Will there be huge delays like last year?
I submitted mine on the 1st, nothing back yet.
Don't think it will be as delayed this year. I didn't receive my SOL until the end of Jan last year and applied on the 1st.
I got an email today to say I have a correspondence from revenue usually that comes through when it's completed but when I log in nothing in my documents.
I'll have a look later again. The revenue site is very slow and non responsive.
Got the same email myself about correspondence from Revenue but nothing there when i log in
Likewise, and the site is chronically slow. Everyone must be going in to check this phantom correspondence.
I received the email, too and no correspondence when I logged in.
I would give it a day or two and check again. I expect a lot of people claimed rent tax credit as soon as they could so it would cause some delays on their side.
I applied on first of January too I will let you know when I get it :)
Got my refund in my bank account this evening. That's the quickest refund I've ever got. Still no sign of the statement in my documents.
SOL is there now, got my refund.
Says overpayment of 999 but getting a refund of 750. Jointly assessed and claimed the full 1,000 rent credit so I'm a bit confused
499.94 on the way.
I only put Landlords name, no any other details.
I got an email yesterday too, same thing nothing there when I logged on.
But I seen a refund in my bank this morning and so I logged onto Ros and the document was there today.
Very pleased it's all done already.
If your jointly assessed could it be your spouse got the remaining amount? That’s what happened for me some given to me some sent to my husbands bank account
That's what I was hoping for. Her SOL said it was being paid to my account and she hasn't received any payment.
Did you underpay USC maybe?
They said the remainder is going into the wife's account, so I got 750 and she gets 250.
We're both with the same bank but she hasn't been paid it yet. There's also nothing on her SOL to show she's getting 250 so will give it a few days to see what happens
Ah ok! Your wife should check what bank account Revenue have on record for her. Might be worth a quick call to them to check. It won't automatically be the same as yours just because your joint assessed.
That's what I was worried about but Her bank details on Revenue are correct so we'll give them a call Monday or Tuesday if she hasn't gotten anything
My SOL usually arrives once they finish processing everybody in Ireland so not expecting before March or April
no statement notification but refund in account
How did you do this? Was asking me for all sorts of details?
You don't have to answer those. Only fields with red * have to be filled in ;)
Cheque arrived today after I made a statement on the 4th. I'd hugely overpaid on PAYE which I knew anyway, and there apparently little I could do about it until the end of year balancing. I'm not complaining, it's a nice little savings scheme.
Why are you applying for SOL in JAN.
Because you can file a tax return from the first of January? Why would you wait?
FYI, the first word of your nickname is in Ukrainian, but the second is in English. It should have been Slava Ukraini - currently it doesn't make sense, is actually misspelled if you aimed to the original language, and so it looks a bit foolish rather than respectful, unfortunately...
And the relationship to this topic is? Please elaborate comrade.
It’s for 2022, not this year
That's when you do an annual SOL. In this case for 2022. When do you do yours?
It's not due until end of OCT.
Putting your return in this early means it gets extra attention.
I think you're at cross purposes with the rest of the thread. This is PAYE SOL.
As for the 'extra attention' a) there's no sign of that when you get the money into your bank account in two days and b) so what?
What are you on about? The October deadline even for self assessed, is a deadline for filing; not the date you file. You can file anytime from January onwards and your return will get the same attention whenever it's filed. Do you think Revenue has staff manually checking millions of tax returns?
You will find that most people file returns in OCT.
You're on a different tack altogether. You file self assessment in October. You do your SOL or tax return/additional claims from January if you're a PAYE employee. You'll find the vast majority of PAYE workers will claim in January. Why on earth would they wait until the following October?
This thread is about Statements of Liability, not Self Assessment.
