They would lose most of their seats if there was a GE any time soon, but that's more about SF swallowing the entire left/progressive voter than about anything they've done or not done in government.
Should the Greens walk now? Wonder what their voters think of them? Not a great day really all round for them.
Govt on 82 without the Provisional Greens.
It's delicious and I confess to be delighted 😁
Lots of puns on this but it looks like a lot of pressure is being applied to the Greens by FF/FG. The turf thing seemed to create serious panic among the rural FF/FG TDs. It will be interesting to see if the Greens will happily vote against SF's MNOC.
Regards...jmcc
Thanks 😉
600m according to a PQ
As an aside the SF website is awful. Sinn Fein Childcare gives me their 2016 proposals. Others are probably no better to be fair
Well the longer they say in government the more votes they will loose at the next election. As you said people are sick of virtue signalling and a money tree that didn't exist suddenly appearing.
Just voted, I'm hesitant about an election now, not because I want this shower around to much longer, just concerned at even more uncertainty in an already chaotic situation. But I see more leaning towards wanting an election 😉
You will notice the usual FFG crew on here have not voted.
Will do 😉
Here ya go

Pippa Hackett on The Week in Politics yesterday. Role a little elevated for her i thought.
I thought that comment from MM Hillarious, leader of a party with 14% support 😂
Have you a link to that thread 🤔
I'm not even a political Junkie and I can point out the Hypocrisy of FG with a basic check on facts 😉
A certain FFG follower on here said the party you dare not name has done this on numerous occasions.
Meanwhile Michael Martin said earlier today that the general public don't want a general election now. So I created a poll in another thread to see if this is true.
Everybody with any political smarts at all knows this. Denyinhg or pretending they wouldn't all do this is the usual barefaced hypocrisy to avoid dealing with the issues which have brought us to a MONC juncture.
Edit
What's the current spend by government on childcare annually out of curiosity, if you know 🤔
I suspect we'll be mid table tbh.
Was just reading SFs childcare policy. Only 400m spent annually on childcare seems much lower then expected. Given the vast amount of finding poured into black holes. Spending on improving this and allowing families where both work to have more kids would seem an open goal.
LOL, it's almost funny at this stage 😉
Just saw these stats (hope I don't start another bout of of analysing) 😁
From Sept 2007 to June 2010, during the worst economic crisis ever faced by the state, Fine Gael introduced 3 no-confidence motions in the govts of the 30th Dáil.
FG now have the audacity to criticise a party I dare not name, for calling its first no-confidence motion in the govt since Feb 2017.
Beginning to wonder how stable the Government really is when I hear Gavin Reilly mentioning General Elections earlier on this evening.
Tranactional politics? 😁
O dear more lessons being learned, this time the Greens, Timing of the climbdown rather convenient 😁
MONC a waste of time is it....
how do you know what happened?
It's clear channels were opened to try and influence, why that didn't succeed is not clear and needs to be.
I have no opinions on Uber one way or another.
Well you are correct that it isn't a non-story.
Essentially, the story demonstrates that the then FG government didn't cave into pressure from Uber unlike other governments across the EU. Good for them, don't you agree?
Or are you in favour of Uber?
The opposition got called out last week on their “alternative budget”…seemingly they have released a few in the last few weeks
Need to get some time to come up with another “alternative budget” so throw out a handy old motion to delay all conversations in the Dail…..takes time to fire up the old calculator
No hiding from the abysmal truth when that's in place.
Ireland is one of the best countries in the World to live in,
The government represent the people that voted them in
I do like the odd rant but not really making any valid points, ireland has problems, nobody is denying that but so does every country in the World
”migration crisis”? People in ireland always travelled, in fact I would recommend it. Too many people stuck in the same spot they grew up in and no idea what the rest of the World is like
Me auld friend Hughie!
I would imagine there's a raft of FOI requests going in to have a proper look at these Uber revelations.
