I am putting this thread here to help others that might go down this road ( and Only because someday i will need this again no doubt)

I wanted to control my Solis remotely thru the SOlis CLoud app - but my version of the Data logger was too old.

So @graememk was very kind and sent me his one (and i will swap him my old one) THANKS!

The instructions/guide were wrong - it says connect to the new unconfigured logger SSID and use the serial number as password... it doesnt work unless you use the password: 123456789

The rest of the guide is fine - here is an online link that i used:

Yeah, the username/pass for the old DLS-W logger is admin/admin, but new S3-WIFI-ST is admin/123456789. I got stuck with this also and I can't remember where I found that password. It came up buried in some PDF.

No I am referring to the ssid password to connect to the logger. Step 4 on the guide is wrong. The login for the admin page is still admin 123456789...

Using this thread again.

My solis cloud app works fine with the new logger. But when I try to setup solis home app again... Nothing seems to work to add the S3 WiFi stick.

I wonder if the stick is not compatible with solis home? My serial number does not scan nor can I add it manually to the app...

"Logger does not exist exist" is all I get. I deleted the plant and still same error

Think the old platform uses solarman and so were the old sticks, the new ones must be Solis only.

just a hint for anyone installing the new fangled data logger... when 'bonding' with the home wifi, I found the direct connection to the home wifi worked a treat (Step 4 in the setup manual.. one-key configuration I think it's called), you login directly to the home wifi and it sorts the datalogger - home WiFi connection itself without messing around with Solis wifi first.

Everything was working fine after installation but inverter was set to UK and after seai audit it was changed to IE. Now logger isn't updating. Tried to reset it by disassembly and pressing the reset button but can't see the logger on the WiFi list.

Any thoughts on what else I could do?

There was a big update on firmware during the night maybe that could be the cause.

Seen this happen before, plug it out and plug it back in, should start showing up on the list of wifi devices after.

Got connected to it, but now there is no device listed as being attached to it in the app. When I go to the admin page of the stick there is no device there either.

Any thoughts from the wise members of boards?

I'd get the installers back since it was their mistake that commission it set to UK (whatever that means, the national standard setting?)

Is there a way to tell what version of the dongle you're using? I've been trying to follow https://github.com/fboundy/ha_solis_modbus to set up home assistant with S3-WIFI-ST stick and he suggest v1.1.0 of the firm ware should work.

Yeah, that won't work. Francis is has set that up using Modbus TCP, which is only supported by the S2-WL-ST or DLS-L sticks. I'm not aware of any way to integrate the S3-WIFI-ST with HomeAssistant, other than pulling the data down from the cloud (at 5 minute intervals) using this.

Yep, just spent the last hour reading over the other thread. Seems I'm out of luck on this one. I'll be installing a couple more Shelly EMs and I'll request the API key to pull data locally. I had been hoping to set up some automations such as controlling the level of charge in my batteries dynamically, so no just a data source, a las that doesn't seem to be feasible. The older sticks seems to have significant reliability issues as well so not sure I'd be keen to swap.

Reliability issues must be due to poor wifi signal, never had any issues with mine but it is also about 50cm from a dedicated attic access point so signal is about as close as you can get to 100%

Solis api only gives you access to soliscloud data which is 5 mins old and not great. I did manage to get them to change the refresh on mine to 60 secs for the cloud data too so I set up a backup that pulls data into HA from the cloud if the modbus tcp fails for any reason

When you log into the SolisCloud app/website, and go to datalogger, if there is nothing there then maybe it got deleted somehow and you need to add it to your plant once again

I keep getting alarm emails (nearly daily) from my Solis Cloud account with a code reference 2012. Alarm Content: CAN_Comm_FAIL

Would anyone have any idea what this relates too and also how to resolve the issue?

I have failed at the first step. Attempting to register on solis cloud cannot get it to send me a vrification code. I have tried two different email addresses withiut success. Also what is the picture dialogue that comes up. It would be great to get onto the next step.

In the picture dialog you need to move the jigsaw piece over to the space in the picture using the slider, only then will it send you the verification code.
