New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
An ACL for one of your players is never good news, but for a 3rd choice player, near the end of your season, who was unlikely to get gametime, and with players the calibre of Casey and Murray ahead of him, and now facing into the summer…
Its probably the least worst outcome.
In fairness to FTD, it's only last week that we were debating the need to get an NIQ out-half to cover the possible absence of either Carbery or Crowley during the RWC. Both Murray and Casey will definitely be at the RWC so this would seem to be a very unfortunate injury for Munster, not right now but in October.
(Edit: assuming it's a proper ACL injury and he'll be out long-term)
Its probably too early for him but Jack Oliver is supposed to be highly rated. Before he got injured, he was at least in a battle with Gunne for the starting spot in the u20s.
I think munster could do with a depth 9 and 10 signing though for next year. Connor Fitzgerald for 10?
And when that was suggested, FTD also criticised Munster for not using academy player Tony Butler more, referencing Leinster’s use of Sam Prendergast.
Literally days after his Prendergast’s first appearance.
This is in the context for Munster have (that phrase again) the least number of NIQ players of all the Provinces.
Brian Gleeson (back row) and Henry Buttimer (back three) training with the senior squad this week. Both are Rockwell College products currently playing with Garryowen
Oooof. That's a lot of essays. I'll be honest lads, I'm just here for the dank memes:

Don't mention TRK Neil - that'll kick off a whole separate series of essays!
Just take a deep breath and enjoy the dankness.
Mod: A number of posts have been moved to the Development Pathways thread.

Back to discussing memes then it is. :)
Well since your original point was about Munster losing players. What has that got to do with anything? He played 6 times for Munster. So was no great loss to them.
Dank.
He’s probably better than Butler so its a loss.
….
I'm rewatching the Stormers v Munster game again tonight. What a game. The intensity was off the charts
There are 6 locks fit right now for Munster. That's two full rotations of a 3 lock pack. Plus Coombes. I'd love to see that with a 6-2 bench split
It's a risk for sure, but the warriors wouldn't know what hit them
Maybe I'm being greedy, but after this season, having more than 1 specialist lock on the pitch at the end of a game seems like cheating
Officials for Saturday evening
Glasgow Warriors v Munster
(Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow – Kick-off: 19.35; 18.35 GMT)
Referee: Andrea Piardi (Italy)
Assistant referees: Adam Jones (Wales); Manuel Bottino (Italy)
TMO: Matteo Liperini (Italy)
Kleyn has really kept the show on the road this season in that regard. Week after week, he’s put in a shift when we were in dire need. I’d love to see him get player of the year, think he’s more than earned it.
I can't think of a single player who deserves it more
+1
He has some engine on him to keep going
Will angry viking land-kraken be fit?
I wonder how the back 3 will shake out next year. Will Philips get a senior contact? Condon and McCarthy have both been brought into the academy, we think, so will they be year two next year? Keily started on the wing for the A’s last week but was nowhere near the 20’s. Costello was in the 20’s set up but got injured before the tournament and benched for the A’s last week. Buttimer (who I think is 20’s eligible) was nowhere near the 20’s but is now training with the senior squad. So many players in the shake up.
The scary thing is how happy he looks pillaging and destroying. Imagine if he was really pissed off?
I generally agree with your synopsis, however players have entered the Academy while being outside of the 20s squad before. Kieran Ryan last year for example didn't get into the 20s set up until the Summer, but had acquired his Academy contract prior to that.
Obviously Oji in that group to consider as well.
It's an interesting puzzle for Prendergast de Younger and Costello.
