I still think a long war is very risky for Putin. It's hard to imagine how it boosts him on the domestic stage - long wars are usually bad for business and are never popular with the public.
I was reading a book by British historian Ian Kershaw about the end of Nazi Germany and he argues that the longer and longer the war went on, the less popular Hitler was becoming by the month with the public, even by as early as mid 1942. This seems to be a recurring theme with most long wars.
Yet the Russians had to fight for every building in every city on the way to the bunker. Putin's popularity doesn't matter. The Russians are a slightly more "dignified" version of North Koreans. Behaviours have been imposed (well, some places never knew differently) for centuries of scumbag rulers and it's now an integral part of Russian culture and psyche to shrug at anything and everything.
Britain are going to train 10000 ukrainian soldiers
They are allready using old soviet stocks of Tocha U,Onyx anti ship missiles and airlaunched KH34/55 missiles with 1960s guidance and 60% failure rate
Even missiles doesnt like Russian orcs
It's always good to declutter!
Yeah, poster above pointed out someone likely input their own coordinates by accident.
I was once talking to a potential job candidate over the phone while looking at their CV. They asked me my telephone number, and I gave them their own telephone number back to them from their CV. smh - not my proudest moment. People inexplicably do stupid things. At least the CV didn't explode.
The problem there was Russia were using their new voice activated AI smart guidance system.
It went like this: "Pushkin Missile Unit, target scumbag fascists in vicinity"
*Target acquired*
"Launch and destroy fascist"
*Missile launches and incenerates Russians*
There’s no way of knowing who, where or when this happened to 👀
Ah, Mk 14 Syndrome strikes again. Was the guidance system of that thing copied from old Bureau of Ordnance designs?
(Naval History buffs will get the reference)
Denys Davydov is a patriotic Ukrainian but doesn't avoid bad news.
Here on a tour with Operator Starsky, Ukrainian National Guardman and Youtuber. Visiting Hostomel airport, a scene of notable carnage in the early days and the destruction of the Antonov AN-225, said to be the largest aircraft on earth. The thumbnail aircraft is a far smaller AN-25A.
Running out of usable missiles would be a nice development, but an even better one would be running out of artillery shells, 'cause right now it seems like the Russians have enough of those to fire 24/7. Artillery of the Russian kind isn't known for its stupendous accuracy, but that can be offset somewhat by just raining it down under the old 'if you fire at everything, you'll eventually hit something' adage.
Anyway, what happened to the 'biggest tank battle since WW2'? Weren't pundits predicting that both forces were massing for one as the Summer ground solidified?
Sky news
A commander of an elite unit of Ukrainian marines has told Sky News the majority of his best trained troops have been injured or killed.
Speaking near the frontline, south of the city of Severodonetsk, company commander Oleksandr said a core of experienced soldiers who had been fighting together since 2018 have been lost.
"My unit was 100% made up of professional soldiers who have a lot of experience. Now, 80% are incapacitated from serious injuries or death," he says.
In comments which will alarm those backing Ukraine in its four-month long war with Russia, he says he does not know how long his unit can sustain such losses.
"I don't even know how to answer this question," Oleksandr says.
"It's hard. It's hard but we have no choice."
Seems the Ukrainian army successfully retreated to live and fight another day.
Makes sense, winning a battle only to loose a war is no victory. And loosing a battle to win a war is no defeat.
Won’t be good for morale
It's just proof of superior Russian missile technology - their anti-aircraft missiles can operate in dual mode and destroy ground targets as well. Just like their cruise missiles are hard to shoot down, because no-one can predict where they are going.
(footage from 2021)
Ukraine needs to launch long range missiles into Russia, the source of the scum and destroy Russian weapon factories and nearby military facilities. Give Russia a taste of its own medicine to see some of their state crumbling to the ground. What is Putin going to do ? Launch a nuke in retaliation ? Didn't Biden say if Russia launches a Nuke then Nato would end up having to go in and stop Putin ? Russia would be committing suicide surely if they launched such a weapon .
Meanwhile the Russians must be feeling superb about taking f*ck-all of Ukraine since Feb 24, despite how much they've thrown at it.
More HIMARS please...
Might be nothing might be something...
Always take a crap in the bushes. You never know who is watching
You’re like a malevolent succubus. Are you actually enjoying this? If a shill for Russia it’d be bad, but to take glee from this is disgusting. You’re one strange individual.
And that Yuri was how my constipation ended.
Ironic given Putin's famous quote during the second Chechnya war:
"We will pursue the terrorists everywhere. You will forgive me, but if we catch them on the toilet, we will wipe them out in the outhouse,”
Now his band of terrorists are being snuffed out as they try to take a sh*t on foreign soil. Nowhere to hide. At least Chechens had the wherewithal and IQ to use an outhouse and not a clearing.
This seems to be gaining traction. Wonder is something up.
Putin having medical issues
Kaliningrad
Himars
Luka in Belarus
Lot of possibilities
Russia to put nuclear missiles on Bellarussian soil was announced. Not sure it it has anything to do with that.
TASS is running a story that Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, is refuting any reports about Putin heading to the Kremlin to make some sort of statement. Make of that what you will. (Translate function on Twitter is a godsend, by the way!)
There are some speculations that this might just have been a drill by Putin's security detail and that he wasn't actually in the car, but I don't know. Something seems "off" about the whole thing.
Nuclear Capable missiles. Not sure if they'd puke actual Nukes there just yet.
Could be nothing or maybe they are planning on blowing up Belarus and blame it on Ukraine.
Dropping bombs
Hopefully Russia prevails against these cowardly nazi's.
