Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Pretty sure they will add other legs here as usual , last tour was 4 nites in Hollywood bowl for instance . LA is a big market for them . Wouldn’t blame them for a shorter tour after Fletch's passing . Would be nice and fitting to do the rose bowl again..
I know it's the Irish 2023 Gigs thread. But for anyone who's interested. Billy Joel is doing HIS ONLY European date of 2023 as the Friday headliner for BST Hyde Park next July. Tickets on sale Thursday at 10.
Iron Maiden, Dublin...Saturday 24/6
Indoor or outdoor?
I'm guessing that's the overdrive announcement.
Only just found out tis the 3.O2
Future Past Tour
Leaning heaviest on the album 'Somewhere in Time' with an indication they will play some other 'Senjutsu' stuff they weren't afforded on their last run.
Talos playing gigs in Cork and Dublin next March. Cyprus Avenue and Academy bit of a step step in size from St Lukes and Pepper Cannister he's playing this month. https://twitter.com/thisistalos/status/1577946939303383040?t=g5PSExr5Bp1aZzNM1jja0w&s=19
Iron Maiden June 24th
Not bad but think I had my fill of Maiden even if I only saw them last in 2017 (crazy how time is flying). Remember you had to bring the card you used and ID for entry
Think I'll give it a miss but no doubt it will be a good show for all those going. Wonder who will be supporting
Looking like June will be the busy month again
In fairness they normally have a decent support.
One of my biggest disappointments was when Heaven and Hell cancelled their support slot for Maiden in 2010. Never got to see Ronnie James Dio live. Was looking forward to them as much as Maiden.
That was disappointing alright, I think RJD died around the time on that show, maybe a day or two before. Luckily I got to see him when he played here in Oct 05.
When will ticketmaster update the site so users can select their own seats. It's a joke. Amateur hour. 😤
And we got 'Sweet Savage' instead which was a little disappointing. Did like the setlist of that tour in 2010
Shinedown were support in 2017 and were good
It's usually an hour after a gig goes on sale. Have seen it not kick in for some gigs though for hours.
For the National Stadium yeah but the option has never been there for the o2. The map is for "illustrative purposes only" . Its a disgrace!
Sorry you're spot on, I've never seen it there. I've seen it in the Aviva so its not a size issue.
Ive seen it at the 3Arena for a few shows, Ozzy, Alanis Morrisette
Yeah its still there for Ozzy
I'd love it as a customer, but the IT infrastructure struggles as it is without thousands of people trying to use the seat selector at the same time. It'd never handle the initial rush.
All those blue dots would be available to thousands, and the chances of you picking one that some other lad hits simultaneously are slim. it'd be a very frustrating user experience to use
Let's hope finally that Ozzy show happens. He' sounded decent the last few performances he done but that was only a few songs, different story for a full show
I've seen the system for a few shows but can't recall seeing it for a 3Arena show. It's the norm for Arena shows in the UK
Becky Hill sold out Fairview this morning
Am I supposed to care? Thats ticketmasters issue, not mine. I want to select my seats and I should have the option to do that. It's not a problem for any venue other than the o2. Stop making excuses for why you dont have something
It's not in every other venue. The Olympia and Vicar Street rarely do it.
I'm talking globally. If you can select seats in Wembley stadium there is no reason why you can't for o2 arena... It infrastructure though. Ffs🤣
Pink just announced a UK European tour but no sign of Ireland. Could she do Slane?
Quick question, when your using irish ticketmaster account are you able to book tickets for a gig in Europe with it or do you need to create another account for that country?
She's RDS Level, maybe Aviva at a push.
Firstly I'm not Ticketmaster.
It's not anyone's problem, I'm explaining to you why it's not feasible in the first hour of a ticket sale.
Let's say ticketmaster allowed it for some big gig in 3 Arena. 9,000 seats - say 9,000 people try to buy tickets at 10am. If all 9,000 opened the page of blue dots at 10am, they'd likely all click the same front rows of each section. You'd click next, and for 8,999 of those people, they'd get a response saying "those seats are no longer available". 10 seconds later, those 8,999 people try the next best seats, 8,998 people get "those seats are no longer available".
It'd be a far worse user experience.
And BTW it's the same for initial sales at Aviva Stadium and most large popular venues.
…..
You will have to create a new account.
She could have sold out the RDS twice over last time.
