Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Apparently Catherine Martin told at Cabinet that RTE proposals at reform are nowhere near what's required if they want a government bailout.
Come on, you know this. RTE!!!
Who pays the Gift Tax, it is well over the 3k limit.
This?
Never mind that, if the top speed is 30mph it's basically a glorified hairdryer.
You're right who's paying the VRT on it or who has paid it.
Next question will he get personalised numberplates...maybe 'Toy 1'
Haven’t seen a newspaper today, any more Tall Tales from The Toyman’s camp?
Hmm... who pays the VRT on that...
Funny the way he dismantled his Toyman persona so abruptly when he handed in his LLS notice.
Re the Vespa, like so many celebrity well-wishers, Bono wasn’t even in person to present it to him, he showed it or a similar model remotely from somewhere in USA, as far as I recall. I presume the idea was it was ordered from UK where he had to maybe claim it.
It sounds like the Vespa was being pawned to fund the barter account!
Poor oul Tubridy,... unloved broken Toyman that he is... never to escape from Andy's closet again to bore us with rest of his Story.
It's kind of embarrassing and awkwardly uncomfortable to watch this play out...
FFS like... somebody tell Kelly that his little puppet is now about as welcome as a dildo at a Christening.
As a journalist when I write a story, I make sure all the facts are correct. The Vespa backstory does not add up and its obvious that the journalist has written from a press release.
The Vespa was given to RT live on the LLS, so why was it shipped to the UK to be put in storage? Why could not it stay in Ireland?
RT is yesterdays news as he is a yesterday man so MSM please stop printing/publishing puff pieces about RT. Nobody **** ing cares.
Think that Tubridy has his own PR people and Kelly is just trying to get him a job.
Regards...jmcc
Yes I agree with you on this. And if he makes a good run of it fair play to him.
I'm willing to try watching PK.
Haven't watched the LLS in years. I tried in the early days of Tubridy but I couldn't do it.
Has Fionnan Sheehan been offered a producers role in the Turbridy the Film?
Fionnán has lost the plot, if he ever knew one. All over the place, like a puppet in the hands of some paymaster..
You know sincerity is overrated. The axe murderer chasing down the street is sincere in their intent.
The fact is Kielty may not be to your personal taste, but unlike Tubridy he's not an RTE insider and has been transparent about his fee upfront to avoid getting dragged into the ongoing quagmire.
RTE and edgy in the one sentence.
RTE is the TV version of Complan. Bland, easily digestible and suitable for the elderly.
It's one of the saddest things I have ever seen.
It is no longer about Tubridy. He's been an example for the other "talent" in RTE. One of those is Brendan O'Connor of the Sindo. Like most of the "talent" in RTE, he may also be facing a pay cut. Perhaps Beaker feels a bit of remorse for running the story that brought down Tubridy, the board of RTE and, perhaps, a lot of the management of RTE.
Think that Tubridy lost the LLS a long time ago. It was in all the newspapers. :) Seriously though, Kielty will have to walk a thin line between the traditional LLS audience and the audience that might watch an edgier LLS.
Jésus, is there no end to this, the Independent website:
"Ryan Tubridy has posted a video showing him whizzing down a road on the red Vespa he was gifted by U2 on his final Late Late Show appearance in May.
Since then, Tubridy has stated that the electric bike was sitting in storage in the UK, however, last week he said that it had finally arrived to his home."
WTF is this about the vespa - is he seriously trying to align Bono/U2 to get page ink?
What is the Indo obsession with him?
Maybe, we on here are part of the problem! Mod suggestion - ban all discussion of RT, in an effort to make him go away!
It's just a label at the end of the day though. I'd imagine RTE are giving Tubridy free rein to do what he wants with it, all they care about is that he attracts the audiences. I'm guessing he'd be going for something like the American late night tv talk shows, at the edgier end of that spectrum.
Re the Late Late it needs to start later, a more intimate set, mix it up a bit more with the musicians, less PR lead, the kind of program someone who has gone out for a few drinks after work might turn on when they get home. The RT thing has got painful at this stage he needs less PR and fewer, photos with the likes of Piers Morgan an absolute idiot. NK comes across as intelligent, but if he is the one advising him at the moment, he is doing a poor job.
Fionnán Sheahan today saying, in relation to any chance that Patrick Kielty would be delighted to have RT on the LLS show,
"What a coup that would be. Tubridy is the most talked about public figure of the summer, with a personal and professional tale full of rollercoaster emotions of the journey from triumph to tribulation"
WTF.
The sad thing about the Indo is that someone there thought that it was "news". It will obviously cheer up his fans if they read it.
Yeah, I'm not convinced, even of his total sincerity compared to any other presenters. Yesterday: "Kielty said yesterday in an interview with Miriam O'Callaghan that The Late Late was the show he had dreamed of presenting as a boy" - Nah, not buying that at ALL.
In relation to the senior execs getting a 10% pay rise last year despite the financial troubles, per the Irish Independent: "Leo Varadkar has disagreed with this, saying: "I don't think they should, I don't believe so.” He argued that RTÉ, as a semi-State company, was entitled to set its own salaries. It came as the Taoiseach said he didn't think it was right for Government ministers to be trying to set pay levels in State-owned enterprises like RTÉ, saying: "We have said that before.”
RTÉ will require additional funding this year, but the Government will need to see "a reform plan or a new strategy from the board or from the DG”, he said."Any additional funding will be conditional on that. But it runs its own affairs,” Mr Varadkar added.
Now, I do agree that it would probably be wrong for Govt. to try to reverse the salaries directly. But if additional funding is conditional on a reform plan, I don't see why pressure can't be brought to bear on those highly paid execs to do the right thing and reverse their own pay increase voluntarily.
In fact, to be honest, they have quite the brass neck for not doing so without any prodding at all.
In today's indo puff piece he has the vespa out of storage in the UK (how did it end up there?) and there is "strong speculation" he is going to the UK after his interview with Chris Evans.
It all looks very desperate.
I doubt that too.
You didn't even reply to Loafing Oaf. That's the give away.
