What a ridiculous statement. Ireland has a long proud connection with the US. Even today we have a huge amount of American companies based in Ireland who are employing Irish people.

This is a long held tradition and it would be a massive snub to the people of America and the Irish American community if the Taoiseach didn't go over. People these days are so bitter over everything, time to cop on

Taoiseach has only been doing it since Ragen. Ambassadors etc did it previously.

Not sure if other head's of state and ministers from other countries skip off across the world on their National holiday. Seems to be a Paddy junket. I see Mary Lou is also throwing herself around the US at the moment. Maybe she can deputise for MM.
