The nine ambulances were decommissioned and no longer in service with the NAS. Absolutely no link between this and ambulance waiting times.
This is sickening if true
Russia throws untrained civilians from occupied Donbas into hot spots of its war in Ukraine (kyivindependent.com)
That's a tough read.
Can't understand how the Russian ambassador hasn't been fcuked back to Moscow.
There's the military perspective and the human perspective.
The former looks better than most of us expected at the beginning. But the price for that is so much death and suffering, which makes it hard to take much solace from the "good" news
Lads dont get your knickers in a twist .... If you cannot see the irony in it.. so be it. I had a laugh anyway
Irony?
Bad taste would be a more accurate description.
Ukraine have also been doing this:
EU & US seemingly have not learned any lessons.
Is it likely that Russia will run out of resources needed to sustain the invasion or is it wishful thinking?
Maybe the difference the West is thinking, is that if Iran get uppity in the future, they can go and attack them, unlike the Russians.
So when it comes to chips and wafers for the electric stuff yes it could but honestly I didn't realise how much of there seems stuck in the 80s
I mean none of this is occurring in a vacuum. We still have to deal with Iran; and if Iran wants to soften and take advantage of Russia shooting itself in the foot then that is certainly something that should be explored.
I don't see how turning every nation into another North Korea is really the way to go if it can be at all avoided.
they could well run out but how much of Ukraine will be left by then is the question .
If Putin is pushed out of power after this war and a friendlier regime rules in Moscow I suspect that the west would go after Iran big time next.
Iran isn't softening. Iran is taking advantage of clueless EU and US leaderships who don't fully understand Iran's aims. How about the US goes back to be completely energy self sufficient as it was 12 months ago before Biden screwed everything up?
Please dont let these facts get in the way of a good rant....
Russians running out of food
liveuamap.com/
Depressing read in the guardian today, saying that the majority of Russians really do seem to firmly support the war and that sanctions, if anything, are reinforcing that. Don't hold your breath for public revolt any time soon, or if so it'll be over iPhones, not dead Ukrainians
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/19/vladimir-putin-waves-the-flag-in-a-polarised-country-where-views-are-hard-to-shift
That's their choice to remain in the stone age.
When Putin is long gone, the population will still be paying the price.
It seems they bet on a much swifter win in Ukraine and that bet has been torn up. They didn't see the West hitting them so hard with economic sanctions that have effectively ostracized Russia and that noose will tighten, is tightening on a near daily basis. No even half important nation in modern history has been hit by such a set of removals of their ability to function as a country. Some are worrying about the price of oil and gas on our side of the fence, on their side of the fence it's going to get very bad for those in the Russian cities. While we got lazy and complacent on the back of some of thier commodities, that goes both ways and a lot harder in their direction. Something's got to give and I think, hope that Russia will blink first.
The West attitude to Iran is heavliy swayed by US policy with the UK following at their heels. Now the UK is out of the EU, there's no real barrier to meeting halfway with Iran. At least political feelers anyway. If the West supports dangerous entities in the ME like Saudi Arabia, then Iran is little different.
Do remember the lessons of history though. Economic collapse + military defeat is an enabler of extremism (see: Germany in the 1930s, Russia 1917...).
I know Russia seems extreme already.
I'd be sceptical enough about the claims in the article. Any time Russian Youtubers try to interview the public on the street on the subject of the "special operation", the vast majority of people (perhaps 75%) run away and don't want to talk about it. This would hardly be the case if they were all pro-Putin or pro-war.
Younger people in particular don't seem to be onboard with the invasion at all.
Fascinating history lesson...
Can you do the same for Palestine?
It's possible this list isn't exhaustive (and likely US-centric) but interesting nonetheless - a list of the companies who operate in Russia and the stance they are taking in relation to the invasion of Ukraine:
They also link to a spreadsheet here (which I presume will continue to be updated):
I can appreciate that there is probably a host of interconnected geopolitical and technological reasons why what I am about to say is unrealistic, but I'll still say it - we need to double down on research into renewable/sustainable energy that is generated local to where it is used and is generated to such an extent that it is all which is used. That cannot come soon enough. That's a big blow that we can deal to despotic corrupt 'ideologically incompatible' governments around the world. Get away from fossil fuels entirely. We can't make oil a total irrelevance because it has other uses besides fuel, but we can at the very least put a major dent in the obscene power it gives those who possess it. The more nations become self-sufficient in the necessities of life, there is suddenly a greatly reduced need to go to other lands and try to take what's theirs.
More like you were caught by the balls and now you are trying to save face.
Service vehicles like these ambulances, have a maximum service life, this can be measured in years or mileage, after which they become uneconomical to run. And when you think that these HSE ambulances are running 24/7/365, you can be sure that after 5 years or more, the mileage is astronomical. What keeps them going though is they are serviced to the last, no expense spared. Their future life, under the circumstances, could be short lived, but hope fully not.
For those who don't understand: Zelensky is scheduled to give a speech to the Israeli parliament via zoom. The Arab politicians are boycotting the speech.
I should also add a Jewish politician is also boycotting, because he's a leftist and "doesn't believe in war"
Pathetic little worm.
