Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Don’t recall that Barry McGuigan one? Actually I completely stopped looking at the Late Late Show when Tubsidy took over
The new DG has blown a bit of a hole through one of their main defences...
"The new director general of RTÉ Kevin Bakhurst has said that doesn’t “see the logic” in the assertion from Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly that payments made to him tied to a Renault deal are separate from his RTÉ pay."
I thought Tubridy did very well thought on his feet, spoke with sincerity, not constantly consulting legal advice, was polite to all those on the committee, was generous with his time. Explained numerous repetitive questions despite his obvious frustration to the TD's/Senators who were late to the Committee hearing.
I am not sure what hearing(s) you were watching. But I would give Tubridy a B+ for his performance facing the committee - with points docked for being overly emotional at times and having to refer to Noel Kelly.
Noel Kelly on the other hand did not seem to have much sincerity and tried to play his influence down constantly, pushing the blame on RTE - who he was 'instructed by'
Tubridy seemed credible - but Kelly didn't IMO.
"rte instructed me to do it."
Is in RTE 6 times a year, represents RTEs biggest client, yet doesn't know Dee Forbes or have her in his phone.
It was just after his daughter passed away had Barry in flood of tears went shall we stop now while prompting him to carry on as it may have some help. I think it may actually on youtube was absolutely low
At least Tubs got out of the house for the day.
Too many.
He said he'd give Renault back the money for the jobs he didn't do, if he doesn't do them. No time scale or definition of what would constitute doing the events.
It will be quite funny of Renault demand the money back because he'd be such a liability they don't want him any more anyway.
He still doesn't understand the Renault gigs were a sham and cover for him to get a payrise out of RTE funds. He actually thinks the gigs were genuine and paid by Renault, even after the credit note was explained to him.
I only watched 1 hour approx.of the whole thing. I was out in the lovely fresh air bringing home turf from the bog. Somethings are more important than the shenanigans in RTE 😊 .
and he made the offer in front of thousands of witnesses in a recorded committee session, so no take backs possible.
'Fog of Confusion' is a poor soundbite for Tubridy. It's being used on most news outlets. Fog of confusion literally doesn't clarify.
Exactly. There was no new money from Renault for these events. RTE 'reduced' the LLS sponshorship value by 75k.
They were a scam to funnel money to Tubridy and NK. And to run the scam events RTE blew €50000 from the slush fund barter account.
“Don’t worry about it” he says.
You were the one going about it, now you’re saying what you were saying doesn’t matter at all? That’s actually the definition of talking Shyte. Some cheek for you to be describing the committee members as “thick as pigshyte” given your just sitting there bumping your gums and blathering a lot of ould nonsense that you won’t even back up yourself. “Thick as pigshyte” indeed.
I take great exception about my pronouns being misappropriated
Shouldn't you say mansion?
When did he say that because it was this afternoon with the Louth TD (Fitsgerald I thin?) was asking him if he would donate the over-payment to charity and he went there is no over-payment
They really weren't given enough time each, particularly given how Kelly and Tubridy tried to stretch out their answers and deflect.
Sure you did!
For wrestling fans of a certain age - Tubs shows up at RTE next week wearing an NWO (New World Order) black and white t-shirt from WCW back in the 90s. "He's the third man! Oh my god!!!!"
Thank you for your service
😂😂😂
I think front line medical staff, those working in supermarkets and others who kept essential services going helped us during the pandemic. Not the Tubridys or sneery Luke O'Neills.
Why is this barter system not being called money laundering? I am not at all knowledgable about how money works (me and RT both) so am probably misunderstanding it, but it all seems iffy, designed to evade VAT at the least.
There's something off with him. He has been like that every committee meeting. The passion for it is gone I'd say.
greed makes people do irrational things..if he's earned 8 million since hosting the LLS and has invested wisely he's surely worth at least double that now..he may have been under the influence of his greedy agent but he didnt need to do any of this
More like him please in more state departments.
It's be cheaper to pay VAT than the 'handling fees' charged by some of these barter brokers!
Now Citizen, I was lambasting MOST Oireachtas members as useless as pigshit because on today's evidence, they are
Don't worry about it. <ignore>
He's much more polite when addressing someone face-to-face. It's much easier to vent when your target isn't there to answer back.
