If this is correct then it is a significant turn around.
We have seen the Russian advance, stall and now in the last couple of days in small pockets of retaken areas by Ukrainian forces.
Hopefully there is a capitulation of the Russian forces. It could be a swift one.
Oh Vlad...not another one?
Seems to be a lot of trump talk of late….
Trump slurry ------->
Honestly I don't find it too bad. There's often information here that I miss on the news. I've made liberal use of the mute function since I learned of it to hide the posters who seem to aim to create aggravation rather than disagreeing based on evidence.
I had heard about some counteroffensive NW of Kyiv but wasn't sure how extensive it was. I had heard they had driven the Russians back from the NE of Kyiv alright. I missed the details about the Kherson area entirely. I'm afraid of getting my hopes up is part of the problem I think so I'm probably looking at bleaker assessments.
...I think you need to take a break. Seeing reds under the bed now are we? 🤣
It seems a mixture of both really. The Ukrainians are making some small gains, are putting pressure on the Northern army group (not "encircling" them though), which seems to be causing them to dig in, however the South and East is currently closer to a stalemate. If the Russians can properly take Mariupol and push to encircle Ukr troops in Donbas that would be very serious for the Ukrainians. The Russians accidentally published some figures a day or two ago which seemed to be close to estimates, around 10k Russian soldiers killed, if I recall with around 15k injured (could be as high as 30k, the Russian frontline medical facilities are utterly abysmal according to any accounts, also frostbite is a key problem, which is allegedly impacting some units by 50%)
The Russian military comms are bad to put it mildly, often they are on open channels, so a lot of their chatter is being intercepted. Of course it can't all be verified, but it does paint a picture which is also represented by drone and satellite images, as well as objective Ukrainian reports (not the propaganda)
Russia's entire invasion force is estimated to be around 55% of Russia's total military. Of that it seems at least 10% is destroyed, possibly closer to 15%. It's confirmed (by independent observers via visual confirmation) that the Ukrainians are destroying Russian equipment/vehicles at the rate of 3 to 1. Also, Russia doesn't have air superiority one month in.
On the flipside, the Russians have been fighting two fronts, the Ukrainians, and then their own problems of logistics, poor morale, poor comms, no air superiority, high combat losses. If they solve those issues, they could be more potent. Also they will naturally adapt new tactics/methods.
It was part of the article which was under discussion:
"Volodymyr Zelenskiy, criticised Nestlé, which continues to sell “essential” products such as baby food, cereals and some pet foods in Russia, in a streamed speech to thousands of protesters in Switzerland’s capital of Berne on Saturday."
My only point was I wouldn't be critical of a company supplying baby food to Russian people. I am aware they also sell other things too.
But for some reason, you read that as that I was OUTRAGED and that I wanted easter eggs for all russian kids and f*ck Ukraine.
🤣🤣🤣
Aw **** I'm in bits.
Thanks for that assessment. Grounds for cautious optimism if arms supplies from NATO countries continue to arrive and if morale and organisation holds up on the Ukrainian side.
The French were desperate for men and good fighting men at that.
Never forget the French had a rather unethical war to some extent when you see what Vichy did and then to top it off they did some unethical things after the war to try patch things up.
The French Alsations who were in Das Reich division that were prosecuted in Bordeaux for the war crimes committed by that division in Oradour-sur-Glane were given amnesty by French parliament in 1953.
That division were also involved in the mass hanging in Tulle and other atrocities.
The French government and state wanted to rehabiliate Alsace Lorraine back into France.
And because of the amnesty the local commemorations would not allow any French government attend for number of years.
Putin has without doubt dirt on Trump from when he visited Russia.
Pity the guy that tries to make money out of this and not get Putin approval i.e. give him his mandatory cut.
I also don't think it's unfair to say we aren't being given the whole picture of what is happening.
We probably don't, but that is entirely down to the Russians though. It's not like they are not giving their side of the story out there, they are on the news networks and social networks constantly, as well as calling UN special meetings, etc.
On one side we have journalists, Us and UK intelligence services and 1000s of hours of video, etc
On the other we have the Kremlin, who won't admit there is a war happening and claim that the Ukrainians destroyed their own cities.
Now you want to give some credence to the Kremlins version, very simple question how? How do you distinguish which parts?
They have skipped actual propaganda and have gone full in bat shít.
Personally using the sources I mentioned I think we are getting a fairly broad and accurate picture of what is happening. A complete picture is impossible.
Now like I said previously if you have anything concrete that contradicts the only reliable assessments we have, post them up.
I skip past the "he said, she said" posts, it's a practice I highly recommend!
you forgot to mention that the Russian Black Sea fleet is getting lit up like a xmas tree
That's nice. Thankfully, most sensible people recognise that Trump was a lazy and feckless president who openly admired Putin and questioned NATO. Well, Putin deserves no admiration whatsoever and NATO, it turns out, is completely f*cking necessary, so Trump's judgement was shite, and we can count ourselves lucky the world over that the man is no longer in the White House.
I think you got baited here. Zelenskiy didn't specifically call out essential products of Nestle. He just called out Nestle, like everyone else. This is pure clickbait material, Daily Mail or the Guardian?
Stick to the Russian dating sites so
😂😂😂😂
I can't. Because I never asserted anyone had. I just said I wouldn't be critical of a company supplying baby food to Russian people. I never once was outraged. It was me giving my opinion on an article.
You were the one that jumped in to declare that I was outraged. It is possible to hold an opinion and voice it without getting bend out of shape. If you could quote where you believe me to be outraged, I would be glad to see it.
And I am delighted that Nestle made that statement.
Quite possible and probable.
They reckon a fire broke out on one ship and spread to to the other after several explosions rather than from Ukrainan fire ,if it's a accident , could they claim an act of god on the insurance claim
Where's a grey-looking man with the syringe full of sedatives for the hysterical poster? Christ.
Nestle are scum first and foremost, we should be more concerned about the babies being bombed in Ukraine than worrying about the ones save at home in Russia. If Russia want Nestle back and feed there babies they need only stop killing babies and civilians in Ukraine to do so.
Video of it
It's possible to be extremely concerned about people being bombed in Ukraine and also not be critical of a company for supplying essentials to Russian people.
There's no outrage on my behalf. I was simply giving my opinion on an article.
Let's leave it at that.
