Then why would CIA warn Germany a few weeks before i wonder?
For what did Russia detain leased aircraft thereby destroying their commercial airline industry at a cost of billions?
They have demonstrated time and time again they are capable of 'Mind boggling' actions contrary to their own long term interests.
Yes the cia are a very credible organisation you have me there anyone willing to adress points?
Are the Russian FSB/GRU more credible you think?
And why would it even be reported in the news if it wasnt
They seem to predict Russias invasion of Ukraine though
Nope they are both ghouls.
NS2 was already dead. Its an empty, useless pipe.
Germany and the Baltic countries will know who did this before long and the idea that there would not be massive repercussions for US relations if it was them is fanciful. Whoever did this, it was a ludicrously irresponsible, dangerous and self-defeating act - and well who does that sound more like?
Russia love the oul’ false flag operations. I wouldn’t be looking anywhere else. Especially in the context of them requesting an urgent UNSC meeting as @GM228 posted earlier.
There's a theory that it is the Russians sending a message to the west: We can do this to your undersea stuff too...
They might be,but what would US gain from shutting down the gas from Russia when they have allready won the battle politically?
Nothing
Only Russia would benefit from this,so Putin have an excuse to have NATO as enemy and us it as as an excuse to mobilize more soldiers and dont lose face politically, since they are losing in Ukraine.
Why would US do Russia a favor
It was and NS1 was running at 30%,so basically nothing,
Remember bo listening in on merkel?
Who?
Yes. And the Kremlin is saying someone else did it - that's the only proof we need that the Russians did it.
not sure if this was already posted but good analysis
I lived there for several years, and it's like they want some focal point to gather round. And so far, Putin has prevented that. And no, Russians are not 100% behind Putin, or his system. The problem is that there's no choice. If you want to have a good ( or even reasonable ) life in Russia, you better be supporting Putin. Leave the major cities, and travel around Rural Russia, and see what the locals will tell you. The older ones especially, yearn for the good old USSR days, but the younger and better educated generation since have different view's. Do you think Putins present day Russia could exist in a western democracy? It's a mafia state.
I understand the tactical angle of removing the pipeline but still it doesnt stack up. The us wouldn't do it because the absolutely do not need to do it. If they wanted to pressure Germany, all they have to do is threaten to defend NATO, impose tariffs on German auto makers etc, they have many levers. They wouldn't ruin their credibility by unilaterally destroying a pipeline in Europe. They are in a position of strength, it's the last thing they need to do.
Occams razor applies here too.
The simplest explanation is that Putin blew it up to remove a negotiation tool from whoever wants to take him out.
Remember, this is russian infrastructure. So it's still "his" pipe. He's got a win win taking it out.
Barack obama
Ah sure, but what about Russia doing...hey look squirrel!
It was Eamon Ryan. He gets blamed for everything else, might as well blame him for this too
That Robert Kennedy assertion got me curious, so I looked back at the results of all of the Referenda held in this state.
There's been 38 of them and 3 of them passed by more than 85%:
Four more (including the most recent one on Divorce) all got between 80-85%
None of this is a comment on the veracity of the Russian sham referenda. They were a horrible and tragic joke and shouldn't be legitimised by anyone, anywhere.
18 more HIMARS on the way
If Russia blew the pipeline, just to show they could, their pleasure cruise off the Cork coast takes a more sinisiter turn....
I think we can agree that it hurts eu badly.
My doomsday scenario which is not inching ahead its hurtling ahead is ukr attack donbass after duma says its russian fired in an attak missiles (300km range plus) into russia or new russia
which before war biden had phone call with putin and said that is a red line. I think the madhouse that runs america not joe hes out to pasture will supply them soon.
I then see russia atacking ramstein us base im germany with hypersonic missiles and then ...
We are fkd.
True!!! But I don't think that there's a word in the English language to accurately describe her...( whatever she may be...🙂
Who we talking about?
That makes sense if you are not using your head and don't believe your head will have a worthwhile use in the future.
What is that pipeline going to be used for? The reality is, it can be used as a) removal of a negotiation tool for whoever is going to replace Putin and b) put the **** up Europe for the rest of its supply.
there are numerous other places to be hit before Ramstein, particularly if Russia is attempting a first strike
The one and only..........Olga Skabeyeva. That bastion of truthfulness.
No we can't. The gas in those pipelines has not been flowing for some time and Putin had stated that they would remain in that state until such time as sanctions were lifted.
Sanctions weren't going to be lifted while Russia were in Ukraine, especially when they're on the back foot.
The eu and usa tanks if they get them are far too heavy for russian autum winter any thoughts?
