Hi there, we bought a new build in Kildare and they've given us a move in date of June or July subject to connection of Esb and Irish water. Does anyone have an idea as to whether this could delay our moving in date? Thanks

I had a move in date of March. I’m still waiting on Irish water. So you may get delayed.
An estate in Maynooth had IW induced delays of about ten months. So its a how long is a piece of string question, unfortunately.

I've had the estate agents tell me of IW delays and then the same person saying its ESB delays when I call a month later. It was the builders that had delays in the end.
Estate agent saying she has 4 other builders in same predicament awaiting Irish water and could delay the move in date. Anyone else out there having issues?

Ah ok, I thought that if it's a second or third phase there would be no issues. Ours is a first phase in Kildare but near a current estate.
I’m no no expert but I don’t think it matters. Irish water seems to be a shambles of a company
Why is this not more of a news story? Surely if more political pressure was put on them they would have to do something to help alliviate the issue?
The leaking of millions of gallons of treated water is a bigger issue that gets zero traction. Estates not getting connected while bad for the home owners isn't a major issue for IW or anyone else.
I do understand that there’s bigger issues at play here but it is really annoying when your house is delayed. Guess ppl are venting ( including me) rather then giving out on the overall issue.

It's been an issue for years. We had friends waiting 6 months to get their keys in 2019, due Irish Water connection issues.
When big Phil was there anything was possible but now because we decided we thought we water is free we cannot have any...

Has your EA said anything on delays or are you wondering? I’d go visit the site when workers are there, u will get a better idea

My property has been delayed in Dublin now too. Pending Electricity and Water connection. House is complete for the past month and they think it will be connected next month. Absolute shambles. Have to reapply for mortgage and everything.
