RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
A lot of loose ends to tie up this week..
The sleepers this season have been Frank and Nuray Patuk...Patuk has been threatening all season about how she is scared of noone and the father taught her to be a hunter at the wolves table, so I presume shes getting ready to off the cousin.
I dont think its going to go cut and dry with Bren either, I think there will be a plot to kill but there will be a twist lurking...
No chance about it, seasons 2 & 3 were filmed back to back
Fair chance that seasons 2 & 3 were shot back to back due to Cox’s schedule.
And I could be quickly proved wrong but I think all of the characters are pretty expendable bar Amanda, Michael & Nuray. I’d be very surprised not to see them all continue into season 3 and at least the first two actors into season 4. The Canadians will want Charlie Cox there.
They must fancy themselves as writers given the amount of open threads for the finale this Sunday.
Jimmy/Michael/Anthony/Amanda.
Birdie/Frank/Bren
Bren vs the family.
Turks vs Kinsellas with the other sham Irish gangsters involved.
The double hit.
I'm guessing Amanda, the Turkish lady and the posh which side am I on gangster form a triumvirate to remove all the problems. Very handy and "great" writing.
Bren dies. Turkish male gangster dies. The local shop robbing sham gangsters wiped out to close out that thread from Season 1. Outside chance Michael dies given Cox's schedule.
Anthony is in Fair City too. He seems like a likeable enough young actor (total opposite to AG!!), I think he might be the next Paul Mescal.
ta @happyfriday74 😊
clears that one up - missed damn all so !! maybe there be a replacement kid in series 3 🤗
it confirms during that exchange that Jamie was Michaels kid from when they had the affair and not Jimmys. I know its obvious and implied throughout the series but I think thats the first scene its openly said I think.
Your man that Bren gave the orders to us fairly low level in the gang, so I don’t think he would be able to dish out orders to a family member Anthony just because of his young age. Did Bren know he would be the shooter and they just didn’t show that to have the shock factor at end?? He did say in earlier episode to Anthony that he would shoot Glen. Or less likely, could the driver have spent the 20K as he wanted and brought in Anthony on the job, and now it’s a mess up and he will pay the price. I think Bren fully knew Anthony was gonna be the shooter and the scene just wasn’t shown to have the shock reveal at end.
I'll bet you 20k it isn't. I dunno why you think this. The season finale is next week and he already botched the one job he had. Bren probably isn't going to pay out now anyway and certainly isn't hiring him for something else.
Stop thinking about the realistic qualities of the amount for driving and start thinking about if you were a writer with viewers. Why would you have the scene with Bren hiring him for a job, then have him driving for a hit... If THAT wasn't the job. Why sould you be having him do something in the next episode and be like, oh yeah I'm getting 20k for this, not the major plot point that ended the penultimate episode? That would be even worse than some of the bad writing theyve already had.
I think the 20k will be for another job we’ve yet to see play out. There’s no way you get that for being a driver.
..
Is there anyone she won't get up on, the hussy
Molly on Ray Darcy at the moment.
Ireland's largest dress sniffing section in M&S
Maybe she's not dead?
She couldnt play dead that well anyway ...............................
😛
They could always have him go back to prison, that's one resolution to his story arc that brings some closure but the writers still have him in the back pocket for reappearance later (that's ehat they did with Eric in S1)
For people suggesting it's Anna who's been knocked down.
👎 Surely it's a no!
I think the producers would have known what a gem they had in Bren as a character when this series was in the can.
I'd be surprised if they kill him off.
A botched hit and we still have Bren next series.
The main point of it is that he's trying to groom Anna. First the necklace, now the dress, previously texting her late at night.
Is it not to show Bren’s lack of insight / self- control. Presumably in the fictional criminal Dublin underworld there’s some chat that (at a minimum) he has preferences for young/ under age women. Not sure of Anna’s age- 15/16 ? The dress was only on screen for a few seconds but wasn’t the point of seeing it something along the lines that it was rather a tight, revealing dress ? If grandparents and particularly grandfathers ever do buy grandaughters dresses at that age they probably don’t go for something a woman in her 20s would wear on a night out. So this is otherwise a contained, controlled man worried about others such as Frank ‘ not keeping it together.’ But in this and other scenes he’s going off the rail tracks….
Not to drive like that anyway.
In this show you would. They wouldn't have had him offer him 20k for a job and then have him driving, if the 20k job was something else. This hit and the innocent bystander casualty are a major plot point. There isn't some other job
Yes, someone pasted the image 2 pages back
It's not Anna, too old. I think it's supposed to be just a rando but their death will bring a lot of pressure from the gardai.
I checked the credits, no new names so they're (presumably) just an extra
Yeah I dunno. Just something about how he said "You'll have it by the end of the day" .. felt a bit less dublin-ey
Did anyone manage to get a screen grab of the person knocked down? Camera stayed on them for a few seconds.
They could have a whole segment of Bren shopping in M&S for a dress ....riveting
Oh my god, I just realised he's the orgazoid!
Yeah? It’s a completely different skill set to control a crime gang than it is to order clothes off the internet. Your point is a bit nuts in my opinion.
the Del Boy trotter isn’t purchasing a dress either, he’s dealing in knock off swag. It’s perfectly plausible a criminal figure would deal with these type of people rather than going on asos or Zalando
There no way you’d get 20k to drive.
