Is getting married the most stupid thing you could do?

I have yet to figure out why anyone would want to get married. I think a huge percentage of marriages are because its the done thing rather than something people really want. Chances of it lasting especially these days aren't great in my opinion. So out you go from the nice house into a small apartment. Plus you have to stick with the same person for the rest of your life. I meet women most days that I fancy, if I was married I couldn't go on a date with them or anything.

People are putting themselves in both sets of shoes all the time. Why would the woman think like that? Obviously because forcing those things is to her advantage. This is the way the law is and everyone knows it.

Yeah but what about when you're 50? Then all other birds your age will be married, and any young ones will think you're weird to be hitting on them. People will assume that the reason you're not married is because nobody could stand you, or because there's something wrong about you.

That's all well and good when you're rich or famous. If you're not famous, then it's going to be pretty lonely after 50. This should be moved to the gentlemen's club.

You sign up to that indirectly anytime you've sex with any woman! Whatever rights you have as a married father, you've a hell of a lot less if you're unmarried.

In the vast majority of cases I don't think it's stupid to married.

What I do think is stupid tough is people who

Get married fast, especially after having failed marriages already.

People who get married because there friends are doing it.(I know of cases where there was a couple and the bride to be friends took the fella aside and told him to propose).

People who get married for their parents.

Also, people who have a certain style of wedding because it's the done thing or to keep others happy.

Marriage is definitely not for everyone. I think if you marry someone you are settling for then you are probably going to end up in an unhappy marriage and/or divorce.

If you find someone that you have great fun with, you want similar things in life, there is mutual respect and trust and are both committed to each other then marriage can be right for that couple.

Knowing your own or someone else's blood type is completely irrelevant to any medially significant situation. Do you really think a surgeon is going to blindly trust a random stranger or whatever letter you scribbled on a tatty donor card in your wallet to get it it right while you're bleeding out on a trolley and in need of an transfusion? They test your blood before they pump a load of someone else's into you. And they will 100% work without consent if you're dying in front of them - again, do you think that they have time to double check that the random person standing there saying "Oh yeah sure, I'm his next of kin. He always told me he didn't want to be saved if he got mangled in a combine harvester accident" actually has any legal or ethical authority in the situation?

What an odd point of view, a doctor can't guess your blood type, and they usually don't operate without consent. But sure they'll just throw the O neg in if there's any available that day and hope for the best.

I go on the odd date here and there. I get asked out quiet a bit but I have commitment issues so I reject a lot of them. I could go on at least 1 date a week if I wanted to. I work in a job where im meeting a lot of people, that is why I get asked out quiet a bit. im not a bad looking guy and have plenty of money so I suppose that is why, but a lot of them are gold diggers from what I can see so I stay well away from them.

Next of kin matters if you're having a heart attack or bleeding out from an ulcer, unconscious on your kitchen floor. Your live-in Non-wife calls the ambulance. They arrive, and can't ask her the questions about blood type, your recent activities, she can't go in the ambulance with you. Surgery needed? She can't consent. Instead they have to go find your mother somewhere.

Maybe you still live with your mother. But usually, your spouse is there handy and knows you reasonably well.

So when you see a huge number of people doing something you don’t understand, you assume the are doing something they don’t want to do, not the other way around? And 0.6 per per 1000 people is a huge….. you are entitled to your opinion but try to ground it in reality.

According to divorce lawyers the number reason for divorce is a lack of commitment so it probably best if people with negative views on marriage avoid because it probably won’t work out for them in any case.
