Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I didn't know Coveney had pushed for a tax on Netlfix in 2021.
RTÉ pushing for the introduction of a tax on your Netflix - Extra.ie
RTÉ is pushing for the introduction of a tax on online TV providers such as Netflix, Amazon and Disney, to provide more funding for indigenous productions.
Speaking before the committee yesterday, Rory Coveney, director of strategy at RTÉ and brother of Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney, said 'significant revenue' is derived by media service providers which target Irish audiences but which have 'no obligation to invest in Irish content'.
Looking forward to Oireachtas TV tomorrow.
If I know what your grade is and how long you have been in the service I can look it up and give a guess. But there should be some privacy alright, but the higher you get in an org the less likely it is you can hide, e.g. we know how much Ministers, TD and Sentors get, we know what APs and Gen Secs get, we know all of the Semi State and Charity Bosses pay and so on.
THE MONEY SHOT!
Delaney, the crooked chef, the dodgy lawyer, how did nobody see it coming!
More drip drip revelations.
They are just dragging out the publics hate for them.
Get it all out in one go, and face the music. The longer this gradual release of information goes on, the more painful its going to be for rte.
He did also say if they think there might be something they could investigate, but at the time it didn't look likely. And it may still not look likely.
He'll be on the phone to Simon tonight. And then Simon will start pulling every string he can.
Alan? What do ye want down in North Tipp?
Gimme, gimme, gimme - showers of ****.
It's fairly easy to determine generally if someone is at the start of a scale, in the middle or is on LSI2. Furthermore the more senior you get, the shorter the scales become.
While strictly speaking, you are correct in that you might not know which exact point a person is on, you do know what scale they are on. RTE have failed to provide this information for its top payed staff afaik.
And then people say Rte can’t do home grown drama.
Barry Fooking Egan.
That man has absolutely bluffed a living. How has he not got a gig in RTE all these years.
I'd say he's kicking himself right now.
RTE's previous CFO will also appear tomorrow. Tubs contract was agreed under her watch.
Oh it was well reported. And it tells you ALL about the greed of that organization. Also, fun fact, the folks investigating RTE rn, Deloitte... Tubridy's brother, Garrett, used to work for them.
The breaking news about the barter accounts, and 'bribery' used to get Kielty to take up the LLS seat is genuinely disgusting.
When the Financial Regular was asked by PAC if there was more than one Barter account, he said 'No'...
Well that was a crock of horse excrement, now, wasn't it?
I think they could divide them a bit
e.g. Radio News and CA, TV News and CA, Radio and TV News and CA, Radio Presenter (Entertainment/Music), TV Presenter (Entertainment/Music), Radio and TV presenter (Entertainment/Music), Actor.... Their father died and we feel guilty because we let him use drugs on the air a few times.
Don't worry, Paddy Cosgrave lodged a complaint with AGS last week :-)
Simon: Join us in gov after the next election, we'll give you Dept of Media and you can do all the routing around you like then. For a party with only 2 potential TDs that's a good deal, and Leo's agreed to give Bakic her Sentators seat back.
Alan: Grand, but I think Bakic has had her day.
Simon: Much like my little bro.
Any chance someone else with a shred of credibility could lodge a seperate complaint?
Seeing what’s coming out tonight before tomorrow’s Oireachtas media committee is mind blowing stuff, this drip feeding of information which seemingly gets worse and worse by the day now has RTÉ in genuine trouble.
I think we can expect mass resignations over the next few days, perhaps kicking off in the morning first thing.
There will come a point of no return for RTÉ if this continues - that might have already past tonight.
After all this you can guess what the response from these companies will be.
Yes thats what it looks like, its always the same type of people they choose for these panels, they want to preserve the left wing bias in RTE at all costs. I had to laugh at Emma O Kelly today going on about needing gender balance in RTE. There is plenty of gender balance in this scandal with women at the top of the organisation like Dee Forbes et al responsible for all this squandering of licence fee money.
I think it is pretty obvious that this is what has been going on, it appears they are being used as a means to disguise the source of or destination of funds and to side step procurement procedures
Resignations can't be accepted anymore. No way.
And if Noel Curran has to be arrested to be questioned, so be it.
If the entire executive board resigns and no one is willing to take their place (who in their right mind would), would that mean that the company is not constituted legally? It's on the more unlikely end of the scale but an interesting thought experiment.
RTE lost control of this last week and the die is likely cast at this point in terms of outcome. It will be interesting to see though if the executives play to salvage RTE or just themselves tomorrow.
Its a SLAUGHTERFEST™ if you'd be in the killing mind.
We are on the way to a titanic movie scene I think.. the rats will start jumping ship.
This is an astonishing culture of incompetence at every level of RTÉ top and middle management with public money - unforgivable.
Insane money.
TD Catherine Murphy, former co-leader of the Social Democrats, claimed in the Dáil that Garrihy was paid €20,000 by the publicly-funded Horse Racing Ireland to promote Cheltenham – “an event in another jurisdiction”.
THIS IS AMAZING.
Another RTÉ star, Eoin McGee, who wrote a book How To Be Good With Money, was paid €17,000 for his advice by the Competition And Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), she said.
The Millennial Eddie Hobbs. FML.
Have some far more important personal stuff going on at the moment, sorry.
I will be back though.
Siun, Moya and Dee what a trio. Turns out balancing gender doesn't actually fix anything.
