in my case, that wasn't an insurance price. it was a cash price. maybe you can get cheaper elsewhere but it wasn't coming out of my pocket.
Really hope you're right. Was in Ace in Bray on Friday and they're due to give me a quote today. 🤞
Would be interested to hear what it comes in at. Fingers crossed it's far lower than mine!
Jaysus that's robbery for a blow in and polish. Daylight. Wouldn't be going back to them for anything.
The car was less than 48 hours old when it was clipped by a van that left the scene. Only found out who did it because Sentry Mode was switched on. Wasn't motivated to shop around as a result!
Not commenting on the incident or how to. Just the price is ridiculous an no where near the value of the work or materials.
Yeah - seemed very high to me as well. Karma Tax!
I had a tip after a few weeks in mine too... I was standing beside the car when it happened. The woman involved refused to give me any details, name/address etc. Her Insurance weren't long about putting her straight. Cost them €1400 + 2 days car hire. I would probably never have noticed the scratches if I wasn't there at the time, and definitely would not have paid that sort of money to repair it. Ace did a great job on it etc, but definitely had an "Insurance" price.
RSEV seeing if the latest tesla vision parking has improved much since the original Dec 2022 release.
TLDR: it hasn’t changed much if anything (I’d wonder how much effort tesla are putting into it) - the rear camera is slightly better than the front, but they still don’t pick up low objects at all, or chain link fences, and a lot of it is flaky - if you’re manoeuvring in unfamiliar/tight situations you need to rely on your eyes basically.
Did compare a USS car at the same time?
It would be interesting to see the difference.
€1937. Lower than yours, but not by nearly as much as I would've liked.
Cancel Christmas...
Go to Ashmore Ryder or Carcraft in Fairview for alternatives.
yes. Back to back tests for everything. It’s still a mess really.
I don’t consider it a mess tbh. Rear camera is excellent, measurements are reasonably accurate and granted there are gaps at low front of car as no front camera but Park Assist is exactly what it says “an aid to assist” but it’s ultimately human that is responsible. I know many people get worked up over this but I have never understood the depth of feeling. For what it’s worth
I’m familiar places most of us got by for decades without any USS; but in tight unfamiliar places, with low objects around , this is better disabled and go back to the old days.
I don’t like the fron distance system on the new stuff. It’s a mess without a bumper camera. I agree we survived for many year without USS but such a simple piece of plasti, why did they have to be removed!
I find Tesla vision is adequate but still feel a year on, the replacement of USS was botched and not a like for like replacement as promised. Not too bothered and won't lose any sleep over it. The car is still exceptionally good at what it does.
I agree. It is an amazing EV despite the lack of USS, specifically for the front bumper. It's just a shame that such a stupid decision was not reversed.
Some design changes to the MIC car.
The performance upgrade/range on the RWD is interesting
Really perfer the look of the black wheel covers hopefully will be able to buy on the shop soon. Acceleration boost on the rwd would be welcome too if it is through a software update. Car does feel a bit nerfed from stopped.
Of significance is that Europe uses WLTP for indicative range whereas Chine uses CLTC, which gives a much higher range indicative level, so its not like for like comparison. The upgrade in China has introduced more range but the gap is not as big as first appears if you are compared to European
Bit of a troll/unnecessary tangent but honestly what's the need for acceleration boost? The roads would be far safer if car performance was not massively over engineered for people's needs. Cars would also be massively cheaper. The base Tesla acceleration is wild compared to most other cars in the "accessibly" price bracket. Each to their own of course, I'd rather invest in longer range battery or interior comfort. The roads aren't a playground and unfortunately this year record numbers are again learning that the hard way. :-(
Because some of us track the cars or attend events such as runway club where we get to put the cars against super cars and cars that cost 2 or 3 times more than ours.
Each to their own, and to that regard, a Tesla, base Tesla is even over kill. A 24 kWh Leaf would cover 90% of the population.
It would be very interesting to narrow down road deaths to speed or DUI etc as I believe speed is not the factor is most of road deaths this year.
Stupid driving is a major factor too, someone pulls out in front of someone else causing the crash. Speed plays its part in some case, I’m not naive though.
Yeah it's only about 10km extra at 465km. The quicker 0-100 should put it on par with the M3 RWD which to me felt noticeably quicker so good news for the future.
Track day in a model Y, ah lads...
You have a high horse opinion on that too 🤷
I’ve also done the ring in a Punto. Mind the step.
Ah yes, forgot the opinion police out in force again.
As I said. Model Y track day. Gerrupp will ya.
Why not? Most likely quicker than most and keep up with the rest.
So many reasons, if they're not obvious they never will be.
This is getting bizarre frankly... can't say a thing about this marque in here.
It's the ideal sports car, it's the ideal family car, it's the ideal budget car, it's a premium vehicle, it's the fastest car going, it can beat anything on the road, its such a bargain, it saves the planet.
It seems its all things... in all scenarios. As I said ridiculous stuff.
It can be great at some things but when it's shoe horned into everything you leave yourself open to mocking.
