Odessa will be on the cards soon enough then
Russians still making progress in the East

Have you seen the Russian military?
And as we've seen in other autocrats, if the first time misses, then the crackdown comes and there's no chance for anyone else to make a second attempt.
Brave, cunning and needs to be practically guaranteed of success, which leads me to believe it will only happen with the cooperation of the military.
Putin has spent over 20 years carefully cultivating an almost complete control of Russian politics and it is my assumption that a lot of people are afraid of him in Russia. He does need to be taken down, but it'll take a brave and equally cunning man to step forward and plunge the knife in. That event, if it happens, cannot happen soon enough.
I’m talking about assassination/power struggle/coup
Putin looks healthy enough to me - but maybe he is propped up with drugs for public appearances?
Not with those sneaky poisoning Russians waiting in the wings
If it's something like Parkinsons, he could last for years with medication.
I didn't think that nations could/would insure military ships with commercial insurance companies. I doubt if Putin is trying a traditional insurance scam. He's just trying at every opportunity to suppress the news that Ukraine is doing well.
I didn't see where that article said it's been rowed back.
It depends on the model missles they get some have a range of over 315 km ,but if it the Russians take Odessa it would be a different game ,I believe they can be air launched from aircraft and helicopters so they could still have options to use it depending on what they get and the support package
Already walked back, just like all the other times he's gone off script: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/may/23/biden-taiwan-china-strategic-ambiguity-us-foreign-policy
If anything, there's even more ambiguity than there used to be!
DJ Carey's sister is an awful wan in fairness.
I joke, although Kavanagh's poem, Epic, comes to mind.
"That was the year of the Munich bother. Which
Was more important? I inclined"
It is an absolute disgrace that Zelenskyy has to beg for weapons this far into the war. History will remember this.
The only apt word is coincidentally "Orwellian"
Don't assume malice when incompetence will suffice.
I assume the insurance company will examine all the INFORMATION out there before coming to a decision about compensation or. Otherwise. I don’t envoy them in dealing with the Russians
Most RTE news cover little or nothing on The Ukr war. It basically cherry picks bits and pieces now and again- eg that court case - which is not a core part of the war. This war , from any angle, will have much more profound effects on the Irish economy and other aspects of it -eg overseas holidays and their cost- than Covid had .
IMO , RTE does not see it as important. I wonder the objectivity of the news editors/ leadership at the station

In Grozny, they stopped and destroyed tanks and their crews with Molotov cocktails...and they lost a large Nr of tanks before they changed their tactics
Germany should be more concerned with the fact it has had 20 plus years of Chancellors working for Moscow.
It's a pretty low bar for Russia to improve on their early performance, to be fair. You could sum up their first couple of months of warfare with this,
no and yes, i used to work in banking, cashier, i know my stuff
I know a silly question but if there anti ship missiles with a range of 139km would they be more placed along the coast like Odessa etc but if Russia gets if they do eventually take Odessa all the way to Moldova then those missiles are more or less outta play?
I said it a few days ago , American would be willing to send them via a partner nation is a supply wheel , other countries supply ukraine with certain weapons and America will supply or restock that first country with more or something similar
It's far from the strong man bollocks he has been portraying for two decades. What a legacy to leave if he does die soon. Millions displaced, probably hundreds of thousands killed, military humiliation and a potential famine in developing countries dependent on food export from the bread basket.
Seems like it's going to be a protracted war - the invading army have learnt from their early mistakes.
Garry was better at the oul chess than the comedy.
