This is Tesla's distinct advantage over it's competitors and they are strides ahead, the in car GUI is lightening quick, the processor spec of the screen is at gaming level (Model S and X are now Steam compatible), routing is above and beyond others (takes elevation and wind direction into account, not just distance and also works out charging stops - where and how long for), firmware updates are seamless OTA, the phone App is smooth as butter and vehicle to charger talk is in seconds at SuC, new cars have two wireless phone chargers and 4 USB C ports

Do Irish purchasers get their VINs when their cars are on the boat from Zeebrugge or on the boat from Shanghai? UK customers seem to get theirs sometime after leaving Shanghai, but their cars are delivered direct to Southampton. How many weeks before delivery have people gotten VINs in the past?
They usually start matching cars when the ship is around Suez iirc. VINs often take a bit longer, I had to go looking for mine when didn't show up in source code. A friendly fella on Tesla chat gave it to me, cannot remember the exact timeline but perhaps a week or 10 days before collection.
Assuming similar for Q1 and considering the Feb 16th to March 9th delivery window been given, there's a good chance that the Q1 M3s MYs are on the MSC IMMACOLATA that left Shanghai this morning. 20 days to Suez.

I believe that this ship is headed to Southhampton to serve the UK market. Watch for ships to Zeebrugge which usually have the Irish cars
Do the Southampton bound ships ever continue on to Zeebrugge? Or would all the cars on board (5,000?) be for UK customers only?
The CALIFORNIA is ETA Zeebrugge Jan 31. Would that be too early to correspond to a Feb 16th+ delivery window in Ireland?
In recent quarters the UK and Europe (Zeebrugge for Ireland and West Europe - non UK) have had their own ships (multiple). It has been known that a ship can stop in both Southhampton and Zebrugge but that is now more the exception. There are many ships that deliver from Shanghai to Europe each quarter . That wont work...for s start VINS from China start with LRW. Use this
USS doesn't make the beeping noise it only sends a signal which triggers an audio warning. The camera only system I would think will will try an judge distance with audible warning too.

Edit: saw on the other thread no audible warning with camera only solution, thats a bit lazy to be honest that shouldn't be a big Sw change.
But still doesn't fix dirty camera issue. Weather these last few days even getting warnings that Radar is blocked, USS is the only reliable sensor on the car in this weather.
That’s my understanding of it too.
Currently Tesla are data gathering to make the cars with no USS mimic the cars with USS and provide park assist chimes.
It might be tomorrow, next week or 2036!

Maybe I’m missing it but the LR is still outside the grant so over €60k. I was.
Tow Hitch was auto added. So €53 now without.
In two minds as well, very tempting. Although a net increase is 7k from RWD to AWD which is a hefty enough premium.

no whats funny is that i spoke to them yesterday and changed my order to remove the tow hitch and get a blue colour. ffs. i have to call them again.
Agree 7K is a big premium. However in our case we'll stomach a white instead of a blue so it's 6K difference :)
We have frequent Irish and occasional foreign legs that are on the edge of the MY RWD realistic range. The additional nominal 80km of the LR will greatly assist those particular trips. But the 5.0 to 100 is also a motivating factor... 😁
Wonder what the logic is on black being free on Y, but not the 3?
