Speaking of the UN it would be epic if Ukraine got the Russkies booted off the security council on a technicality
They're parroting the Russian Ministry of Defence. If they believe anything that crowd says (give its track record of spouting easily verifiable lies) then there is no hope for them.
Russian ministry of lies, deception and misinformation?
The Blyatstan ministry that claimed to have destroyed 44 himars even though only 20 have been delivered.
Lot of bots on either side claiming they have made huge gains/pushbacks in Kherson. You'd want to be a right thick to believe anything coming out of there at the minute. Time will tell.
Sure there's nothing but claims here about either side without evidence. That's the fuel for this entire thread.
Bent over a barrel by Poland? How could Poland do that to Germany ha. Would you ever get a grip. Germany has already said it won’t be entertaining the circus.
The guy who said that is like a mini Putin himself. He has said Germany is trying to turn the EU in the fourth reich and that gay people shouldn’t be allowed to be teachers. Here he is talking about Ireland a couple of years ago. Putin would be proud. ““Those who do not fight – and there are many examples in Europe – have lost,” Mr Kaczynski said.
He claimed Ireland was an example of this and is now a “Catholic wilderness with rampant LGBT ideology”.
He added: “I will not let us be defeated by…this threat to the very foundations of our civilisation.”
They have “gay free” areas now in Poland as well lol
There’s elections coming up soon and it’s just more bs from the polish government who love eu money but don’t want to follow the rules along with their bandit friends in Hungary.
Poland packing the courts with political appointees and suppressing media freedom and pushing propaganda. Just because they support Ukraine(because they hate Russia) people have this distorted notion of them while their government actually has a lot of the same tactics as Putin when it comes press freedom etc but obviously nowhere near extreme as they wouldn’t get away with it.
You constantly have people on this thread saying Poland etc will take over from France and Germany political as the main power after this war. God help us if they do because their government is a scummy pound shop version of Russia.
Poland has fallen to its lowest ever position, 66th out of 180 countries, in the World Press Freedom Index. The result marks a fall of two places from last year’s ranking and is the seventh year running that Poland’s position has declined from its highest ever position of 18th in 2015.
Reporters Without Borders, the NGO that compiles the index, classifies the situation in Poland as “problematic”, describing the country as an “illiberal democracy” where intense media polarisation is fuelled by suppression of independent journalism as the government has consolidated its control over public broadcasting and pursued a strategy of “re-Polonising” privately owned media.
“After turning the public media into instruments of propaganda, the government has multiplied its attempts to change the editorial line of private media and control information on sensitive subjects.”
The public media, however, especially the TVP public television network, have become government propaganda instruments.
The government has also threatened the independence of private media, with a state-owned company purchasing 20 of 24 regional newspapers; TVN, the biggest independent media group, facing pressures by means of “politicised regulation and tailor-made legislation”; and “regular attacks” on “overly critical journalists” from members of the government.
There have been increased verbal attacks on journalists and attempts to discourage those covering gender-related or LGBT+ issues, while blasphemy remains punishable by imprisonment, found RSF.
It goes on and on.
There's been thousands of pieces of evidence posted since day one of the invasion, while many on here still denied Russia invaded ukraine because they didn't see any evidence.
The same Poland doing more for ukraine than Germany is .
Imagine that copy and paste for nothing
OK, but that's a straw man because I didn't say there hasn't been evidence shared here either.
You yourself only shared a social media post today about an alleged evacuation of Zaporizhzhia with no evidence to back the claims.
I'm sure it's normal to have allegations and reports without evidence in a situation like this, you rely on them as much as the people you're now giving out about.
You’re cheer leading a scummy mini version of Putin. Was just pointing that out to you incase you weren’t aware but seems like don’t care… and because others stating Poland etc will take over politically from France and Germany in Europe after this. Well if Poland and their ilk like Hungary do(they won’t) we’d be living in a mini Russia ourselves in Europe with their backward scummy ways.
Seems propaganda, homophobic, free press denying monsters don’t bother you as long as they support Ukraine which is just hilarious as that’s what Ukraine is currently fighting against themselves. Hypocrisy much . Anyway doses galore.
Ukrainians and the West should not fall for Russian information operations portraying the Ukrainian counteroffensive in Kherson Oblast as having failed almost instantly or that depict Ukraine as a helpless puppet of Western masters for launching it at this time. The Russian Ministry of Defense began conducting an information operation to present Ukraine’s counteroffensive as decisively failed almost as soon as it was announced on August 29.
Several prominent military bloggers—even bloggers who have historically been critical of the Kremlin—are promoting this message.Other milbloggers are additionally promoting the narrative that Ukraine’s Western handlers pushed Ukraine to launch the counteroffensive prematurely and/or too late for “political” reasons and because the West expected a counteroffensive. Kremlin media outlets have also centrally amplified allegations of civil-military conflict between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi to bolster the narrative that Zelensky sought to conduct a counteroffensive for inappropriate political reasons whereas Zaluzhnyi assessed Ukrainian forces were not militarily prepared to do so.

Who is this for, I'm not even commenting on this offensive? I hope the Ukrainians pull through and drive the Russians back to Russia, but this isn't the discussion I'm having right now.
Are Russia still burning off gas?
The poster has a point, we should be just as concerned by PiS and their actions to undermine, freedom of speech and compliance with the European Court of Justice as we are with Germany's response and actions to the war. Both undermine EU stability in different ways.
I haven't made any threads on here for years but my ancient post history confronts me if I go to my profile page and one of them from 2007, was about the Polish Law and Justice party trying to drag war dead (& German generational war guilt) into a row about how the Polish voting weight in the EU parliament should be increased.
They've been at that stuff about Germany's eternal shame & guilt, the Nazis, how it will always owe Poland reparations etc. for decades now. Basic populism, but I suspect (?) it doesn't play so well as a vote getter with the younger generations, as WW2 is quite a long time ago.
They are absolutely useless IMO, about the only thing they have done right in years is their support for Ukraine and what kind of crazy Polish govt. wouldn't do that given Poland is probably next on the Russian chopping block (if they succeeded in Ukraine)
Poland has about as much chance of getting that money in compensation as Ireland would if it sued Britain for the famine and the black and tans. A load of hot air from a pathetic government that can offer its citizens no bright vision of the future and can therefore only drag up German war guilt nearly 80 years after the war ended
Who knows maybe Germany might agree to a settlement,
Nobody on here knows for certain what Germany will or will not do ,
Considering not so long ago people suggested putin was afraid of Merkel, and look how that turned out
The war in Ukraine: in the Kherson region, the commander of the occupiers accidentally pricked elite special forces — Ukraine — tsn.ua
take a wild guess
Just like how they handled the bodies of those who died in Chernobyl from radiation poisoning.
Not to mention that they have no legal leg to stand on. Poland signed away any reparation payments in 1954 in order to nail down the Oder-Neisse line as the country's western border. This is just some pathetic theatrics for a domestic audience.
They are the Russian version of the Irish faulty concrete blocks issue.
Radiation knows no border, another veiled threat and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Yes.
In terms of what's happening on the fronts the best indicators are some of the Telegram channels. And FIRMs. Places on the frontline that are getting shelled is usually the Russians if they have lost ground at the location.
It seems Ukraine has rotated it's troops in Kherson with freshly trained and non-battle weary ones for one thing.
"London: The chairman of Russia’s Lukoil, one of the few companies to criticise the war in Ukraine, has died after falling six floors from a Moscow hospital window, the latest in a string of high-profile business executives to die in mysterious circumstances.
Ravil Maganov, one of the longest-serving executives at Russia’s second-largest oil producer, had “passed away following a severe illness”, the company confirmed on Thursday evening AEST. State-linked media, citing anonymous law enforcement sources, said he was being treated at Moscow’s Central Clinical Hospital for heart problems and his death was being treated as suicide." https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/lukoil-boss-whose-company-condemned-ukraine-invasion-found-dead-after-hospital-fall-20220902-p5bes5.html
Another Putin ordered assassination.
Why are these guys getting assassinated? Are they not towing the putin line?
No if you challenge putin,
your flying without wings
Russian tank presumably being sent back for repair. Note the barrels on them.
The Kremlin announced they had destroyed 44 HiMars systems in Ukraine very recently.
Ukraine only ever received 16 HiMars and they are all still active today
That's a translation mistake... it's 44 HiMacs belonging to Ukrainian farmers
