Thinking of making a decision on a 2018 Mercedes c350e this week. It has 56,000 kms. Just wondering if there are any owners here or previous owners that have any pros or cons they'd like to dish out about this car. Any opinions welcome ;)
Poor electric range, expensive to repair, fairly thirsty. Its a nice drive tho when it has a bit of power in the battery, and its very powerful. Its a nice place to be if you don’t mind the analogue instrument cluster and outdated infotainment. I would rather a 2019 facelift model which updates the infotainment and has a fully digital instrument cluster.
Hmm not too many hybrid versions of the 2019 variety out there atm.

Not much more expensive than the C350e your looking at but a year younger, it's bigger and no need to plug it into a wall socket. Safe bet Lexus reliability too.
Yeah theres not many out there. Don’t get me wrong, a 2018 is still a lovely car. Especially the higher spec models
Actually never test drove a Lexus so I can’t say I’m against them at all. Will see if I can go in a test drive this week if possible.
Ye the 2019 ones I’m seeing online don’t have half the specs of the 2018 model I’m considering. The 2018 model has heads up display, sunroof, four cameras, memory seats etc. Was initially up for 34000 but I’ve got it down to 32450 already.
Did you go for it and how is it?
In the end I didn't and in fact haven't bought anything yet. I just felt it was flawed in the sense that the electric range wasn't good enough and that it would become a pain to charge for 3.5 hours each time to only get 17km range from it.
How does it have such bad range considering the BMW 530e from same year gets double that, at least mine does.
Not sure, but anytime I asked that was the estimated range I was being given.
Have one from new here. Similar spec to the one you mention. 21km in the summer which suits me fine but yes in the winter with air con on down to about 16. Put it on to charge from 2-5am and charge for 9 cents. Previously only owned Saabs and BMWs happy owner here. Lot of car for reasonable price.

I imagine it has roughly the same battery as my car.
Estimated range is bullshit, massively depending on driving. I can get 40km going from the suburbs into Dublin city centre and back no problem.
If I went on the M50 , I would get 15km range if lucky.
These plug in hybrids are only suitable for city driving in stop start traffic period, otherwise they are just very thirsty petrol engines. Mine eats petrol if I use it, thankfully I never go over the 40km battery range so I use it as basically an EV.
You can't base a decision on whether to buy a car on an estimated range someone has given you without testing yourself, I mean you obviously can but that shouldn't influence other people into whether they buy a car.
