Commentators like Michael Clarke on Sky News are predicting that Bakhmut will fall into Russian hands sooner rather than later and most data I've seen seems to back up the idea that Russia are slowly encircling that town by simply throwing bodies at the issue. However, the incredible amount of manpower which Russia (or should I say Wagner) are expending in this pursuit is complete madness. Reports have put Russian/Wagner casualties at as many as 1000 per day at the bloodiest end of it. It is way beyond what is sustainable for a Russian advance into Ukraine, even the rest of the Donbass, and suggests that the taking of Bakhmut has become more of a crusade for Wagner rather than a pertinent strategic objective for the wider Russian war effort.
The current estimate was 30,000 dead and god only knows how's many injured and incapacitated,for a relatively inconsequential town in Ukraine,it's like it's the only goal they actually have, bakhmut at all costs
I heard a statistic today of 180k casualties and up to 40k dead on the Russian side.

I wouldn't be at all surprised all ,if they are true ,we seen various reports over the last few weeks that in bakhmut they were losing a company a night 150 men in one area alone
The leader of Wagner would probably try to spin it as a double victory to Putin by saying he captured Bakhmut and ridded Russia of 10s of thousands of her convicts in one fell swoop. It does kind of skirt the issue of who Wagner could throw at the next town, however.
They might decide to get rid of their hospital waiting lists and homeless next,
It will be a great chance to take out Evgeny Prigozhin as he is bound to make a visit there. An embedded sniper or a special forces group to target where he is for HIMMARs.

That's it they can't hold it ,nor will they hold soledar either, there's nothing to defend,no strong points,no fortifications worth fighting to the death for, chances are the Ukrainans already have artillery systems zeroed for bakhmut,if they do pull back to any degree they will level what's left and whats left of the Russians

If they had them we would be seeing them regularly not been hidden away while we regularly watch HiMars launchers doing there thing,
The smirch is old and cumbersome compared to other systems the majority were likely knocked out early last year,
But no precision strikes being carried out behind Russian lines until HiMars and M270s stated to be fielded
And this is the army that some say Ukraine should enter negotiations with.

I am not pro Russia, neither am I staunchly pro Ukraine, I just try to be objective. My brother lives in Romania, married a Romanian girl, and that is also the view of the majority of people in their area.
I just wish this conflict was bought to a swift end, either through negotiation or decisive military action, not a drip feed of donated weapons, the loss of life, on both sides, disgusts me. At the moment it seems there is no route to a conclusion, Ukraine will likely run out of manpower before Russia does forcing a NATO boots on the ground decision. I found it quite distressing recently watching a pro Ukrainian vlogger, a Ukrainian national, showing a video of people being press ganged into the Ukrainian military, literally being man handled off the streets. I don't think mass protests in Russia will happen as the majority of the Russians seem far too terrified to voice an opinion and when asked generally support the government line.
A peace process should be in place, even if only to give Putin a way out, but with half the worlds population supporting one side, half supporting the other and no negotiations going on the future looks dire for everyone everywhere.
Will you post the videos of the press ganging. We have had a few posters on about this but no video yet. Western media is very unforgiving it always shows every side of the story. It has not ever shown anything like this.

Nope,Himars have taken over the main targetting within 80 km range,Vilkha have longer range
And Vilkha have been crucial for outranging the russian artillery,but they dont have to many of them,hence the reason Himars was requested
last september they even showcased a new verion called Alder in Poland,with the same precision as himars
And we didnt hear about the neptune missile either,before they sank the battlecruiser Moskva.
Not trying to encourage bitcoins meltdown further but right now Bakhmut is in the balance. We'll have to wait until the dust settles tomorrow but pro Ukraine accounts are reporting potentially large Russian gains around the city. Gains I'd guess are only possible if Ukraine has decided to retreat. Hopefully they're wrong but no doubt a major goal was to hold the city until the anniversary.
