You can't put custom images on pockets in the new update which is majorly annoying for me as it really helps differentiate quickly. I asked support to raise it as an issue but it's irritating nonetheless. I tried to revert to the old version and add the picture there, it adds in the old version but doesn't carry across to the new, unlike pictures set before the update which did carry over.
You don't seem to be able to see vaults in the browser version of revolut anymore - is that correct or have they hidden them away somewhere as well?
They should be in your pockets. Vaults don't exist anymore, they're all pockets.
Not sure if this the best place to ask but...
Heading to USA next week for a few days and I am thinking of buying a new Macbook Pro while there. As I understand it, if I paid with my aib card over there, there will be extra charges.
So my question is, if I add cash to my Revolut card and use that instead, will I still incur extra charges? tks
Assuming you just have a standard account, there's no charges during the week, and there is a 1% fee over the weekend.
You can avoid that fee by converting it to USD on a weekday before then, and then the payment will be taken from your USD balance and won't have an FX fee attached. There is a limit on how much you can convert for free on a standard account - I think it's about €1,000 but I can't find it online to confirm.
Even if you are paying a fee, it'll likely be considerably lower than any Irish bank debit/credit card. Fees will be displayed in the app before you transfer.
Sound tks. Yes its standard account. I hardly ever use it tbh. And yes, I will only be over there during the weekday.
No probs. If you go into the app and click on your profile pic, it should show you what your limit is - when I click into it it tells me that I have unlimited (I've got a metal account) so I assume it will have your limit in there.
Yes nice, see it now, 1000 is my Exchange limit.
Just one last question on this. If I change the 1000 euro into dollars and put the rest in euro onto the Revolut app, can I mix the currencies to buy the laptop? Probably can, I imagine.
No if you don't have enough (the full amount) in either wallet, the transaction will fail.
Ok good to know, will just put the amount in euro so in that case. tks
The month ends on Thurs midnight so you could exchange 2k by the end of this week
Your month usually goes by the time you signed up. For example, mine resets on the 24th at 4:20pm (it's that specific)
True, still not enough though. Laptop is $2499. Goddam Apple!
I think everyone has their own reset date. Not sure if it’s join date or what but mine is (very specifically) 21st December at 20:57.
Didn't realise that👍
I had it that older customers had it reset at the start of the calendar month and newer uses have it from their sign up date?
Could be wrong but I remember reading something like that a while ago
Not sure, but I've been a customer since 2017
I just checked out of curiosity and I set up my account on 4/10/2016 and my reset date is 21st of the month so not sure what they base it off.
Don't see pockets either. Just Accounts, Cards & Crypto. Accounts only has my couple of currency accounts, no pockets/vaults in there either. Again just to be clear I'm talking about the desktop/browser version of the site.
Where in the App do you check your reset date?
Profile> Your Plan> ATM withdrawals or Exchanges
Has anyone applied for a credit card and managed to get a credit limit increase thereafter?
I repay mine in full each month, am on a pretty good salary with small mortgage. I have a much larger limit that they are offering me, got pre approved for a higher limit at another bank recently too.
Revolut are offering low limits ? Am just curious.
I never really go anywhere my current one, it's a bit of a safety net though.
I've had an account since 2015 when they first launched here. I'm also on the Metal plan and my limits reset on the 3rd of each month, when the fee is due
You could also upgrade to the Metal plan for a month as it gives 1% cashback outside EU and either none or really high exchange limits. The max cashback you can get is the value of your plan (Metal=€13.99), but still you'd be able to avail of the higher conversion rates then cancel when you get home.
ye that's a good plan actually. So then, its just a case of adding the virtual card to the Apple Wallet I assume and using Apple pay the same as you do here?
Deleted.
Yep, should work grand. I'm not sure on how common contactless is over there though so get a physical card just in case and make sure mag stripe is turned on in card settings, again just in case!
Wont have time to order a physical card unfortunately. Im leaving on Monday.
Use Google/Apple pay.
