Lukashenko has been under pressure from Putin to help him in his war against Ukraine for long time, and had to be seen to do something, hence the "gift" of the tanks, which forestalled Putins demands, but now the pressure is on again, with Putin looking for more "support" so Luka is now being pressurized to send his unwilling army across the border and do battle with Ukraine.
