disaster of the mid 90s
saying all that it seems it’s selling well in its home market where Mustang brand means a lot to customers. It’s built in Mexico so clearly aimed at North America
