haha hard to beat a bushpig tbf! I've to rebuild the front caliper though, think the front seal is gone on the DR650
Ah the R100 is coming on well, I think I spent more time trying to work out where i put something than actually working on the damn bike.
I've sorted the electronics (I hope) and redid the paint work over the last month, the lacquer was ****, so sanded it back and reapplied it using the aerosol 2K stuff.
I'm flat out with work during the rest of the month though, so not entirely sure when I get to turn the bike on for the first time.
I've to add two resistors to the LED bulb indicators as well to stop the warning light from showing a blownbulb on the console.
About 250km from full to the light coming on - mostly taking it handy on small roads. On Autoroutes I’d be filling it every hour or so.
One thing I learned about the automated pumps at the supermarkets and filling stations that I hadn’t realised before. I’ve been using them for years with the motorhome. Authorise 120 or 150 Euro and fill up with around 100 or more Euro. With the bike the amounts were a lot smaller obviously so only then did I notice that the transaction tied up the entire pre-authorised amount as a pending transaction which meant the money was gone for a week until it got released. At one pumps I filled up (21 Euro and 120 Pending) and then did a local man a favour by taking a 20 Euro note of him and putting the same that into his car as his card wasn’t working ( again another 120 tied up!) I didn’t notice until when I got home. Lesson learned.
Here are some pics I took today

This was a game changer - looks horrible but it really is the business.
How did you arrive at the values for the resistors? Trying to solve a problem that isn’t related to this forum. Thanks !
What are you looking to do with them?
I took a measure of the resistance of a single OEM / filament bulb
The resistance of one bulb was 5ohm so I ordered two 10 ohm / 50 watt resistors to wire in parallel with the front indicators.
The wattage is only high so they don't burn out
Emulating the OEM fuel filter sensors in a Fiat Ducato that I replaced with a simpler setup. I need to deal with the Engine Management light. Obvious now you say it. I’ll take a multimeter to an old one and work from there. Ta..
No worries!
A quick run of a cloth on these two and then it's off spinning on the ZZR for the afternoon and tomorrow it will be out on the Tuono for the day.
Spin and more achieved.
Came across another zzr grrrrr!
Got to take this f800st for a cut.
Good bike on the back roads actually even if the suspension needed attention.
And got to wallow in my own misery for a few minutes that I didn't buy this bike when it was for sale and cheap. 😭
Its actually kind of the complete opposite, in the sense they used to be a bit unreliable but used to be easy to fix and are now just as unreliable but are a dog to repair.
My 2014 899 (daily commuter) blew a head gasket, Robbie in mototechnic wouldn't go near it and neither would anyone except Ducati Dublin and NI, the cost to repair was about 4 grand because the whole bike has to be split in half and it's about 30 hours labour they said.
Wouldn't touch one again as much as I love them.
Regarding buying a new Ducati, now I'm talking 20k+ bikes, my last bike that I bought last year was an 20+ S1000RR because I'd never buy Ducati again be aware great mechs like Robbie are great but they don't have the software to service new bikes and they will never because its closed off. I love Robbie but this needs to be known, lads like this can't do anything with new bikes.
It's main dealers or nothing when you are talking very very new or very high end.
The bikes are basically computers with engine's.
Nice out already

Surprised my wife with an early 40th birthday birthday present. 2022 Honda Grom. Beast of a bike !! As you can see she looks delighted with it.
'City spares' is still in business then, I had not seen them advertise much lately and was wondering about them.
Very much so. They're celebrating 60 years in business next week.
2022 RSV4 Factory
Yes... it's very fast
That's a beauty. I actually stopped in the very same spot to get a pic of my SV last year. I left it on the yellow lines though!
Sweet!!!!!!
Love gold wheels!
