It seems likely that if it were to happen the Minsk line would probably move further West and no NATO in Ukraine would be a condition. I expect this would be better than losing all four oblasts which looks likely to happen if the war continues.
Not to mention Ukrainian infrastructure being wiped out, etc.

Also, maybe you’ve missed the updates from the last month or so. Russia is in retreat. They are getting their arses kicked out of territory they occupy.
Which four oblasts do you think they will lose? Rostov on Don, Krasnodar Krai maybe, but I dont think they can give up Belgorod or Volgograd. But yeah, I agree they shouldnt give them up without a fight.

He's got a lot of awards but has said some pretty outlandish stuff. Still what he said on YouTube seems to make sense but then again maybe not.
The other side is they are in tactical retreat as new recruits are readied and battalions will be reformed with less emphasis on protecting infantry and will move forward when the mud freezes. I don't know who's telling the truth, I don't trust the American's or the Russian's and Ukraine is the second most corrupt country in Europe after Russia.
Would be great if they found an acceptable peaceful resolution for ceasefire and stopped killing each other IMHO.

Honestly, I find this talk bizarre. There doesn't seem to be much nuanced conversation here. I have steered clear of the snuff videos posted here and elsewhere so maybe that's why I'm not yet radicalised, I don't know. I don't find the war funny, I think it's appalling to think of the huge tragic loss of life on both sides.
SO how do you see an end to this war. Either Ukraine leaves Russia where it is and Russia stops bombing Ukraine or Russia leaves the areas it occupied and Ukraine goes back to being Ukraine. Both options work and it will be either of these that is most likely to happen.
But which do you think is the right option and why do you think that ?
Suggesting "losing all four oblasts" is likely when A) Russia have never controlled all 4 or ever looked likely to and B) Russia are losing territory they have already tenuously had control over is the only bizarre thing here.

Nobody finds this war funny. Your "both sides" comment intimates blame on both Russia and Ukraine. The huge tragic loss of life on both sides has been caused by an aggressive state, Russia, invading a sovereign state, Ukraine. There would be no tragic loss of life if Russia hadn't invaded its neighbour. End of.
The poster hasn't given a single opinion or discussion point of their own that tallies with reality, they are simply looking for multiple replies to their musings either to spread FUD or as a wind up (or maybe simply to out the likes of eqqrtl).

What strikes me as incredible about the Russian attack on Ukraine is that was carried out to supposedly "protect the Donbas". But that was a regionalised conflict and the numbers of fatalities there in the last six years or so was very much on the small side (a few hundred at most). All of this madness and Russia becoming a global pariah state for perhaps decades to come - it couldn't possibly be worth it.
