Simple yes no poll. Hoping this poll ends pointless bickering on other threads
so from what I’m reading here from people is that what happened in East Wall happened in your area you would be happy about it?
I would like to come back to you in a year or too to see has your opinion changed
Nope. My house is there, but have been in London since last year as my partner got a job here but we're done in new year.
What’s raciest about what I said? Do you even No what racism is?
Yeah new phrase used by mainly southside Dubliners.
It has happened in my area. There's asylum seeker accomodation very close to where I live. The sky hasn't fallen in and there hasn't been a peep out of the place.
Quite frankly, I'd have far more concern if far right sh*theads descend trying to stir trouble. Thankfully they're nowhere to be seen thus far, but as we can tell from East Wall, they're getting fresh now and think they can descend on communities and churn up hate.
The actual cause of the protest is a legitimate one. It's important to consult communities who are going to be affected by this kind of thing
Local politicians were briefed.
I'm not from South Dublin nor do I live there. Try again.
I reserve the right to point at someone behaving like an abusive scumbag and label them a scaldy, and you who soft-soap racism is just going to have to deal with it.
Yes I do. You're provoking unwarranted negative viewpoints. Glad to see you aren't confused about the sexism though.
Yeah the aggressive tone of your posts and language you're using suggests you're lovely.
If you bother to look at some examples of country’s that have done what we’re doing, parts of Sweden, Germany, Paris & London etc you’ll see what I said is very warranted.
Women and children are afraid to walk down certain streets or area’s. I don’t want our country to end up like that.
Strange, not a bad word to be said about the racist dog abuser, but you are going full tilt off on a poster calling him out.
We have just dispensed with the mask completely, yeah?
Unlike certain cultures we invite in who just love the gays and womens rights.
The right to wear a veil or catch some slaps for example. Or the right to die because of your sexual preferences.
where in London are women and children afraid to walk around? living here at the moment and never heard of this. women were pretty freaked out when that white police man grabbed a girl off the street in clapham a while back but i don't think it stopped anyone walking around clapham.
Who is saying that they shouldn't have the right to protest? Of course they have a right to protest - they just happen to be racists, is all.
Yet all we read about in our news is, irish people attacking the gardai, then also assaulting and killing foreigners.
where are you from? Would be interesting to hear your opinion on this in 5 or 10 year’s time how it all turned out.
We're truly going mad with collectivism when we think that we can accurately designate a whole group of people with yes or no answers. We're really going backwards when many seem to think that life is so simple and that people are so simple. We might be in the modern world, but most of us still think like primitive men and that's nothing but a sad reflection on modernism.
How many terrorist attacks has London suffered in 20 odd years??
I drove past a big "White Lives Matter" poster yesterday. On a lamppost on North Strand.
I hate seeing that crap in my city. So assuming that was linked to the protests, how is it not racist?
no idea, but you said there were parts of London women and children are afraid to walk around. What parts did you mean? By your logic they should have stopped Irish people moving to the UK too back in the bad times.
Nobody is saying that’s acceptable either and I hope the law comes down very hard on them.
You're focused way too much on low hanging fruit and ignoring the concerns of the wider public at large. And that would be an expectation of the government to sort out Irish problems before thinking they can sort out other people's problems.
Services in this country are stretched to their limits remember? For two years Irish people weren't left out as it was their duty to protect the the health sector. Will 1000s of more bodies not make the backlog recede even further? Then there is the housing crisis that you're obviously well aware of.
This isn't about a few rando bigots you've seen on twitter , who cares. Would you call Suella Braverman a racist? Deflection. Focus on the the fact the Government is wasting tax payer money and going against the public to suck up to EU bureaucracy.
Tomtomtim don't you regularly denigrate the left for having prescribed views assigned by you. Don't you go on about the left believe this, the left believe that.
So why is it now you are suddenly against the idea "that we can accurately designate a whole group of people with yes or no answers"?
Yes, Suella Braverman is a racist actually.
Like the Garda who was attacked and injured by an asylum seeker during an attempted deportation? Ashling Murphy? The two gay men in Sligo? Not sure what papers you're reading..
Obviously, all attacks on the Gardai and assaults / killings are reprehensible, regardless of the nationality of the perpetrator.
google it. watch YouTube video’s and see for yourself.
Presuming that you live in an urban area, "hundreds of unvetted men" come in and out of the area that you live every single day...
google what exactly? i'm sorry but there are no areas that women and children are afraid to walk around in london because of immigration. i don't know about the other places you mentioned but it is not the case here in london.
What about the 20 years before?
I did an early morning shop this morning in Tesco.
All the shoppers and staff were UNVETTED. I'm surprised I came out of there with my life. I warned a female shopper she was going into an unvetted zone, she turned on her heels and went to SuperValu, who I understand, Garda vet shoppers.
Close call for a fair Irish maiden.
