Sale Aggred-Change Solicitor

Hi,

Sale Agreed Last month .Contracts are issued to the solicitor.But the Solicitor seems slow or poor communication.The Loan offer pack is not yet send to her and the contracts are not signed.But the time period to sign the contract is nearing.How will this affect if I change the solicitor at this stage and how can I seek an extension to the timeframe to sign the contract

This doesnt sound unusual at all. You are likely to have the same issues with a new solicitor so why bother moving.

The problem is that you are not her only client - you are one of many clients who want everything done now. All you can do is keep emailing her and reminding her.

Hang in there all will work out.

Talk to your solicitor, not estate agents. At this stage in the process the estate agent is useless in the process they just poke their nose in to check how their commission is doing.

As I understand it, solicitors like to sign loan contracts and buying contracts at the same time so this must be the delay. Makes sense that they’d want to make sure you have the funds in place before signing!!

The solicitor is not going to let you sign a purchase contract without loan approval and without sight of the loand conditions. for the fees you are paying, they are not going to give ypou a course in conveyancing, contract law and land law either.

You are going to be living in this house for while, the purchase takes as long as it take. What if they pull as fast one and your solicitor missed it
