So if I want to push to Jan Feb 23, do I need to call tesla (is there a number to call)? Do I just leave balance unpaid and reject collection date?

You wait until you get the text to say a car is allocated to you. You can’t do anything until then.
It asked if you are accepting this delivery. You say no.
I have heard conflicting reports, some say you just contact Tesla and request them to put a hold on your order (for a specified time or until you notify them to lift the hold) and they will usually oblige, although rumoured also not to be as flexible as before as many were, extending the hold period several times, in effect locking in lower price and speculating. Status on account seems also to reflect this hold status and allow you to automate the lifting ( if this image is still accurate)

It might work but I'm not aware of anyone in the UK or IRL that have been able to do it in recent times.
Some guys in UK have managed to get 6 month extension in March of this year...but i was unsure if that was a helpful Tesla employee that obliged or policy

I ordered last September, contacted them the next day to delay until Jan for 221 and picked up the car in march. Contact them just after ordering and tell them the date you would like and you will get a car that comes in in the next batch after that date, it is no problem.ive been through it. :)
I went for the blue with black interior, primarily to stay within the grant limit.
As for delivery dates, it looks like pushing out delivery to next year 'should' be possible for anyone who wants to do so. The risk with that is that there's no guarantee that the grant will be available in '23, assume we won't find out until the budget later this year.
Personally it would suit me better to take delivery in Q1 next year. However, if it arrives in Aug/Sep, then I think I will accept it really looking forward to moving away from ICE as soon as possible.

It seems GigaShanghai will be undergoing upgrades/disruptions in July/August. That must raise serious doubts about the current EDD we are seeing.

Personally I am not at all convinced about the latest revisions to EDD of August to Oct as being accurate for cars ordered a week ago!. There is already a huge backlog from Shanghai disruptions, UK market is a volume market and experiencing long delays and shortfalls form Q2 deliveries ..i cant reconcile all of these and given the planned disruptions this quarter all conspire against these EDD. Berlin is only ramping up and focusing on Model Y Performance for now.
I am surprised also at no price rise. They all happened for Australia, US, UK and in the. past Ireland has followed suit. For once in my life I am hoping for a price increase as it locks in price for my recent order and increases value of by 2022 Model 3.
There's a bit of wiggle room above the current base (in white with aero wheels) M3SR for a price increase but it might soon be the case than any color or any change to interior or wheels costs you the cost of the change + loss of 5k grant
With escalation in petrol prices cost of living increase and environmental commitments, I cant see the Government removing the EV grant at budget in October . Might just be the time to incentive change over and increase it!
They scrapped the grant for PHEVs unexpectedly last year, but I think very unlikely they will do same for BEV at this point in time.
I know it's not going to happen, but I would prefer to see VRT abolished on EVs and the grant (Or reduced grant) only available on lower priced cars. This would bring us more in line with the rest of Europe. Lower priced cars would remain similar enough to now, but because it would benefit the majority of more expensive family sized EVs, it is probably a non runner.
If the country is serious about transitioning from ICE, then we need more sales of EVs; the ones that manufacturers are presently producing are more expensive here than other European countries, mainly due to VRT (But also our higher VAT). How else will we have a supply of second hand cars in the future?
The word 'Grant' implies the government are giving (often wealthier purchasers) something for nothing. Reducing taxation often doesn't look so bad..🙂
Got a text back from tesla number I was dealing with for the trade in quote, that I text about the delivery time coming in. Said the "estimation" can come in but it's "purely just a guide". If I want to push back, then contact them when I get delivery date and they will "see what options are open to me at the time".
Bit ambiguous but looks like an option to push out. He doesn't sound confident on the August to October window.

Got an update yesterday, Tesla cancelled the service. They said that it's a known issue with the firmware on the charge port ECU and that no hardware has to be replaced. They expect the problem to be fixed in the 2022.24 software update. They said if the problem persists I've to try turning off sentry mode, lock the car and walk away for a few minutes so the car goes asleep, then unlock the car and try charging again as this will be the equivalent of a 'modem reset'
Luckily I've only had one issue CCS charging since, and that sorted itself out by reinserting the plug.
Amazing how often this fixes things 😂
Ordered my blue RWD model 3 last week with an estimated date of end Jan - end March. Now it's saying 15 Aug -14 September. Not sure what's going on .
