Yay.....meet Dublin's newest taxi rank!! Joke, relax.
Fair play to applegreen. That's a great amount of chargers in one area but as someone else said it "may" be ICE'd to hell at lunchtime.
Somebody else said that it's better than the Tesla offering. Not really. Tesla have the good sense not to have chademo plugs on their chargers.
Joke....relax!!
I could find 3 models with this form factor ABB Terra 94/124/184 all have in common 200A max current on the CCS cable.N ot very fast for 400V cars but many.
Agree with all of that, why I said "hub" instead of hub. In these circumstances you have to play devils advocate and understand why none of the private networks have opened on the m9 yet.
The new south east supercharger site is also not on the m9, it will be announced soon where it is
That is pretty ridiculous that Tesla have chosen somewhere else other than the M9 for a Supercharger in the South East, it makes very little sense as that is the worst served motorway in the whole country for any sort of EV charging infrastructure so why would they think a supercharger is better placed somewhere else???
The advantage of connected services. Tesla know where their cars travel and where they charge. Their analysis probably shows that they can get a better return by placing the supercharger elsewhere. This is probably based on either their predictions of charging, the cost and availability of a suitable location and power supply or a combination of both.
I can confirm there is no Charger at Lemybrien, nearest would be Dungarvan which has an ecars DC and a few AC chargers. All busy
A bit of activity at Coynes cross today , https://w3w.co/quantified.track.cherished
Brilliant..
Lets hope its 2 units that cover 4 spaces.... Ideally 3x CCS & 1 CHAdeMO
Terra 184 as in previous site. The CC designation means Dual CCS CJ is CCS & CHAdeMO
looks like they are 2x CCS x2 @180kW
More info here

Doesn't seem to be active yet but they've also got an https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.driivz.applegreen
They're using the same app platform as eCars.
Brilliant.
looks like they know where the money is…..
The app shows some online chargers.
They may not be real or on sites the public can access but might be some Ballymount ones. Coynes Cross suggest they are blocking esb and indeed "sharing" sites with ESB until they kick esb out.
Possible
pricing! 44c/kWh
Two boxes and we know one of the chargers will be a dual CCS, presuming Terra don't do dual Chademo you can be guaranteed at least 3 CCS heads
They do if you want to buy them for your virtual network. Ask for JJ configuration
and a very quick google search brings up this...
They must sell a lot in Japan probably what the "J" stands for...
Unlikely to be the one on the left I think we can all agree
Well we already know from the photo's that at least 1 is the CC (twin CCS) configuration..
The question is though is the 2nd unit also CC or is it CJ? and they'd perhaps leave the eCars units onsite to take care of CHAdeMO usage..
I think it will be CJ.
Most likely, but if it was eCars, you know both units would be CJ.... so at least AppleGreen have a bit of foresight and are installing at a ratio of 3:1 CCS:CHAdeMO.... so fair play to them for actually looking at the annual sales figures and understanding that CCS outsells CHAdeMO by about 9:1
If i was applegreen i would not bother installing any chademo
I saw a config using those units in Holyhead with 3 spaces and the dual CCS served 2 spaces and the CCS+Chademo served the third one
I could see this being similar given the placement of the chargers. I might be down that way this weekend so I'll try to get an update picture
Since Applegreen aren't tied to a manufacturer in the same way as Ionity or Tesla, it doesn't make sense for them to ignore Chademo. However someone there seems clued into the sales figures and sees that CCS is vastly outselling it
Maybe someone at Applegreen has been watching the Ecars stats page 😁
Tbh that's not bad considering the service being offered. Better than Ecars but cheaper than Ionity
44c is pretty good tbh. Cheaper than Tesla/Ionity, similar to ecars. but better.
I prefer Coynes Cross as the services is better than other spots. For the last couple of years I've been avoiding it as you'll never get to charge there.
Any updates from Coynes Cross? Any photo's of the units in place? and confirmation of if it's 2x twin CCS (CC) units or a single twin CCS unit with a CCS/CHAdeMO (CJ) unit next to it?
still alot of chademo cars out there, where they would be more likely to stop for a charge than those with CCS.
good to see the selfish brigade out .
There was at least 1,493 EVs sold in September, not 1 of them was had CHADEMO. How many CHADEMO cars are there in Ireland?
have Nissan made any contribution to provide CHADEMO chargers ?
It's as simple as this, install the units to service the national fleet for the next five to ten years or your pissing into the wind.
At the moment it's about 7:1 for CCS to Chademo, next year I'd be very surprised if it's not 12:1 and God knows what it'll be the following year.
Why would you fart around installing Chademo units in anything other than the current fleet ratio (and even that is short sighted).
You speak about the selfish brigade but that's exactly the attitude I see coming from Chademo owners who feel they have a given right to expect an unequitable install rate.
Actually were 29 Leafs registered in September out of 1858 EVs. 1.5%. CHAdeMO accounts for 19.90% of the fleet, down from 29.5% at the beginning of the year. Fun fact 40% of the Irish EVs fleet got registered in the first 9 months of this year and 75% since the pandemic started.
