Just an FYI - there's no such think as a she-witch. Witch is already feminine. 🙂
As was seen in that movie " Enemy at the gate", where whatever chance you had facing the Germans, retreating you had none because they had machine guns set up to discourage any such retreating notions.
You in that post, imagining your opinions are somehow facts... they're not. They're just opinions.
Oh, and there were zero insults in my reply, so not sure where you're getting that from? We're all a bunch of nobody's on the internet, expressing our opinions.
Like I said, I'll make my own mind up thanks.
My money is firmly on Ruzkiss blowing up the pipes, simply because they are pointing the finger at Joe. Before they did that, I was unsure. You can count of them to always go for a lie and an obfuscation, not to say gaslighting (no pun intended, honestly!), as the first principle.
Major projection mentality. As with the assurances they won’t invade, the Moskva chip-pan accident etc. Whatever they say they didn’t or won’t do, they did and will do - and vice versa. I don’t think they can help it at all, it’s firmly embedded in their mentality, going by the last few months. All part of the 4D chess master players delusion.
We have a new Russia after the referendum, notice they still kept Kaliningrad
This is where I am.It has removed a bargaining chip for Russia, which is why it seems strange that Russia would have done it.
There is a high likelihood that those pipes will now be useless - the gas will blow out of them, they'll fill with saltwater.
I still would put nothing past Russia, but on this one I admit, I really can't see who would be responsible.
I'd *imagine that valves could be closed at certain stages leaving just one stage "flooded" that could be individually repaired.
The next question is whether russia have sent anyone to assess the damage and limit the impact.
I would think this is very unlikely.
Putin is not universally liked, but then neither is the west.
The west is praying for a revolt or someone to take out Putin, but Russians really don't like when the west tries to tell them how to run their country. Or interfere in their region in general. And besides, there are many people in Russia who share Putin's views on Ukraine. (even if they don't necessarily agree with his present actions there)
They're leaving Kaliningrad for Germany.
I don't think it is approachable at present.
Unless putin has decided bargaining time is over, this is now a war with Europe and the US/NATO, so I'll blow the two pipelines as a final act of "negotiation". Now both the US and the Russians have been denying and pointing the finger at each other, but nobody's being close to certain and "official" yet, or it's not gone public.
Still it's all very odd, serves pretty much nobody and escalates things even more. It's at times like this that simple mistakes on one side or the other can get very real, very quickly and escalate beyond the initial battlefield and get much worse.
Would anyone like to wager a guess on what is likely to happen when the Ukraine army pushes into the Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, or as the Kremlin likes to called them "Russia" ? I know there are expectations of the war quietening down as winter sets in, but surely we're near a tipping point now ?
Can't see Russia being so accommodating for Ukrainian prisoner's:-
Rest in Peace ➕
Doesn't it get Gazprom off the hook for Billions in fines now though or something?
Nate
Exactly what is he/she looking for? 15 rubles per post as promissed by Ragozin. 😁
Please don't make this many blind assumptions, if you do ever decide to engage in a high level game of chess.
Wrecking the gaff so if someone else takes power they have a massive mountain to climb to get back to a functioning state. As far as the current regime is concerned these ties are already cut and done with.
I dont get your frustration. Don't recall we were actually inviting a ruSSian bot to discuss anything. You decided to join anyway and now you seem to be p1ssed we dont play your game?
Lol don’t you worry about my “blind assumptions”, I like observing human behaviour and I’ll be just fine.
Ruzzkis, however, … ;)
...
Pretty much this. In pretty much all societies the vast majority tacitly go with the flow, whatever that flow is. Until something massively upsets that flow. If this site were around in 1935 Germany the majority would be backing the government and any who didn't would be denounced, or ignored. Human nature. It takes a lot to change the flow.
Those who don't support putin or have issues with how their country is doing things are more likely to stay quiet, or fall back on "our enemies are out to get us"(which governments, especially martial ones play on), or quite simply leave. And a fair few have, especially since the war kicked off and now with mobilisation. Russia already has a bad demographics problem which this conflict will worsen.
Waterford Whispers always delivers. 😁
Posted this yesterday,it's a great video something we've not seen in this war
Russian hospitality is well known
I just do not see what advantage there is to Russia to damage the gas pipelines, yet I wouldn’t be surprised if they were in fact behind it. I would also be suspicious of the US who have been opposed to Russian gas supplying the EU for a long time. Whoever did it is creating a serious escalation - dangerous move.
Yep.
About the sham referendums in Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, etc, The reported 98 or 99% voting "Yes" indicates that the Russian authorities are hopeless at propaganda. Results like this are totally incredible, especially given the context. Was it Robert Kennedy who said that not matter how reasonable the proposal you will always find at least 15% disagreeing?
All I have seen so far are the ridiculous Y/N percentages. How many voted? what was the % turnout? (Of course the presupposes there was an electoral register). How many of the population were displaced, whether to Russia or the West?
While the referendums were a total farce and completely illegitimate, questions like these should be asked, even if only to put the Russians on the spot (they will probably produce more lies and nonsense in their defence)
I am sure thats as valid as their referendums
It is actually mindboggling that people here cannot or dont wont to see it was usa.
Firstly biden is on record saying ns2 would not go ahead
Secondly niland said similar.
Russia destroys years of work and billions of dollars for what???
Loses levarage on turning gas on again
Russia can just turn tap off completly why on earth blow it up.
Usa did this
To block any negotions or back sliding in eu economies desperate for energy.
Usa now can supply eu with more lnb and dictate policy
Any protests now well go for it no going back now its fubarred for good.
Geo politically take eu further away from russia.
Finally it is a beyond a rectless act that pushes us much closer to all out war.
Remember bo listening in on merkel?
Some ally freezing eu citizens to death this winter...
