May as well start the ball rolling.
I would think so....it looks really sheltered. The Draper court (12 I think) it has been genuinely a bit blustery occasionally.
John Inverdale is abysmal.
Draper now two sets up looking good, in truth very little between them but he has played the big points very well
How lightly is he to keep it together, not very!, plus there's a question mark over his stamina if he does progress. He has the ability, but, his mentality and attitude is shocking, if he was serious about his tennis career, he'd get a coach like Lendl who'd straighten him out, probably gone beyond that point now though.
The man is a terrible commentator.
I've no idea how Kyrios is a big favourite over Shapavalov given there pedigree. I'll be surprised if Kyrgios makes it past the third round without getting injured or fatigue eliminating him.
Draper managed to take Bergs to a tiebreaker in the third set. But it was a serious struggle! Bergs missed three set points. His grunting is extremely off putting and loud on some shots...really distracting.
Draper through in three sets. Very tidy player, solid, a really good prospect. Really enjoyable that was!
Alex De Minaur will be tough but I wouldn't totally rule him out.
Shapolvalov has gone out in his first match in 3 successive weeks at grass court tournaments this month to players ranked well below him
Cerundolo takes third set against Nadal!
Inverdale and Henman as a double act....talk about a charisma vacuum....
Nadal saves three break points.
Some massive hitting!
I thought that Cressy might have the game to give FAA a match and he has.
1 set all and 2-2
Cressy has an old-school game that is suited to grass.
Still would expect FAA to come through
Cerundolo does break this time... Nadal is in bother here...
Upset alert on center court. Nadal in all sorts of trouble
You'd swear this is the first time some of you have seen rafa play.
Not looking like it now.
Cerundolo had chances to be up a double break....but in real bother now
Nadal through that was a seriously good match. He had to hang in there at times!
I see Dan Evans is having a bit of a nightmare!
I was wondering what the deal is with Serena Williams and the black tape on her face? Seemingly to relieve sinus pain, that's a new one on me.
If Serena Williams can go deep in Wimbledon at 40...having only played a couple of doubles games in the last year...it would be pretty damning of the woman's game.
Williams starting to find her feet a bit, despite being a break down. Her power is still unreal but she unsurprisingly lacks a bit of mobility so far.
I get the feeling her power will probably get her through this match....and she has broken back
Evans being given a right run around by Kubler!
Can't bring myself to watch the Serena match - a 40 year old who hasn't played in a year against a debutante. I'm sure there must be better matches the Beeb could show.
Evans getting thick now, "f*cking sh*t" and smashing his racket off the ground - surprised he's been let away with that!
Williams looking strong but immobile.
To be fair though, federer has done similarish, at a similar age and wouldnt have been as dominant as Serena during his career. - sorry wrong poster ,although ludicrous to suggest they shouldnt show Serena, ive never warmed to her but she deserves tv coverage like. Of course theres better matchs but of young bucks who have won shag all. This could easily be the last ever singles match serena plays - a 23 time slam champ.
To be fair though, federer has done similarish, at a similar age and wouldnt have been as dominant as Serena during his career.
Tan serving for the first set.
I expect Williams to come out guns blazing!
Not exactly he looked fit(ish) in 2021 plus he had played previous singles matches coming into Wimbledon including on grass.
Tan holds just about! And takes set.
Williams happy for break I would say.
As i said ish haha , either way doesnt look like much of an indictment atm!
Great win for Cressy! I know he made final at Eastbourne but still big scalp
Cracking win! Thought felix had a small outside chance of winning it all.
