I knew RT and NK would be utterly coached in what to say before yesterday's performance but I did not think they would be stupid enough to keep firing back the same lines over and over even when they made no logical sense and made them look like idiots. They never thought that they may need to evolve the excuses and lies.

I can't keep track of who'll be there from RTE tomorrow am, presume no Breda O'Keeffe? I'd imagine the kick back will begin on RTE's total culpability, as RT and NK, described it.
The BBC and ITV execs are no doubt already at the airport ready to pounce as soon as he lands.

Not the impression I got at all when the story broke, more like disgust at not only the high fees he's on but stating he'd taken a pay cut like everyone else when he knew bloody well he was getting it the same way through a back channel. Didn't hear anyone batting for Tubs then. If he has genuine offers across the water, he should take one of them imho.
Why can’t they match? There are about 6 million people on this island. RT has plenty support from plenty people. He also has plenty hate and plenty vitriol from plenty of people. Just look at this thread.
What he said about being unsure/nervous about leaving his house has nothing to do with support letters.

Reading stuff from the papers? Half of that stuff has to do with dodgy dealings, misuse of public funds etc. on a daily basis.

The poor, relatively lowly paid staff on that show will spend their days answering irate correspondence from less than gruntled license fee payers.
There's no guarantee that the guests they invite on will want to be on with Tubridy.
That's even IF any of the radio staff will want to work with him.

As I said weeks ago, RTE should not confirm they will no longer work with any contractors. So either sign up or move on
The 100k a year is based on what? again is that based on what other stations offer or not?
Well if and its a big if that RTE take him back they can name their price and say to him we will pay you €100K a year but you must be staff.

Absolute nonsense out of him and Tubs. Tubs should never work for RTÉ again and NK should become persona non grata in Montrose. Turn RTÉ into a PBS type channel with government funding to show news, Irish interest programmes and Irish sport.
According to him and his agent he is already working for BBC etc.....he is a children book writer and of course he can do events like the ones he done for Renault
I imagine it will be difficult for him though as it seems like his identity is completely wrapped up with being an RTE presenter. He doesn’t know anything else.
Things have changed A LOT between RT and RTE since the verbal agreement re continuing in radio only eg all the dumping onRTE by both at the PAC
In my book banning someone who doesn't step over the line in a boorish, insulting way is too much. Just my opinion. Even if you're repeating a mantra, I don't think you can call repeating a belief trolling. There's no malintent in it if you believe it. We all have different styles of posting too.
I had too and fro about Connolly, Pearse, Plunkett, Ryan's soul etc but there was no ill feeling in our posting.

I worked with an account manager in my current company (a e-commerce provider) who left to set up a successful real estate business in London.

It's a mess mostly of RTE's making though. I mean they underreported RT's salary, they guranteed that he wouldn't get a pay cut, they made payments from a dodgy barter account etc.
The radio show he presents is probobaby in RTE Radio's second most important time slot. The court of public opinion would be a concern for RTE. The show could lose shed loads of listeners and advertisers mightn't be too happy being associated with a presenter who has become quite toxic.
Of course he will be fine, no one is expecting him to end up sleeping rough. He has received millions from RTE since he started working there. One could presume therefore that he could live very comfortably off his investments for the rest of his years if he wishes.
The question is, can he get back into RTE and the jury is very much out on that.
