Teams surely named shortly. ire to smash England like it’s no tomorrow. Revenge for Ross roasting last time when he lost out on 2019 WC place? Yeah !
Some strength from Joe McCarthy to pick up Courtney Lawes with Jamie George latching on to him and carry him back.

Funny you the SA fan are on the Irish forum crying and yet you don't see Irish fans doing the same on the SA forum...you're scared of us and trying to deny it. For Ireland to be sent home someone actually needs to beat them and so far no-one has been able to get close to beating us so I wouldn't be getting my hopes up if I was you! It was a good result in the context of the game, a good win in 2nd gear with the knowledge that we are coming along nicely with a view to peaking at the key games in the RWC. I would be more concerned if I was you, beating a Wales 3rd team and acting as if you are suddenly the team to beat, is that how low the bar has come that you see beating a scratch team like that an achievement? We smashed Wales in the 6N and just move on to the next game because it wasnt a big deal, take a lesson from the best in the world my friend ;)
100% agree with this. What we faced yesterday was a less physical, less accurate version of what SA will bring. It was a great preparation for us, imo.
Ireland it's fair to say are a good bit better at the moment based on, maybe not on the day in November 2022 but today yes.
Ireland had GP and Sexton off versus France, didn't matter a git because we've got strong depth...SA have got great depth when they play average opposition but when they play strong opposition that depth is questionable.
And by the time they figure out what Ireland is doing Ireland will have moved their game plan onto the next level meaning all the analysis was for nothing and wont know what hit them when they face Ireland in the RWC.
I think people are getting a bit overexcited about a win over a god awful England team
Nobody is excited because of this solitary game. People are excited because of the body of work this team have put together.
If anything, the over-reaction is the negativity to what was, ultimately, a rugby World Cup warm-up game, and the first hit out for the majority of this team. Where we still won by 19 points btw.
Just like it was an over-reaction to call this team “mentally weak” after the first NZ Test in Eden Park.
Did you watch any of the RC? Neither NZ or SA hit the ground running. You really seem to never be satisfied. We controlled the game yesterday, put up 5 tries, all while looking rusty from it being the first game of the season for most of the players. If we played England again next week with a similar team, we probably would put a bigger score on them, but you probably still wouldn't be happy, I suspect.
and the way their fans act on social media
To be honest, I wouldn’t be reading too much into anything about international teams based on how their fans act.

Missed you. Kiss kiss.
Ah look fair enough, it’s just a turn of phrase.
To me, it’s just makes it sounds like he’s all-singing-all-dancing, when I think you’d agree, he’s not.
But fair enough, I take your point.
Most countries yes but SA seem another matter, nearly every SA fan on social media I've see acts exactly the same and the tweets/posts are almost in identical fashion to the tweets I expect from Erasmus.
I don’t think we’ve seen any of the Leinster 5m tap-and-goes for Ireland yet?
Id be surprised if we don’t see something like that during the RWC. We’ll have to be careful with obstruction / offside, but they look really potent.
It was more than just Lowe tho. I think Ireland were missing Aki, Henshaw and Henderson too , and JGP was just returning from injury that day.
Everything I've seen from Ireland seems incredibly basic so far, just doing what is needed while we click through the gears. I would guess we wont start seeing new stuff until possibly the Romania/Tonga games just to see how they go in a test match before going full tilt for SA.
No.
Yes.
Sounds like a great way to injure yourself
In some of the Irish lineouts the English players seemed to be trying to manoeuvre the Irish players into a blocking position to then get the decision in their favour.
England have their toughest game up first. So do South Africa, France, new zealand, Scotland. All this teams should be further along than us right now.
Ireland played ok yesterday. No where near what they are capable of and still easily beat England. We still have another 3 games before our big one so a bit of rustiness is hardly surprising.
So we're choosing to play poorly? Interesting
If our first two games were sa and Scotland we would havs been playing game 3 or game 4 of our warm ups instead of game 2.
Due to our schedule we have chosen to treat Romania and Tonga as additional warm up games to get players fully match fit sharpness later.
I honestly don’t see how you’ve gotten that from Irelandrover’s post.
Recommend you rewatch the Nov game. Not trying to patronise.
SA defense is ideal to counter Irelands game. That is if they have 15 on the field!
I think Ireland are the better team but do not be surprised if a full strength Ireland still struggle when they play them in the WC.
Or maybe Ireland were rusty as it was the first game of the season for many of them, especially when you consider they had the same issue v Australia 2 weeks later.
They might struggle as its a good team they are playing but if Ireland play at their best they should have too much for them.
He said that the reason other teams are playing better than us, is because they start with tougher games at the World Cup, implying that were currently playing poorly by choice. I'd be interested to know how that team talk went. "Right lads, we don't need to start playing well for another few weeks, so go out there and mess up loads of lineouts and drop loads of balls". It's an interesting theory that's for sure.
Yes cos Ireland have done that everytime.what a joke.Ireland get smashed every single time on the world stage and that’s a fact.u can try sugar cot it and build urself up again like before every single World Cup yet the same thing happens every time…..u go home early!
Drop the act for once.
Ireland played ok yesterday. <- What i said.
Ireland played ok yesterday.
Maybe you should learn to read before coming onto discussion boards?
All those team have given more minutes to their starting players than we have so far.
It’s entirely reasonable that they’d be further along that us.
We didn’t play a game last week.
Ask yourself why?
I think it’s because those teams have tougher games earlier in their pool than we do.
None of that means we’re playing poorly on purpose. (And I don’t even think we’re playing particularly poorly all things considered tbh).
