If he does get back to radio and a chance to rehabilitate/resuscitate said image (and it must be a headache for the organisation if that would come to pass) I'm not sure he would be successful.....if he put himself out there as a bit of chancer/rogue with a heart of gold at the start or during his career to date then id nearly think he'd get back on an even keel eventually with some slaps on the wrist/heartfelt apologies etc (after all we love a chancer in this country)....but when you lean into the sugary goodness/be kind/let's all be lovely sickly sweet sugary goodness pixies combined with misery and charity it's a long way back considering the amounts of money involved - you ain't consistent...if you go with that as hhe persona you better be **** committed to it and not get caught at the strokes as you've basically been making people feel bad for disliking you and being a bunch of greedy **** themselves

Thats interesting. Do you think the late Gerry Ryan would have gotten away with this? I think he might and certainly would have a better chance than RT.

Gerry would probably come out laughing telling everyone he was getting paid more. I also seem to doubt that is all RTE had to take a pay cut that Ryan would be as underhanded to do a deal in the background to keep his wages up while telling everyone it was reduced.

What public want him back? Bar a few people on this thread wanting him back I don't know anybody who wants him back.
Not that any further proof was needed that he is the most honest self-serving man in Ireland, but he's as good as admitting the kindness and niceness were all an act.

I'd find it hard to comment on Gerry Ryan specifically...vague memories of actually liking that television show secrets as a kid and then wondering years later as I listened to him splutter and cough his way through reading the daily papers for a morning radio show how in bloody blue **** this lad can get away with this and collect multiple hundreds of thousands
It might have been the first time in my life where I thought to myself I could do that and been right 🤣 at least the read the papers bit...its unlikely I'd have been able to get a career in broadcast media in the first place and have the brass balls and work ethic (not to mention actual ability etc) to climb the mountain to the reading the papers stage.
I don't know on Gerry but I'd be fairly certain it wouldn't be as much of a setback for a person not putting themselves out there as a bastion of goodness.....depending on the crime of course...if its Jimmy Saville level stuff you won't be coming back from it.
But if its financial irregularities, you'll make the comeback if you are entertaining/likeable and never pretended to be shiny in the first place..
If uncle gaybo had pulled a stroke he'd be back on the radio the next day I'd say....in his case the strokes were pulled on him I think (financial ones)
And in Tubridys case he carried a lot of water during covid which definitely draws the ire of a certain percentage of people ...any opening and they'd pounce rightly or wrongly...so that's another nail in this particular coffin.
It appears to be a constant that the more a man protests he is honest and good its quite the opposite.
Its all about perception and the message the public figure PROGRAMMES into the public conscience.

There's a media campaign going on, being led by RTE radio, saying that Ryan is wanted back by the public. Like **** is he wanted back.

A McDonald woman was in for Brendan O'Connor today, it was interesting, knew her subject and sounded well. Not saying good broadcasters are two a penny but a considerable number are well capable of doing it. Maybe less emphasis within RTE on personalities and eponomyous programming.

Tyarensen has been laying low after the stories that came out about him.
She used to have NKM as her agent.
The only ones claiming alleged is the NKM and RT Acolytes.
NKM has "experts" on every area that can be called upon to cover any topic. Some of these "experts" are in contract with RTE and some aren't.
The media campaign is being orchestrated by NKM. If the various outlets involved in this campaign had balls, they would tell NKM to get the fucck out of here.
It would mean no more puff pieces or interviews with some of the NKM stable, which to me is a good thing.

...you will never see or hear from Dee Forbes again. There is a very dark and sinister aspect to this , that will never see the light of day. Was Dee forbes a naturally corrupt and rogue DG ? or was she corrupted into doing these frankly bizarre and nefarious actions? Have RTE and other powerful entities moved to bury the truth forever?
