Russias tactics,we do the crimes, and west takes the blame
Ukrainian air defense shot down Russian missile over Sumy
goodies 1 0 baddies
All those '' injured soldiers'' don't have a scratch on them 😅😅🤡🤡
Putin is a clown, he could have at least put some fake bandages on the them, and some fake blood, what a tool.
It's simply not true though that Ukraine expected a quick and victorious end to the war this summer. Plenty of people within the administration have been talking about the war continuing for another six months at least (from now) and perhaps well into 2023. I'm not sure where the idea has come from that they thought the fighting would be over soon. Even if the plan was to retake Crimea and the Donbass, that would take many months of fighting.
Ok , Ukr may not be gaining ground and it may be even very slowly- too slow for the Russians- losing some and the body count may not be a good one BUT we cannot forget that while all this is going on there is Very significant damage being done to the Russian side - o bed / damaged tanks etc. ; a high number of body bags being returned home ; ‘missing’ soldiers ; low moral on increase, ; deflections; refusal to fight, ; sabotaging of army equipment. ; etc
TASS reporting when cruiser Moskva was hit by Neptune missiles, you really believe anything coming from the heart of kremlins propaganda.
During the towing of the Moskva cruiser to the designation port, the ship lost stability due to hull damage, sustained during the detonation of ammunition because of a fire. Amid the heavy storm, the ship sank," the Ministry said.
And its far from trusthworthy
Few countries can join the fight, that would be NATO v Russia, which is WW3. Some of the equipment Ukraine is getting is very modern. EU is Russia's largest customer for now, however that is changing rapidly.
The sanctions are still not enough to stop the war and Russia is not short on military equipment. When the war ends, Germary would go back to buying cheap Russian gas as the alternative of buying LNG gas from the US is more expensive.
Ukraine has been invaded so its economy has collapsed, this makes a material difference when comparing the invaded country versus the invader
I'm afraid you're wrong here.
Russia is highly dependent on the West to be the main export market for its natural resources. And that stable door is closing.
It's equally dependent on the West for imports, particularly for high-tech. And that door is now firmly bolted.
This even before we consider the hundreds of billions worth that Putin and his equally kleptomaniac buddies have, rather ironically, stashed in the West. And are now put beyond their grasp. (Ha!ha! he chortled. )
And, if you want proof positive that sanctions work, I give you...apartheid South Africa.
I've lived through many German winters and due to climate change they're little different to Irish winters these days. Grey, temperatures rarely before zero, a few snow flurries if you're lucky. But yeah, you still need heating
BBC saying the same, increasing questions being asked in Ukraine about how much blood is worth spilling to retain parts of the country that seemed doomed regardless.
It's a travesty but it's increasingly clear that Russia is not going to be sent running back to its borders the way some keyboard warriors here were predicting a few weeks ago.
Ukraine has friends but none want to fight for it, the military support Ukraine is getting is limited and they are getting old equipment, joining the EU would be years away. EU is still Russias biggest customer
TASS is the mouthpiece of Putin and the Russian government and has been cited as a source of disinformation as part of Russian influence operations
Not only is TASS owned and run by the Russian government. It specialises in Pro Russian Propaganda. And no I wouldn't call TASS reporting so much as "cover up", but rather deliberate and designed disinformation. One recent highlight of which is TASS publishing the claim that Zelenskyy fled Kyiv following the invasion and also that he had surrendered.
Zelenskyy used social media to post statements, videos and photos to counter the Russian disinformation.
Don't really care about that part of the world to go do that. Also not of military age anymore. I care about what happens here and to Ireland more.
But Ukraine has dozens and dozens of allies and is a prospective member of the EU. Their outlook is surely far more promising than the pariah state and dictatorship to their east - the 'North Korea of Europe'.
...
Russia seems to be a self sufficient country. In comparison Ukraines economy is destroyed and is heavily dependent on the west. It seems to favour Russia long term. Also if you look at countries like Iran sanctions lose their effect over time. Alot of countries that have sanctions on Russia, are mostly western countries, countries like China and India still trade with Russia.
Years of Putin propaganda has worked effectively on a load of "useful idiots" in the West. They are often far right or extreme left in outlook, but it's noticeable that a load of conspiracy theorists such as anti-vaxxers, Covid deniers, climate change deniers and anti-lockdown guys are on board as well.
Putin seems to appeal to many of them as a personality. They associate Zelensky as being part of the decadent, corrupt and globalist West, but Putin's hatred of the US, the EU and NATO and so forth is enough to make them fans.
Funny it seems to be a fairly common theme to "wonder" about things when it comes to Putin and "supporting Ukraine".
But completely agree we should leave those refugees to the tender ministrations of Putin and friends. It'll be grand like.
It's all about relative ability to bear economic pain.
The West can take a recession (one was overdue anyway). Russia will collapse under sanctions.
I'm fully aware of that - Chechens, Tartars, Ukrainians, Jews, ethnic Germans, ethnic Greeks etc..the list is long.
Seems likely western countries are going into a recession I wonder how much they can keep supporting Ukraine in the long run. Also its costing alot of money to take care of the Ukraine refugess that are coming over the border.
Lol. Ah the old why "don't you go and fight" retort. The same much used in the early days of the Pro Putin brigade hereabouts, but which went out of flavour after that piece of rhetoric was hung out to dry permanently. Maybe you didn't get the memo? But no matter.
So you theorise that Putin isn't manical? (I said nothing about stupid btw) You mean the same ego driven fooker who has illegally invaded a sovereign country on the pretext they are nazis and is currently waging a bloody war of annihilation of that country and targeting its civilians? Oh and now threatening a whole host of other countries with similar at some point in the future
The only "bloodlust" I've seen are those who think that a signed agreement will stop Putin. News for you it won't. Peace is certainly possible but only with the complete routing of Putin and his henchmen - politically and permanently. Anything less is naivety.
You would think given how incompetent Russian communications are that Western intelligence would have picked up on this
So basically you do not believe anything TASS reports (fair enough) but you actively believe that everything TASS reports is a coverup for something more nefarious... suit yourself
The really weird thing about this is that Russian explanations and propaganda is so absurdly bad and so transparent, but yet there are people who believe it. And not only do they believe it, they believe it so deeply and try to rationalize it and convert others. It's so mind numbingly stupid that you really wonder how the human race ever made it so far.
Again TASS reports saying the Russians are executing a special operation" in Ukraine certainly bears no relation to the tlknown facts of a bloody invasion and war being waged against Ukraine
Similarly Russia claiming to be "evacuating" Ukranian people to Russia bears no relation to what has been related through multiple personal accounts.
The Russian claim to a "special operation" in Ukraine has been used as to cover the bloody invasion and war been waged by the Russians
Ditto the Russian claim to "evacuating" Ukranians to Russia is also being used to cover what we know is happening from personal accounts.
When it comes to propaganda from the Russian media, we know the Russians are covering their own arses, regardless of what they are claiming.
Now putinbots are gonna say that the factory worker decided to quit the factory job and join the army in 2018
And how they were supposed to verify that?
Record all the filtration process?
Why don't you go to fight so?
Of course peace is possible. Putin isn't stupid or manical as much as people like to psychologize everything away.
I'm neither a Ukrainephobe or a Russiophobe, I would like to see peace. The blloodlust in this thread is pretty **** sad tbh.
