Starting to look as though the Kremlin no longer see Wagner and baldie no 1 as a friendly outlet. No more prisoner recruitment for Wagner Zombies ops. unless prisoners are getting savvy and staying put in their cells. I would also guess a lot of criminal families and their lots are feeling aggrieved that their dads, brothers, and sons, are now dead and all for nought. a fair degree of loathing building there I am thinking.
all the rhetoric seem to tell me Russia doesn't really have anything left in the tank; no pun intended!
He has zero say in American policy
..
Obviously, he's not an American policy-maker. I think the point was the reversal of Abrams might see a change in Germany's stance on Leopards.
I doubt very much if any donated tanks will be returned to the Country's they came from, and neither will these Country's want them back. Ukraine's first priority when Russia is defeated will be to build the strongest army in Europe to keep Russia in check, and the west will willingly help them, and all other states bordering on Russia. The west was caught napping this time, it will not happen again, for sure.
Not a lot he can do once they have been delivered,it's not like he can send the Bundeswehr to repro them
Ireland has a larger GDP than Denmark, and remains neutral - only €9m in aid to ukraine - while Lithuainian citizens raised over €5m. Pathetic.
Indeed.
The Wagner human wave meat attacks were just about the only thing sustaining the orcs. Now that all the meat has been minced the orcs are looking really exposed now.
Time is on the side of Ukraine, not the orcs.
Hopefully Austria will do the same as Switzerland
I say above a thousand. The Bradley holds a crew of three and can carry six soldiers. Buts it only the crew need training, the Driver, Commander and Gunner. 5k trained would Indicate numbers in the 1500 region however I would doubt they would get that many but 1k would be feasible from numbers suggested being trained
There can be no reform of the self-proclaimed "Russian Federation".
When Ukraine win, the only solution can be to promote regime change in order to dissolve it. Anything else just risks the future security if its neighbours.
The battlefield in Ukraine is going to resemble a giant sized game of war thunder or world of tanks with armoured vehicles of every era, shape and size driving about 🤣
A little reminder of the map they were peddling nearly a year ago. Laughable!
The story that Fiats, Lancias etc rusted away in light rain was nothing to do with Russian steel or not. It was down to crappy production methods, tolerances and a near total lack of rust proofing by the Italian car firms. Plus back in the day the majority of cars rusted if you looked crooked at them for many of the same reasons, no Soviet steel required.
9 million in aid but 3bn set aside to help Ukrainian refugees, add the likes of the a various fundraising drives from the likes of the Irish Red Cross that adds another 40 + million,we also have lower taxes than the Danes ,and higher debts ,
They also have a fairly well equipped military from army ,navy and airforce
We don't ,
We have terrible public services they have better
The Danes are trying to buy back 90 of their old Leopards from a private firm so they can be sent to Ukraine too
It's starting to look like an episode of Mike brewer's Wheeler Dealers, on tonights episode we pick up an old tank to refurbish in the hopes of returning a nice profit,I wonder if we can find a buyer for our tank,
I disagree with you completely. I owned a FIAT famously made with that 1970's Orc steel and my ex owned another, and both rusted far worse the other cars my family had, none of which particularly had any rustproofing.
In all fairness though, they made fine hen houses !!! ( while they lasted!! )
Urban myth by all accounts, Fiats rusted no matter what steel people claimed to be in them or what country they were sold in
Iraq was still too fresh in American minds, plus the US was already heavily involved in Afghanistan. Getting involved in the Syrian nightmare, while it may have been the correct thing to do ( especially as it emboldened Putin) was just a bridge too far at that point in time.
They were fine as long as you didn't keep them anywhere within the earth's atmosphere.
Or in space.
It isn't. Fiat were partly paid in steel by Russia, and it was rotten:
FIAT was at the same time in the process of replacing the Fiat 124 model, but… if the 124 model (as a basic principle) could be sold to a new emerging market like the Soviet Union, it was probably because there was money – or as it turned out – steel in the business case. The countries of the Soviet sphere were experiencing a lack of currency which led to many trades being carried out as barter transactions instead. In this particular case, it was the “plug and play” car project which saw the FIAT 124 transform into the Lada, and in return vast amounts of Russian steel was duly delivered to Italy. However, the steel was not of the best quality and there were many rumours that it was merely recycled from old ships. Some suggested that the steel might even have been recycled from old Whiskey-class submarines. Truth be told, none of these stories have ever been thoroughly verified. An altogether different theory works on the supply chain being miserable flawed during the handling process, with the consequence that the corrosion of the steel had actually already started before the surface treatment had even begun.
@cnocbui . Some suggested that the steel might even have been recycled from old Whiskey-class submarines.
"Truth be told, none of these stories have ever been thoroughly verified. An altogether "
From your own article.
Urban myth
It is all of them and you can add more such as cancel culture , etc, etc, etc.
Yes, but they have now tightened up the recruitment / mobilization laws. Basically, those serving under contract, will have their contracts automatically extended ( they will not get permission to leave their unit when the contract ends, but paradoxically, their pay is not automatically extended....its the Ruzzian way! ) Then you have the edict extended to all universities that the have to notify the local military of the name and address of each student, their phone nrs the details of what they are studying, and the expected date of graduation. And now, any person leaving Russia by road, must book in advance a pass to exit the Country, naming which border crossing, number and names of the passenger's. Putin is determined by hook or by crook ( mostly crook_) to squeeze the Russian population willingly or otherwise to help him stay in power. Slava Ukraini.
Well, it’s a bit more than that. Mechanics for starters.
However, the blokes in back do need some training in things like how to use the squad leader’s monitor or how to reload the weapons. Though the vehicle crew can theoretically do it themselves, it is far faster for the self-loading cargo to do the job as both missiles and cannon are loaded from the hull.
And its not only the 60$ price cap,its also the fact that it costs 40$ a barrel to extract the oil in Russia ,and most of the worlds tanker fleets are western owned and so is the insurance companies that insure the crude oil cargo.
Russia tried to use ghost tankers, thats basically ships with no registrations and no insurance and basically doesnt exist, but they wont enter most ports of the world without being insured anyway.
From 1 February also all refined products from crude oil,Petrol, diesel, solvents and asphalt will be sanctioned in Russia the same way.
Russia is just digging their own grave deeper
I remember in the mid 80's my parent had a fiat ritmo a total rust bucket, the whole gearbox fell out on the road as were driving. The metal around the petrol cap was red rotten too
oh there it is the ritmo
