Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I watched the toy show with my youngest. This will probably be the last year but she remarked at least this fella is not singing and dancing. I smirked at this.
Excellent post, nailed it.
Thats it in a nutshell.
“—————-half of me is Galway. The better half”. As he said, his father was born in Oranmore. I suppose he could wrangle his way out of that with his poor mother by saying that there is ‘good’ , ‘better’ and ‘best’.
Was the ‘payment scandal’ already predicted I house for a few months before it became public and RT jumped ship. If he is BIG into Kindness then why did he give up a platform where he can continue bringing joy and happiness once a week to the children of Ireland
Yes, utter noncence
yes, utter nonsense to a neutral observer , but not to RT - now knowing HIS reality
He did the same thing when Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain left him. He released a media circular about their breakup two hours before her Masters graduation ceremony. Very nasty individual
Sounds quite on brand for those Be Kind types.
I did think the date of the turning on the lights seemed a bit contrived, being the 23rd of November. Even the first of December would feel a bit early. It makes sense now, it had to be that night so he'd share headlines with the LLS.
Well all I can say is I look forward to many more headlines involving Tubs. All of them bad news for him.
The media and some in RTÉ (or former RTÉ) are heralding this as the rejuvenation of RTÉ as a public service broadcaster. One show won't help, they need to take a look at programmes produced for the RTÉ Player, Podcasts and RTÉ2's audience figures.
I wonder did he require the aid of at least 2 cue cards and 5 researchers to flick a switch?
Ryan: (shouts)Goooooood Evening Carlow!
Researcher: Psst! It's Clifden, not Carlow.
Ryan: ah Feck. (Shouts)Only joking! Good evening Clifden!
Ryan to researcher: I think I got away with that.
Sure Ryan is now an international celebrity. He's even turning the Christmas tree lights on at Rockerfeller Plaza tomorrow evening 🙄🙄
Remember the episode of Fr Ted with Eoin McLove? I wonder does Ryan have a similar minder. Someone to show him where the microphone is and reminding him to be nice to people.
The Barack Obama Plaza more his level these days.
She dodged a bullet. She seems like a very nice person, so TG
Never liked the chap but this has made me realise how big a piece of sh1t he really is.
So glad PK knocked it out of the park the other night and we finally have a Toyman.
Oops, tender for transport for €1, sorry we meant a quarter of a million euro (nothing to see here, it's just a euro, damn found out) - totally incompetent
RTÉ fixes €290,000 travel tender error (msn.com)
The "Ryan Tubridy payments scandal"? Guess he's famous for something now.
Regards...jmcc
so going to verify weather or not An Post are paying for advertising for the TV Licence, would really be up to RTÉ to suspend such ads.
It s a mess. It would be possible to pause some online advertising easily enough. The problem for An Post is worst as it might take a hit from declining licence fee purchases. Last year, An Post got 25.9 million Euro for collecting the fee.
It's frankly hilarious that the consensus among the kids in my extended family is that the last Toy Show was the best they'd seen.
This after the narrative was put out that the children of Ireland would be distraught by the disappearance of the man with the unaffected soul.
Who put out that narrative?
Huge amount in the media around the time of his departure that he could potential return just for the Toy Show.
And it made its way onto this thread that 'Ryan' must be brought back for an appearance at the Toy Show at least.
Really, who?
Is that the actual media or social media?
actual media ... who took it from social media ... though not sure goss, her and joe are actual media but you know the fluff pieces
So social media and click bait dumps.
I mean the idea itself is beyond ludicrous.
There are plenty of people who think RT is the bee's knees. Many were actively asking for him to come back for the Toy Show.
On Social Media? Doesn't really count does it?
Anyway the reality is apart from being hated he also is well liked, by the general public and other people in the media.
He was always going to get another gig. A lot of people declared he never could, so I imagine there is anger at the thought of digesting that humble pie.
Best of luck to him, I didn't listen to him when he broadcast here and certainly won't be listening to him when he is broadcasting from London.
If his fall from Grace speeds up the reforms public broadcasting needs then even better.
I doubt it though.
Boggles I don't care what Tubs does, I was just pointing out that when he left TLLS originally there were a lot of questions about the Toy Man and if he might return to the show for that one episode
"It will be hard to say goodbye, but I will not be hosting it again in the future," he said, definitively ruling out any return to host the famous toy show - even as a once-off.
I don't see the humble pie being eaten by RTÉ, who have themselves pretty much highlighted the fact that their stars were overpaid, and if they wanted those wages they should have moved on, the only one that you could perceive to have had any effect on RTÉ was Gerry Ryan.
Good luck to Tubs in London, he should have left 10 years ago.
