A stopped clock is right twice every 24 hours . Mc Williams was so definite about the way the Irish economy would recover after the start of the 2007 downturn. I think the economy recovered much much faster than he indicated. His take at the time was quiet depressing. His attitude at the time was that he knew better.
he loves himself and loves projecting/ speculating
i find him of interest but I read his Colum’s with my eyes WIDE OPEN
Yep. I can completely understand the graffiti on the Russian embassy. That's the russian state itself. But abusing a russian who's actually anti war is just wrong.
That death toll number is according to Ukrainian sources ... should be taken with a pinch of salt ... the real number is going to be a staggering one regardless
What are the UA losses or is that not reported? 1:1 is what i've heard so far
That's fine, but given 94% of the funds I have sent to Ukraine so far have been for the express purpose of purchasing mateiriel to directly kill Orcs or assist in that task, we clearly don't see eye to eye on this and never will.
Another €100 sent last night to help fund some Motorolla radios and spare batteries for a unit near Bakhmut. I hope that helps them and that they kill legions of those civillian targeting scum.
I follow Natasha on Youtube and have been rooting for her and those likeminded and am very sympathetic to their awful plight, but she and they are only 30% of their 18-34 cohort, the Putrid loving rest can all drop dead.
And if you want something else to detest me for; I am not remotely persuaded by the religion driven idea of a profound sanctity and superiority of "human beings" we are in general, a truly awful species.
That Sky report refers to "race hatred" against Russians. The basis for these events is not race, it's nationality.
Do we believe this chap? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/mar/02/russia-run-out-of-money-oleg-deripaska
He's involved in our Aughinish Alumina plant, some talk about sanctioning it this time last year but all gone kinda quiet since. Local politicians and jobs etc etc
Well I have some good news for you. One fairly measurable group that can be used to assist in inferring the larger picture are the foreign fighters who have, or are, serving in Ukraine. Their number is given as approximately 20,000, of which 216 have unfortunately died, or 1.08%
So the Ukrainian claims of low loss rates I find entirely credible.
You are telling me UA has lost about 1% since the start.
300,000 @ 1% so 3000 men.
3000 men lost for UA???
I applaud your funding of Ukraine, to the point it ending the lives of invaders. I see nothing gleeful in it though.
Deripaska himself is under sanctions, and indeed was indicted in the US late last year for sanctions violations (https://businessplus.ie/news/jail-limerick/) So he's facing up to 20 years in prison in the US if they get their hands on him.
Neither Aughinish Alumina or its parent company (Rusal), nor it's parent (En+) are currently subject to sanctions themselves.
En+ was subject to US sanctions previously, but they were lifted in 2019 after Deripaska and other directors divested their interests and positions to the satisfaction of the US authorities. He still has a minority share in En+, but has no control over decision making.
There was talk last year of Glencore (Swiss metal trading company) taking over the plant in Limerick, but nothing has happened yet. They previously owned it before Rusal did.
Aughinish Alumina is the biggest alumina (aluminium oxide) refinery in the whole of Europe, so it's bit more than just local politicians and jobs. Aluminium oxide is used as a constituent raw material in a wide variety of products and processes.
Hope it's serious and that the comment about the Iskander factory in Kolomna is a good guess.
Russians are posting videos on social media of the aftermath of an explosion in a Kolomna suburb.
So Ukraine are blowing up some bridges in Bakhmut and Wagner making progress in the Eastern suburbs. Will Ukraine make a stand or will they retreat? No guarantees Russia will push into the city from the North/South or cross the river from the Eastern suburbs.
This is supposedly drone fottage of the actual attack run on the A-50U. The right hand video cuts out in a way that could be interpreted as it blowing up, the left hand one shows the takeoff and run in.
No, I said that makes their officially released statistics believable, which you can easily find on Wikipedia.
Hmm.. well according to what he's reported to have said, Russia is getting into deeper trouble as regards financing the state. I wonder how reliable is his take - disinformation or reliable?
Yeah, it's an interesting one. No surprise that he's talking about looking for investment from Asia after Russia having burned its bridges with the West, but his “that’s why they’ve [the Russian government] already begun to shake us down” comment sounds like a case of saying the quiet part out loud.
It may be even more. Russians suffer a lot of blue on blue. They also shoot their own, and they often leave their wounded to die. Russia must have half a million or more dead/wounded.
More-
Not sure if this has been posted yet..
A Belarusian Partisan group landed a reconnaissance drone ON TOP of the radome of the A-50 AWACS aircraft, a week before it was attacked.
Extraordinary footage..
If you propose a method to estimate something and it produces an unrealistic number like 1.03% losses - then it simply means your original logic was not sound. Either due to flawed assumptions or inaccurate input figures.
The best estimate we have for casualties is US Gen Mark Milley who said in Nov there were 100,000 Russian casualties (killed or wounded) and "about the same" for Ukraine. He did not retract that claim and re-iterated in January that there were "now well over 100,000" casualties on each sides.
The loss ratio may have been close to 1:1 at the time of his statement in November but has likely widened since due to the human-wave tactics used by Russia. We could be looking at 200k Russian casualties and 150k Ukrainian now.
Not sure where you got that ratio and the only thing I heard similar to that was months ago from an officer in the USA with as far as I know no real experience of being in Ukraine. Their figure has been repeated quite a lot by russian sympathisers as if their attacking force killing a similar number to their own losses was a good thing with no further evidence for this figure being provided. The most recent report I link below from a soldier who has been in the Bakhmut area for some time now explains the Ukrainians are staying there as they are inflicting much heavier losses to the attacking russian forces than they are loosing themselves. He says 1 to 7 or even 1 to 10 is the current ratio of Ukrainian troop looses to russian which would make sense if the russians are attacking prepared Ukrainian positions. He also says a lot of the media hype about russian advances there is just designed by the russians to encourage pressure on the Ukrainian armed forces to pull their troops back.
Ah Gen Mark Reilly's claim makes an appearance. If you ignore the official Ukrainian statement at the time of 13-15k dead (I'm not saying that was correct), ignore the fact that Russia has been shown to leave wounded soldiers die, ignore the fact the Ukranian soldiers have been treated all over Europe. Just fixate on that 100k figure.
Is that 15k Ukranian's KIA and 85k WIA?
And 85k Russian KIA and 15k WIA?
Both figures of 100k dead and wounded, just a different breakdown.
Surprising that's close to a 7:1 ratio of KIA, which Ukraine have said is the ratio around Baukhmut.
Even taking the equipment losses of something like 3:1, the mass HIMARS attacks on bases (Putin's NY Eve address) means it's highly unlikely it's 1:1 KIA ratio.
Russians clung to that 100k statement and the one by Ursula (which was retracted and led to Ukraine having to give a figure) as pure copium.
I will save my sympathies for the ordinary Ukrainians who through no fault of their own have had their lives destroyed. Every day the orcs remain on Ukrainian territory is more time they can rape, murder, torture, and pillage.
The only way we get peace in this war is when enough orcs get killed so the rest give up and go back to their own homes and each orc that dies gets us one step closer to that, so it something to be celebrated.
It has.
The orcs are getting killed at a ratio of 7:1 around Bakhmut in their suicidal head on attacks. Surprised the number isn't higher.
Seems like reality is creeping in to Russia's Propaganda TV. Or is it more of Putin's plan to terrorize Russian citizens?
Good call - F****** B****
So much blood on her hands you'd need a swimming pool to catch it all.
...
Charging at dug in machine gun positions head on is crazy. Unless you value your lives less than the use of enemy ammunition.
