Have you logged a complaint with the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (if your account now is on the Irish Branch), that is just unacceptable.
Yes and recieved formal response that nothing can be done and I have to take this matter to bank of Lithuania. My account still not on an Irish IBAN. Very frustrating the lack of support
I have a Revolut card and have hardly used it to be honest. I'm getting messages looking for my tax information and I need to know if this is legit or not. Anybody know?
Log in to app and see if a message in top right corner or check your emails from Revolut. Otherwise forget it.
If it's the app then it's real.
And it likely is real
A yearly requirement placed on all banks by the Revenue to verify their customers
thanks for the info, appreciated 👍️
And this is why I've ditched the legacy banks here (bar credit card which will hopefully be gone soon). Between Revolut and n26 I can forget about crappy Irish banks with their poor service and so called technology.
If it's the same as the loans, then you don't need your salary paid in but you do need your account linked to whatever account your salary is paid into.
I have had big issues with Revolut and this, I've had loans rejected that make no sense, I'd get the same loan from any bank without batting an eyelid. I just don't think they are able to verify my salary at all. I think it's because I'm not paid monthly, their system is unable to figure out how to verify my income.
There's also an issue where salary lodgements can just show as your name so Revolut can't tell it's your salary. Happens me with PTSB but not sure if it's all banks or just a PTSB issue
AIB have no issue with BUNQ who are my primary bank.
I'm with them for almost a year now with zero issues on funds coming in or funds going out.
Salary goes from AIB account about 12noon and is in BUNQ by 4pm
I also have an icard account (Bulgaria) which I use to keep an Airbnb account separate to everything else and a revolut account for UK trips.
Tons of options out there, but I stilldon't trust revolut.
Nothing on the App but I received four emails for tax details. I've been retired for over five years now, no income, no tax!
If I remember correctly, the email has a "click here" button. If clicking that opens a screen within the revolut app to input your PPS then you can be happy it's legit.
It's a requirement for them to collect this info, regardless of whether or not you pay tax.
Got a joint account set up yesterday. All went smoothly once I could invite the person.
I hope they expand it a bit and include budgeting and spending widgets/graphs like they have with the main account, or even include it in your main account info.
That's actually AIB's fault.
Still no Irish iban got the latest update and no option to make a joint account.... I'm a customer since 2018 and I know a few people who only joined in the last year and they have all the latest features. **** annoying.
Yes,one previous post here said putting in your PPSN is enuff
Is there fees for the new joint account?
I can only see a few for having card delivered
I'm on the Metal plan, if I open a joint account will my Metal benefits be shared? Or is it completely separate?
Trying to see if there's much benefit to a joint account versus the group vaults me and my partner currently use.
It has to be cash I found out from a previous poster here.
No you can pay it by card, I work for them lol. But it'll just come up "this card cannot be used for this transaction" for alot of non-irish banks. It's the stupidest system.
Thanks, my salary goes to N26 at the moment and I can't link that account to Revolut....might have to just get my salary directed to Revolut..a lot of it gets sucked out to n26 for savings and mortgage repayment anyway.
You don't share benefits.
The difference from a group vault is you can spend money from your joint account, it has a card and you can setup direct debits. If you're just using it for joint savings there's no point, just stick with a vault.
I dont seem to have access to the new joint accounts feature even though I am on the latest version of revolut.
No Irish IBAN, Loan, or CC access either (On the wait lists, very frustrating)
I was in that boat. I cancelled my account next day I opened again and got the Irish iban and joint account. Cc not even letting me in on the waiting list. I’m ok with that since my main concern was Irish iban and the joint account.
Just an update on this.
A lady from the AIB complaints team gave me a call today to say that they have escalated it with the relevant teams and that she would give me a call when she had an update, but as of yet they don't have one.
So at least its being looked into!
I also received a call from a guy in AIB complaints admitting that there does appear to be an issue as described and that there is an investigation underway due to a number of customer complaints. They are also sending out a letter stating that they are looking into the issue between the two banks.
Coincidentally I got a response from revolut complaints department via email also yesterday. In their response they actually said AIB are returning a response in below quoted response code which is new information. They also refunded me a couple months metal fees for the trouble while stating that they will not uphold the complaint as is "not their issue".
"Following a thorough examination by our Payments Investigation team, they found that the above mentioned transactions had been rejected by the beneficiary. When SEPA transfers are returned to the sender, the return has been generated by the beneficiary bank. This means that the transfers were successfully completed on our end, however, AIB returned them to us. After a deep dive into the transfer data, our team found that, in the reasoning behind why the transfers were rejected, AIB had given a reason code that corresponded to an “incorrect account number”. While I understand that this lack of clarity must be particularly frustrating from a customer perspective, I must underline that we do not have any control or insight into AIB’s processes or systems, and, regretfully, we cannot comment further as to why the transfers were rejected or why they deemed the account number to be incorrect."
Does anyone know when interest to vault savings will be applied in Ireland?
And what the rate will be.
Thanks!
Great, some devlopment at least, thanks.
Given they provide true free banking wouldn't surprise me (and it would be fair in my opinion) to not pay any interest for a while yet.
