Limerick are a great team but their behaviour off the pitch leaves a lot to be desired at times. There's been too many incidents of this type involving them.
Apparently some bandwagon fans were also making the Gaelic grounds a nasty place to be in Sunday. Some pretty bad stories emerging, almost hooligan like behaviour. Would be disappointed to see that coming to the GAA....
It's a difficult one for any team to deal with, and the whole aftermath.
Would they be better off just owning the narrative, rather than a vague "dealt with internally" without saying what happened, who it affects, how it was dealt with etc.
That just feeds speculation, everyone on the panel will constantly be asked about it, etc.
Yeah at the AI final last year there were two Limerick fellas sitting near me giving Cork some awful abuse. They never shouted for Limerick once, it looked to me like they just went there to see Cork get beaten.
25,000 from Limerick there on Sunday , i had a great family day out , everyone i met enjoyed their day thoroughly - huge amount of familys there all out on the field after getting autographs - photos etc .

Criticising thuggery is not "jealousy". People don't like it when players or supporters carry on like that, no matter whether they are winning All-Ireland's or not.
There's scumbags from every county at matches nowadays. This is just a anti Limerick agenda. Kilkenny supporters probably got accused of the same during there dominance.
Nothing will come of it... i seen where 2 Kerry players were convicted of assault and conviction was quashed by the circut court on payment of a few grand each th charity + the compulsory legal fees...
Its the country we live in and legal system that allows this... for me assault conviction automatic jail time...
Don't take me up wrong, I'm certainly not painting all Limerick fans with the same brush. I work with genuine Limerick gaa fans who wouldn't stoop so low. Let's be honest, every county has bandwagon jumpers when their team becomes successful. Some of these will never be seen again if Limerick hit the doldrums again. That doesn't give them the right to be roaring abuse in the terraces....

It's gas,a sub on the limerick panel is involved in an alleged assault and is removed from the panel,but when it was one of the certain starters they were allowed play on for limerick.

Although he's a sub. It's a blow because he usually contributes 1 or 2 points when he comes on and it reduces our options of the bench.
I have an uncle, Limerick native, who is death on every other county. Won't take any criticism of them at all, and gets quite personal at times. Ironically, he used to follow the Dubs before they started dominating and is a big hurling man now Limerick are at the top table (was always a football man growing up).
I look forward to his take on this. But from experience, there definitely is a nasty edge to some (not all) Limerick supporters.
This thread has already gone off topic with talk about alleged crowd trouble at matches. No doubt Tipperary people might say they dont support their team in person anymore because of the threat from hooligans at matches..like the 1970s in the UK. Thats would explain the 1500 tipp people out of a crowd of 27000.
The player should get the full force of the law and be dropped. Iv no issue with that. Were Tipperary and Limerick panels put Sunday night? I wouldnt have an issue if they were but it was 1230..kind of late with a match this weekend for Limerick.

It's a huge issue with the GAA. Drink bans don't work and when lads do go out they tend to go mad. That being said this Limerick team seem to have a bit of thuggery about them off the field. Tipp wouldn't be much better.
But sure scumbags with 100 convictions get away with it every day of the week. So when two lads who have made a huge mistake do it we want the book thrown at them? Nonsense. They are unlikely to reoffend which was clearly stated and will more than likely contribute to society in a constructive manner now. But throw the book at them and let the proper scummers off with it? Nah.
