Something else; I'm not on Instagram, but was his 'address to the nation' the other day the first time he's come out talking like that on Leaving Cert results day. I can't remember him ever doing that before.
I was wondering the same earlier on the thread. Would he usually be on air or still on his hard-earned 🙄 summer holidays when the results came out, other years? If on air, I am sure he dispensed his unique wisdom to the students. 🙄
Zero self-awareness as usual anyway, trying to preach about life and future and all the rest of it, especially in the current circumstances.
He doesn’t have the backing of a large media organisation to do his promotion for him and anyway, when you have such a cushy number and a captive audience or a long term contract that’s “bound” to be renewed, you don’t really need to put in effort into self promotion- it’s quite weird and a bit creepy seen his so called PR machine in action - “badly advised” is probably the most kind I could be.

I hate seeing this. Someone at the national broadcaster (where presenters seem to already be overpaid) being paid to promote fillers and “butt lifts” to their followers. I don’t care if people get it done, but being paid to promote it (or getting your own treatment for free as payment in kind) rubs me up the wrong way.

You’d think after all the crap over the summer between Tubs, Marty, Doireann, Lottie et al., that they just say “no” to everything at the moment, at the very least until their new internal regulations are finalized? But no, fire away. It beggars belief that they’re so out of touch.
Guidelines in RTÉ are a vague at best it seems, but there also appears to be zero enforcement. What would be a great question at the next PAC hearing would be “have you ever said no to one of these commercial arrangements for your staff and contractors?”.
I think I know the answer.

Surely the powers that be at Rte have now seen the lack of job offers to what was their main 'talent'. He hasn't been poached or offered a massive deal elsewhere. Despite us being told for years there was queues of prospective employers looking for them all.
Hopefully KB et al, will now see this and realise that Joe Duffy, Miriam, Claire Byrne etc aren't in demand and can he offered a lot less the next time their contracts come up for renewal.

In an interview with the Sunday Independent, Pat Kenny says RTE "ruined" Ryan Tubridy.
No mention of the enormous salaries Tubridy received from RTE in the previous 20 years which made him a multi millionaire.
Came to post this, I didn’t read it as it’s behind a paywall but no mention I assume either that they have the same agent?
NK has probably worked more in the last 3 months than ever before in his life rounding up his posse to publicly say how wronged Tubs is, and churning out the puff pieces to beat the band.
i’ve lost a lot of respect for Kenny on this subject. He has shown zero impartiality on it and worse again, come out batting for Tubridy when he should really know better.
