I got the e-mail today about 'We're transferring you to Revolut Bank' - I already did this myself a few weeks ago.
No change to premium (at the moment) they roll that over into the Bank and the new Insurance Provider.
They just don't need the e-money license anymore and are rolling everything into the Bank license which makes sense as it offers better protection, allows them to offer more products (loans, cards) and also make it easier to have branch out in certain countries.
Anyone having issues with card top up today? Topped up via N26, the payment is showing as declined on Revolut but the payment went through on N26.
Topped up yesterday and today via AIB card using Google Pay without any issues.
Topped up earlier with PTSB debit card - no problem.
So I got onto support, they don’t know what happened but the payment will be reversed within 5 working days.
Had a similar weird one earlier today as well. Topped up with AIB twice as it was a large sum and it came through, but then I got a message that both top ups had been declined. However, the money was there so I just ignored it.
Bank travel insurance policies tied to accounts normally have very poor coverage so you end up having to buy proper travel insurance on top- how does theirs compare?
Theirs is very good
As good as any stand alone multi trip policy you'd buy
You also get lounge access if your flight is delayed and can buy it either at a discount
I just got a refund from amazon in sterling, went to exchange it to euro, got charged 7 cents to do it. I'm nowhere near the 1000 euro limit, and it's the standard plan, but I've changed it to the revolut bank when it was offered to me anwhile back. I know it's just 7 cents but still annoying.
Weekend ??
I got a 12c Irish stamp duty charge for a cash withdrawal
Its buttons but I don't get that charge on my debit card I think
Should have waited until during the week
You're normal bank charges you once a year, Revolut charge per withdrawal.
Think its up to €5 max a year
Thanks, will have a look at it in advance of our VHI Multriip plan coming up for renewal. Its a family plan though.
Right, I forgot it's the weekend. I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached.
Anyone with Premium/Metal subscription, could you please tell me what's the Abu Dhabi Airport lounge rate via LoungeKey?
I will then consider to upgrade to premium subscription.
Thanks
About the same price, looks like as elsewhere
A very decent lounge though, with showers and buffet food
You'd want to check it's open,I'd presume it is
Thanks so much for this info.
You said it's about the same as elsewhere. May I ask where do you usually book? Because on etihad website it says $40.
Lounge buddy and a few places have it for £28 stg or €33
So it is a bit discounted
You'd definitely get the value
I have lounge access via star alliance Gold so usually have a lounge somewhere
It seems you're a frequent flyer. I do international trip once a year. Do you recommend Revolut premium for me?
Depends on if you'll get value out of it
Its €120 a year
Multi trip insurance is around 60 to 80 depending
Sure read the table of benefits it's in the ap if you click upgrade and can be read without buying it
Definitely worth it for your trip if you can get a free trial or a paid trial for 30 days for a tenner
12c Gov tax per transaction at atm.It reaches a max charge of e2.50 a year per debit card.Charge year could be April to March.
Watch the various debris on the floor and bangers trying to get in.You could be lucky and be able to rent a towel.
I have a question regarding topping up Revolut.
I use AIB credit card to top up Revolut every week. Will AIB charge me €0.20 per transaction? It is an online payment.
I'm not sure if AIB charge an advance fee for credit cards topping up revolut (some banks do) but with a debit card you're charged whatever you're normally charged for a debit card transaction (20c in this case) so in short; yes, it's a card transaction like any other.
Just in case you're not aware, it's not generally a great idea to transfer from a credit card to Revolut. That's the same as a cash withdrawal from your credit card, so they will be charging you interest at credit card rates from the day you withdraw, unless your CC account was already in credit.
Not with all credit cards, some have it as a purchase.
Which ones?
Thanks for this.
I can confirm that I have never been charged interest on my AIB credit card. And it's considered as purchase. I am doing this for over 2 years now.
