May as well start the ball rolling.
Norrie doesn't have a prayer. Can't see him winning more than 10-12 games, let alone a set. Djokovic is the best grass court player of the last 10 years, Norrie is a bit of a journeyman
Nadal v Kyrgios has all the hallmarks for a bad tempered classic - hope it is😎 it's hard to predict what with Nadal's never say die attitude and Kyrgios's service game is impeccable at the moment
*Nadal never flinched when he was asked about Kyrgios in the post-match interview, the crowd went ooooooooooooohhh but he didn't respond, hard to tell how he really feels about Nick the Prick
Ok. I’ll go with Nadal in 4 sets..
Kyrgios's serve has been very strong.
Nadal was not that convincing yesterday
of course not writing him off - just explaining the odds
You could make a lot of money by backing Norrie then at over 10 to 1
Personally I'd be surprised if he can trouble Djokovic
I wasn't really surprised that Sinner had the capability to really test Djokovic (and could have won) but it would surprise me if Norrie could do the same.
Djokovic has a reasonable record at Wimbledon when facing crowds rooting for the other player also!
(btw - PED drug cheating speculation is not really encouraged - that's different to the points the cyclists brought up)
Information is sparse enough - try googling the issue and you'll several articles querying how rigorous the system is. Sharapova is the most famous example but that was, what 8 years ago. Who/ how many in the top 50 have been found with an issue in recent years? The sport is either remarkably clean or the alternative. Power and endurance are both required in the modern player, both areas that have attracted help from substances in other sports. Then you look at some of the women players and only speaking of their body shape and build, they must do a fierce amount of work in the gym and/or could they possibly be bulking up muscle by the likes of steroid use? Then like Glasso says, there's also a very wavy line between treatment for pain and enabling someone to perform better. I honestly don't know but at same time I don't believe in some of what we see.
Anyway, like to see the German Maria progress today but she's had a good run and it may come to an end now.
In the mens, I wouldn't rule out Norrie. He's shown great resilience to date, the crowd will be 99% behind him, that'll rattle Novak a bit and worth points at critical moments.
All logic says that Krygios should be beat Nadal in his current state.......but.............
Yeah im of the same thinking , 5/1 seems decent for a small stake. Jury is still very much out on Jabeur in the slams too.
I might have missed something, but why is Kyrgios favorite v Nadal? Is Nadal hobbling around or something?
Wouldn't dare make a prediction there - she has defied the odds and taken out some substantial opponents in the previous rounds.
Anybody reckon 5/1 is good odds on tatjana maria today? I feel like a womens semi final should never be 5/1. They are pretty unpredictable affairs
Gonna be a Novak and Kygrios final.
he's a lovely lad really 😏

On the flip side I'd rather see Nadal win Wimbdledon than Kyrgios - couldn't bear to see that odious yoke Kyrgios gloating around -
I don't remotely buy into the "he's good for tennis / just a character" concept
Apologies. My hatred for Kyrgios, coupled with the fact he is likely to make the final (and possibly win) is clouding matters at present!
it was just a question.
and fair enough you provided an answer.
no need to go off on one!
i presume they're all drug tested after each match?
Ah, neither outcome is going to cause me any pain 🤣
We don't all obsess and fanboy over certain players. Not all like you with a myopic view of tennis and an unrelenting hard on for Djokovic.
But, fwiw, I would favour Djoko as I can't stand Kyrgios.
I wouldn't say that but the cyclists do make some valid and interesting points - certainly worthy of a conversation around where healing starts and ends and where is the limit crossed over into performance as they said.
Well you know the old cliché - if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck etc - then it's a duck.
Some cyclists recently offered a perspective on that
Another French rider followed up on the issue on Tuesday, with Guillaume Martin speaking extensively to French newspaper L’Equipe.
“What Nadal did would have been impossible in cycling, and I find that normal,” the Cofidis rider said, referring to the UCI’s no-needle policy that was introduced in 2011.
“If you’re ill or injured, you don’t race, you don’t compete, that makes sense to me, for several reasons. Firstly, for the health of athletes. In the long-term I’m not sure that will do any good to Nadal’s ankle. Moreover, medication - and especially injections - don’t just have a healing effect; they can certainly have effects on performance or be twisted to improve performance, so it seems to me to be very much on the limit.”
Is there something wrong with the state of the game? Nadal has some ongoing foot problem, yesterday abdominal pain - gets painkillers and away he goes, bouncing & running around the court like a bunny. Regularly beating lads 10 years younger in the prime of their athletic lives. I have my doubts.
wrong on Tan - no, said she wouldn't threaten for the title and going out in the 4th round she didn't.
Watson out too same round.
Are you there? oh you're banned - bad luck.
seems the inevitable happened as predicted...
so what would "pain" you more?
+ Crowd Spitter, "default him now" opponent crier, umpire incessant rubbish talker, accused domestic abuser etc Kyrgios to win
+ Djokovic to win
Not a chance is he beating Kyrgios and Djokovic back to back.
I can actually see Kyrgios going all the way, as much as it pains me to say it
:D
It's guaranteed , the calendar slam is written in the stars for him this year
Having got up to speed on tennis I don't rate nadals chances
Hadn't heard of krygios prior to this Should be interesting him and Nadal
Nadal is annoying as fukk to watch always scowling and timewasting
Nadal would have you believe at times that he's the "Caballero Negro" lol
Good actors for sure .
Grand slam 23 coming up for the arse picker
Watchin borg & mac back in the day is like watching tennis in slow motion - not saying it was bad just that it was a totally different game back then what with the wooden rackets, the state of the courts, the fitness of the players, todays fitness levels are way higher modern players are more like athletes todays game is all about power & endurance but back then it was more touch & finesse (imo)
The match was like watching paint dry, apart from the drama
Nadal doesn't help much with his attitude and scowling throughout
