Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I would agree to a certain extent - especially as the BBC brought one in in recent memory.
But I don't think the likes of Lottie Ryan should need to be told it's not on filming in the RTE car park. That is just blatant and should be disciplinary action.
NK and Rt probably own Grant Thorton - is that the Netflix full circle twist?
OK let's talk about sponsors and personal endorsements.
RTÉ presenters and broadcasters (none of them are stars) are perfectly entitled to accept sponsorships, endorsements and brand ambassadorships for cars and whatever else. Its part of making the best of a short and precarious career.
Many of them also have other work, like podcasts, MC gigs, guest appearances etc. Nothing to do with RTÉ and all fine and dandy, it's a gig economy for all sorts of people.
The problem is, when those endorsements conflict with RTÉ duties, like speaking about them on air, or like Lottie Ryan, doing promo pieces in the Montrose car park.
If anything is to be learned from this, one priority must be to erect Chinese walls between what these presenters do for RTÉ and all their other activities, including personal sponsorship and social media.
It's as much the fault of RTÉ management that these protocols weren't in place before now.
You know this story is totally untrue as they are drinking pints and not using a certain white powder.....
Some TV presenters know all about that
Grant Thornton are making some serious dosh off of this too. Who pays for that?
@bureau2009 Thank you for your kind words
.
ANOTHER Grant Thornton review has been ordered - this time into spending on Toy Show The Musical
Doreen got the job on the back of the absolute worst comedy in irish history, and I’ve seen graine McGuire
This kind of stuff would be fairly typical for a commercial media organisation I imagine. This mish mash of public/commercial is just a disaster and ends in all of this stuff.
They need to get a good few slaps with a pair of havainaaaas 😂
Tubsidy troller casting even more shade with your silly boll*cks. Be useless, unfunny and as entitled as Ryan frigging Tubridy somewhere else.
Yes, we're so lucky to have such awesome talent on RTE.
And we're so lucky to have you, Soralla on Boards.ie
Trying to put lipstick on a pig...
That’s not very damning at all
Best not to place too much weight on what certain posters pretend they heard.
.... and then everyone else in the pub stood up and started applauding, carrying the young lads around on their shoulders and chanting "RTE AND TUBRIDY! LEAVE 'EM ALONE OR YOU'LL HAVE TO FIGHT ME!"
Project management wouldn't be RTÉ's strong point.
Neither would any sort of management apparently.
Yes, that makes sense. One downside with making it purely public is losing some of the presenters. BUT that is making big assumptions that there would be easy options for them to jump to. Perhaps they would just be forced to reduce fees?
On the using RTE campus for ad stuff, its mad enough alright. Seems like one of those things that was just a done thing for the few that had the opportunity. There just needs to be a blanket ban on this stuff or RTE basically says that they get an x% cut. Much like research done in Universities and they get a cut.
But they needed havaiaaaaaanas the clients don't want Penny's that's for the riff raff.
Sounds like a veteran of Toy Show the Musical.
Yep
I think best to not place too much weight on what 13 year olds knocking back pints say....
Smell of rat off this
The Musical actually cost less than expected in management, pre-production, rehearsal and running...
Marketing and press for the event actually cost more than DOUBLE what was expected, however.
Is todays hearing at 13:30 as per the two last week?
"Nothingburger - The Musical"
A tale of one man's desperate attempt to salvage his reputation and return to the airways.
How can there be €183k for Contingency in the Actuals column? Surely the Actual spend can be classified in the other 8 broad categories - Definitely doesn't look good.
Making assumptions on the 'real' costs that may have benefitted some outsiders, it looks like around €1m 'fluffy spend' to the same privileged circle of people.
But they’re only one euro a pair in Penneys!!!
That’s **** crazy
Sure the young lads had heard of Wogan and Andrews? Fair play to them. Sounds like a young Tubridy.
🤣🤣
Would you ever just politely fook off.
Nah we don't owe him an apology because we still think he dishonestly colluded in receiving under the counter payments, lied to the public, lied to his colleagues...
