Of course you don't. You and Abuses Toiletrs should start a podcast.
Says you.
Play the ball, not the man.
i totally understand that, oh captain my captain..
but..
for a team to not lose an away league game in the last 6 games, and win the league..
having broken a bad habit losing the first 6 or 7 league games of the year
some posters can't see a reason for some of the players inclusion in an extended panel?
I won't call them idiots, but maybe they should realise Jimmy O Brien isn't the answer at openside flanker?
mod edit: warned.
Does anyone think that the 42 man training squad only having 6 props suggests that there will only be 5 props in the RWC squad?
Until March, exactly..
i’m convinced none of you guys actually watch rugby.
Like how can anyone watch Coombes and Conan actually play, and be like yea… that guy’s more powerful.
Kleyn is a way closer analogue as a player to McCarthy than he is to Treadwell.
The last time an Irish team played a Scottish team we suffered 4 HiAs
It's crazy to have a training camp that doesn't allow for injuries in key positions
Only a lunatic could believe that is a good idea
The training camp is not limited to 42 players. Farrell decided, on purpose to not include cover
In comparison, the training camp for an inter county hurling panel before a championship will have 60 + players involved
Well, the narrative will be set if we lose and South Africa and France will have a nice long training camp to build the club cohesion we currently have. Its ballsy at least.
Duh! Coombes was fairly anonymous v Leinster in the semi. It's the same drivel piled on time and again. Conan is selected on merit. He brings more to the team. If he didn't... then maybe Coombes gets picked.
I watch a lot of rugby. Of course it's all opinions here and I disagree with yours!
So, you have seen where Coombes gets the ball, the fact that teams habitually double tackle him… and where Conan gets the ball and that teams habitually don’t.., and thought the second guy is a more powerful player?
I can understand saying Conan is a better player but it is literally untrue that he is more powerful.
Nonsense! I just watched La Rochelle double tackle Conan. Pretty much every forward carrying is double tackled.
Conan has more speed and runs better lines. Is he more powerful? I don't know! We'd have to ask the lads that tackle them.
Coombes is very good, no doubt. I don't know why he hasn't got more caps. Farrell selects who he believes serves the team better.
Teams don’t habitually double tackle Conan because he gets a ton of touches in wide channels. That’s where he flourishes. Coombes does because its his job to create the compressions that leads to space in those wide channels.
They are two different types of players and the latter is a power player.
Ok!
Can you tell me how many times Munster have beaten Leinster in the last five times they met? Last ten times they met?
That does not matter. That is not how a league works.
Antoine Frisch is a player that interests me. He was consistently excellent and influential whether operating off pristine possession or having to try and play off back-foot ball. For me he is a player that would thrive in the Irish environment.
The South Africa game should be very interesting.
They have all the components that could trouble us. They have a back three that is dangerous to kick long to. So, do we select Murray and box kick again like last time? If they can nail their halfback pairing, i’d figure they would be happy to play lots of contestables and maybe produce more scrums, stay out of lineouts.
I think with a long camp they will be really able to nail that type of gameplan. I will be very interested in seeing how we approach it.
Am I right in thinking that Nash has taken Larmour's spot?
In my mind, when the WC squad is finalised, it could be Nash v Earls for a place.
This argument is so cogent and insightful, it could have been written by a former pro rugby player in a national newspaper.
Like this one
Antoine Frisch is a player that interests me. He was consistently excellent and influential irrespective of whether he is operating off pristine possession or having to try and play off back-foot ball. For me he is a player that would thrive in the Irish environment.
Maybe he’s the guy who ghostwrites the articles lol.
It seems like D’arcy has a higher opinion of Frisch than the leinster fans on here.
Think it’s important that while only a 42 man squad was announced, Farrell can bring people in to train for periods. Mack for example wasn’t named in the November squad the k year eh came over but he trained for a week with then. Think this will be a bit more awkward with the provincial preseason probably not lining up fully. But there’s no way they won’t have contingency plans and prop in particular.
Exactly. But was what funny was people here dismissing Frisch yesterday. He is a good player and has played more consistently at a higher level than both Osbourne and Frawley.
Or both are using Chat GP?
Frisch is a decent player but I've only seen him play 13.. i know he did play spme 12 for Bristol but he is in direct competition with ringrose and henshaw.
Frawley we have seen at 10,12,13 and 15 this season.
Osborne we have seen at 11, 12, 13 & 15 in the first 8 games of the season alone.
Does Frisch deserve his spot ahead of ringrose and henshaw?
I think I was the only one dismissing Frisch - but obviously I've changed my tune now that Dorce has set the party line.
He's a grand player - but he isn't competing with Osborne or Frawley. Frisch is a 13 and only a 13, which means he's competing with Ringrose, Henshaw and McCloskey - and he's just not on that level at all, not even close.
You're fairly obsessed with Coombes "power", whether or not that translates into something productive on the pitch. Conan was bursting through double tackles taking restarts in the final, he's plenty powerful.
