Russia doesn't have 900,000 troops. They have a quarter of that. They are most likely counting males of specific age that fall into a category whom are unable to buy their way out of conscription service and coming up with a figure of around a million. These are the people that will be conscripted in maybe.. if they come.
They dedicated 75 percent of their professional troops to this war. It's going .... Great.

If the Russians declare war its going to mean chemical bombings and tactical nukes, make no bones about it, this can escalate horribly, rapidly.
If they declare "war" our time on this earth is likely to be greatly shortened :( or maybe book a flight to New Zealand or somewhere neutral'ish in the southern hemisphere if you can.
No one is expecting Russia to launch nukes. We're just discussing the possibility of the US having a nuke defence system similar to the newly announced Isreali laser defence system.
They won't have to kill them all to end the war. When casualties reach an unacceptable level Russia will declare victory and pull back.

I'm surprised that Russia hasn't been mouthing off about the Montreux Convention with Turkey, mind you the last time they (rather the USSR) got into an argument with Turkey over the Convention it led to the Turkish straits crisis, and that led to Turkey joining NATO.
It seems history often repeats itself- Russian aggression = NATO expansion.

Why would NATO send ships into the Black Sea now if they hadn't already done so? I mean aside from the fact there are already territorial seas belonging to 3 NATO nations in the Black Sea; I guess he's trying to say they're thinking about sending in a NATO task group or something... doesn't seem likely.

I have seen a few posts by yourself in this thread echoing this same sentiment. How are you forming the conclusion that people don't care? Is it because they are laughing at the Russians mishaps and reveling in the victories of the Ukrainians?

and it's because they care, that they therefore take satisfaction, laugh at or even celebrate whenever something bad happens to the Russians. It's the reaction to seeing an awful bully getting their comeuppance. Long may it continue.

Whatever escalation giving a few rusty MiGs to Ukraine might prompt: having actual NATO units on the ground killing Russians would surely prompt a significantly more extreme escalation.
I mean NATO are so terrified of even training Ukrainian troops that they're talking about setting up "remote training" where Ukrainian soldiers go to Lithuania and NATO trains them remotely. How the **** that's supposed to work I don't even know.

Too right i am, even on the slim chance they may be there. All these reports of failed helicopter evacuations and sea corridors to get people out from the area does give the impression maybe some people are in that steel plant are of the kind that should not be there. Why would you try and extract some guys who have been watching too many Braveheart films
